I'm very leery of OSU qbs at the next level, and then you factor in that he struggles reading defenses...
If a better candidate is there, perhaps.
Even so, I think I still favor the idea of staying at 8 or even trading down to get as many 2nds and thirds as we can and rounding out as many holes as we can.
Agreed on Fields in particular. I've read he struggles at reading defenses and that in and of itself disqualifies him from consideration in my opinion.
Wilson is interesting but I think he's one of those guys who'd be best off sitting for a year or so, and I'd prefer to go in a direction where we get a day one starter at 8 this year.
This is not a statement about him as a person or his personality.
but I hate the little prick.
I hate his Houdini act bullshit.
I hate the DangerRuss bullshit.
It's far past time we start dominating Seattle.
In as much as I think a fair amount of karma would be unleashed if we got him somehow, I just don't think this is the year to trade for a qb. There's too many holes to fix on the oline in and of itself, and then you factor in we'll likely have to replace Samuel.
That said...if this situation de-evolves enough, it'd be interesting to see him in Chicago.
Come to think of it, Jeff Otah. Haven't heard anything about him in years.
Kasay.
Brad Nortman.
Been a while since I've heard anything about Stephen Davis too.
