  1. Microfilm at the library would be the best bet.
  2. Yup. Owner is iffy...for sure. But the rest of the team looks to be more solid than anything he's ever experienced in his career to date. I'd not be interested in NO were I him...leaving a party town only to replace it...coach seems to be a patch as well...and the cap. We do have a solid coaching tree, good O line, a number 1 WR, and we are in the NFC. If I'm a FA QB, I'm getting my ass into the NFC for sure. Who knows though, I do like what we are doing, and if this staff sells the farm for Stroud, so be it....it's time to get serious around here.
  3. I agree, however Franks age does make me a little hesitant on that. We don't know what Carr wants, is he financially motivated? I wouldn't be, but that's just me. Does he want a shot at a Lombardi? Does he want some stability and a normal place to raise a family? Put me in his shoes, and Carolina would look very interesting to me. I'd probably want a 2 year guaranteed deal, so I could hit the market one more time prior to hitting 33/34. I actually could see us being somewhat attractive to both Carr and Rodgers, and I don't think that either would give two shits if we took a QB in the first after signing them.
  4. Cam approached his injuries a little differently than most...really hated surgery. I think I remember him putting off surgery in 16 or 17 and trying to make it through the season...think that hurt him as well.
  5. Moments of delight surrounded by years of misery. Like being married to a crazy woman.
  6. Carr I agree, Jimmy...not so sure. He just doesn't impress me in any way. That said, he is better than Sam...I think. I'm really hoping for a 3 man QB room, Rookie, Carr/FA, Corral. Don't want to pay big dollars for Carr or Aaron, but if the deal is short, I may not throw up too hard.
  7. Was hoping they would cut him, and we could entertain him on a 2 year deal and still bring in a rookie...could at least be competitive in the division that way. Whatever.
  8. Just depends on how long you can kick the can, and how much the cap goes up with the new TV deals. End of the day, you still have to put butts in seats.
  9. Bro, we got Thomas...we are in great shape at TE.
  10. Thought I recalled that as well, but maybe not. Also glad to hear that Frank is as advertised...a normal NFL guy, not addicted to his own ego.
  11. You ever stood next to Rivers or Eli? Those guys are BIG. Not saying specimens, but they aren't small by any means. There is some luck with long start streaks...but also a whole lot of toughness and size don't hurt.
  12. You misspelled infuriating. He allowed perpetual F Up Marty Hurney to run the show. Think about how braindead that is.
  13. Thank you sir!!! We have some guys on D, let's see what our new wiz kid can do with them. P.S. Snow was the one redeeming thing about the Rhule debacle.
  14. Had we lost Brown, Burns, or Shaq for any length of time....shew.
  15. I actually think that Brown would do pretty well as a 5 tech...we will need to find a NT though...IMO that's easier said than done...hope we are eyeing that position on day 2.
  16. Don't go...no reason to. Baltimore is likely the worst "city" I've ever been to in my life...and I've been around ya know.
  17. Well...OK then. I don't come on here much at all during the weekend, and this weekend was no different. Was doing a lot of woodworking around my house, and staying away from Twitter....I never have the TV on in my house unless football is on. Had no idea that we made a hire, or were looking to until I sat down at work this morning...well I'll be...we are acting like a real NFL team...incredible. That said, do we know that he's going to bring the 34 base to this team? I'm kinda hoping so as we do have some of the pieces for it...but we will need to bring in some FA's for that base. I'm excited....been a while.
  18. Rivera won 9 more games than he lost and had the same QB for his entire tenure. Ron is an average coach at best...Frank is a good one. IMO.
  19. I've had a Charlotte resident, season ticket holder tell me that she doesn't really care about winning...to her she likes knowing who is out there....pulling for TD, Cam, Luke, and Pep....that's all that mattered. Fans are weird.
  20. Same, although I had a brief affair with Ben Johnson. However, I give Reich about a 40% chance of busting, Steichen I wouldn't have had that much hope for success....however if he did succeed, the highs would be higher. I think Frank can bring some consistency, and I'm guessing that Tepper is ready for some of that.
  21. No, but only because it's one of the hardest things to do in all of sports. I'm guessing that he will try, and I think that he has as good of a chance of getting it done as most out there...but it's just too hard to say I trust him to do it. Carr, Rodgers, Corral, Draft. Some type of this mix if I had to guess.
  22. Pretty surprised, and that's a good thing. I kinda wanted Ben Johnson, but at the same time, this team is in DIRE need of structure and leadership....I think Frank can provide both. Will not surprise me in the least to see Carr in a Panthers uni next year with Corral and a vet fighting it out for the no. 2 job. At worst, we know that Frank Reich is an NFL coach, and one that's offensive minded....we could have done worse...and have. Now, let's fill out a staff and see if Luke is interested in returning.
