McCown to CJ : “Maybe when you move to Charlotte”
thefuzz replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Keep Charlotte and Today's Raleigh, I'll take Wilmington all day and twice on Sunday's. Now, back to me trying to fall in love with Stroud. -
Concerning, unless there is a good reason.
-
Ain't many places I'd trade our weather for. I live at the beach, so maybe I'm a little different than most in that.
-
"The System" as you call it, was agreed to by both the owners and the players. If they want to change "the system" you have to be prepared to lose real dollars. I like "the system" the way it's set up. Rewards drafting, and allows "lower tiered" teams to compete.

Panthers sign Bengals TE Hayden Hurst
thefuzz replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
5 tech that fell? MLB? I'm with you, but I'd prefer a wide out to a TE. With TE's I'd rather do exactly what we did. Just takes too long for those guys to contribute. -
Yea, I agree....I'm just hoping we don't try to recreate Cam....I don't think for a second this staff would, but who knows. Maybe Morgan sees a lot of Allen in AR....again, hope not.

Former Panthers QB: “No doubt in my mind” they pick Bryce Young
thefuzz replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is a bad argument, the better one would be "no QB's have come from X system". How many great QB's has Purdue or Miami of Ohio produced? -
Good signing. Hope it doesn't point to us drafting AR.
-
Wow, called it.

Totally agree, need him in the building, but I'm guessing there isn't a 1 A and B....but a 1, 2, 2A, etc.... Who knows though, glad I'm not the one making the call to be honest.
-
IMO, we moved to 1 to get a singular player, we MAY be tempted to move back one spot, but I don't think that will happen. Everyone in the building minus, Mr. and Mrs. Tepper, will likely be gone in 3 years if this doesn't work out. In that instance, you have to take the "most likely to make it" QB...that also checks boxes that make him a very high 1st rounder. Stroud is the only player that looks like he checks all the boxes. His interview with the offensive leaders of this team, if it were to go well, will likely wrap all this up. Any of the other 3 bring some serious questions with them.
-
And the right call, I'd think if we are looking for a vet, would be Dalton at 4-5M or so.
-
I do not like this talk at all honestly. I'd much prefer a player to be able to play under center, not in the gun all the time. AR can't throw, Young has to play in the gun, Stoud seems like the best pure passer, but doesn't make a lot of plays with his legs. Gimme the passer.
-
You don't give up Moore not to get your guy. They can be sold all day that the Texans want AR, or Young, and then they march up there and take Stroud... Nah, just go ahead and turn in the card.
-
May get his jersey...for my son. Great signing, glad to keep the band together.

Class act. Guy played for 2 dumpster fires, and just went out there did the best he could (which wasn't much) and kept his mouth shut. I don't think I've ever heard him say a bad word about anyone. He cannot be a franchise guy, he's just not able...however, in that system, he can be a starter. Good luck Sam, ya got one more shot.

If you think of it strictly as a business, it's one of the best out there. If you want to win awards and be a flash in the pan here and there, it's not such a great plan. The Packers remind me of Wal-Mart or Microsoft. Nothing special at all, but will always be around, making lots of money.
-
If you want to go by this logic, the actual sentence would be: Always pick an NCSU QB, it doesn't make any sense, but it's the right thing to do.
-
Look at his hips, knees, and ankles....he will not be able to play at 200....well, he may be able to go on the field, but it's gonna look BAD.
-
This isn't true, nor will he be able to carry that much additional weight...just won't be able to move as well...both his legs and arms would be affected. He played around 170 last year, to ask him to get to 200-205 isn't feasible....he's just a small guy, look at his hips and legs. He doesn't look like Steve Smith or Darren Sproles. And this is coming from someone who immediately thought of Young when I heard of the trade.
-
There is no way his playing weight will be above 190....I love his game, for the most part, but he just simply too small. The moment I heard about the trade, I was thinking Young would be the guy....but the more I think on it...it's gotta be CJ. Either way, we got something to look forward to for a while....feels....different.

Did I miss something over the weekend? I'm a 9-5er.

How can you predict the success of a college QB in the NFL?
thefuzz replied to d-dave's topic in Carolina Panthers
OK. First, you really can't, although some years/classes you can kinda see who should work out, and who shouldn't. I really believe in college starts at the QB position. These players with very few starts/years starting bother me...just not a fan of it. I'm totally going off of gut feeling here, but the Power 10 schools that produce the most NFL talent sorely lack in producing NFL QB's...I think some of that is their ability to win the starting gig at LSU, or Bama, or OSU. Yes, there are wild cards like Cam and Burrow, but those guys are total outliers. Don't have a ton of starts in D1 and still were able to be bosses out there. Brady could be in that convo as well. How many starts did Manning 1 and 2 have in college? Rivers, Big Ben, Brees.....etc. These are older dudes, but guys who started in the league for a LONG time. If they have say....30-40 starts in D1, you have a VERY good idea of what they can do....hell, they likely beat out a Senior or Junior as a rookie....tells you something.
