  1. He does have better players at the moment, and the other team isn't in dire need to score....so we shall see.
  2. To add, as I got a bit distracted. One of my closest friends in the world and I had this discussion at the last game we attended together. We were talking about winning and what was going on with the Panthers. I said that I wanted Marty run out of town on rails, and she was aghast. "He's drafted all of my favorite players" was her rationale. I asked her if she would rather win, or have her favorite players on the roster.....she wanted the players more than the W. Very strange to me, but whatever.
  3. Not you specifically, yours was just the first one to make me want to respond. I don't know if this is a Panthers thing, or not, but this weird obsession with "drafting star players" and absolutely caring more about the players than winning seasons is very strange to me. Marty gave us a BUNCH of names to cheer on, and a BUNCH of losing seasons. I'd rather not know a single player on the roster and win, than have TD, Luke, Olsen, Cam, CMC, Norman, Smith and Peppers out there losing season after season.
  4. Eh....Don't think so...at least not in reality. What we recall isn't as rosy as we think it was. We are MUCH more civil than any time in our history. That said, SPORT does take the place (to a certain extent) of our desperate love of combat. Unfortunately, men need to fight/compete/prove, not all, but many, until their mid to late 20's. Instead of beating everyone over the head and dragging women around by the hair, we just box, play football, practice martial arts, throw discus, play basketball, etc...it somewhat takes the place of that weird internal desire. Some need to fight more than others, many of them are "die hard" fans.
  5. I really enjoy college football in person, and NFL on television, with the game paused, so I don't have to listen to droning announcers, commercials, or terrible re-plays. Can get through a Panthers game in about an hour that way.
  6. Want to fight, be my guest. Just don't do it over hard surface. Dummies.
  7. These. I built an "L" shaped outdoor kitchen when my wife was pregnant with all 3 built in. https://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-700-701-4-Gallon-Stainless/dp/B000TMHSZ4/ref=sr_1_3?crid=18XGB2APMJYXQ&keywords=bayou%2Bfryer&qid=1695224768&s=home-garden&sprefix=bayou%2Bfryer%2Cgarden%2C82&sr=1-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3&th=1 https://www.acehardware.com/departments/outdoor-living/grills-and-smokers/charcoal-grills/8536674 https://blackstoneproducts.com/products/original-36in-griddle-w-hood
  8. ...Marty Hurney had never been introduced to The Big Cat.
  9. Never ever felt overly confident in any team led by Ron, nor put together by Hurney.
  10. Prolly wings. Been craving them for a while and refuse to pay for what restaurants call wings these days. That said, after this weekend I could use a salad. So wings for sure. Likely too much beer. Prolly a nice Chardonnay in the 3rd quarter to act like I'm at the stadium.
  11. There has been a lot of bad, and quite a bit of good...IMO. Mixing control with Tepper and Rhule was a mess, but with Tepper and Rhule, it was always going to be so...so I'm going to go with OK in his first 2 years. He was HAMSTRUNG, but also seemed to make plenty of bad calls on his own....I think. That said, I do like the trajectory of this team, and front office currently. I like Samir, Dan, and Fitts as a team....getting a better feel for this FO every year. I like our current coaching staffs, and I like the fact that he helped convince Tepper to overspend on the staff, overspend on getting some QC guys in place (Dom and Jim), and I like that we have cornerstone pieces on our defensive and offensive lines to build on. Overall, the players have been a mixed bag, the contracts haven't been back breaking, but the direction that we are headed looks brighter than the past 10 years. I'm keeping the guy a while longer to see how this plays out.
  12. I've been noticing this for a while. It's why QB's like Young can actually make a good living, and not die in the process. You don't have to be 6'5" 240 any longer, you just have to be able to get the ball out on time, and accurately. Smith with the Eagles wouldn't last 5 games 10 years ago...now, he can thrive.
