It's time, David.

If only we could've somehow gotten Lincoln Riley.

Cardinals vs Rams last night vs Panthers
bigskypanthersguy replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
They should've started doing that when Ryan Kalil and Gross retired. -
If only Greg Little could've worked out. It wouldn't answer everything but two solidish tackles would go a long way. Are we sure we can't have Ryan Kalil, Wharton and Gross back?

Go to Tampa and weaken them!

Losing Out is the Way
bigskypanthersguy replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
As has been said before, losing out doesn't necessarily solve our problems. Look at the Jags and the Browns and Raiders from years ago. Eventually you have to show improvement over a multi-year span or you start having a culture of losing. I'd say there's a very strong chance this is going to be yet again a losing season and I have absolutely no faith in Rhule having a winning season next year. The wise approach would be to kick the qb can down the road another year because no one in this draft is worth a high pick, but I suspect a panic move is likely to happen. Howell, Pickett, or someone along those lines. Personally I'd rather grab whomever is available at LT, d-line, even linebacker or maybe WR and see where we are there. All the trades more or less killed this draft barring a trade down or two. I suggest finding something happier to do with your Sundays for a couple years, everyone. It's going to take a few years to right this ship. -

God help us all if Rhule gets year 3. It would be miraculous if he wasn't a lame duck coach then. -
I know Rhule is bad, but Meyer might be worse
bigskypanthersguy replied to ENCPantherfan2's topic in Carolina Panthers
If I'm the Jags, Meyer is gone by the end of the year. -
David Carr. God. His only true huge play was that jumping leap he had once. I think against like the Giants or Titans or something?

I'll always be disgusted by their cheating but would not mind our reaching that level of play. I could tolerate them if they were that good and didn't have to cheat. Besides, their rebuild didn't last very long and that fanbase deserves decades of suffering.

I'm over this staff. I don't want to be jokes. I want to be elite.

I keep an eye on the week's stats from game to game but mostly am focused on the Hurricanes now. The Panthers are uninspiring presently so I have little reason to watch.

If we lose to Atlanta does Tepper fire Rhule
bigskypanthersguy replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
oh, christ, please let us beat the Seahawks. 5 years of living in Spokane made me hate those fugers like nothing else. -
Send him to the Broncos. That fanbase still hasn't suffered enough for 50.

Are you willing to give Rhule a third season?
bigskypanthersguy replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
He would have to become a completely different coach in order to succeed here. -

That should still cost jobs. At that point it's clearly unprofessional. -

(In my defense, it's hard to keep up with this place and participate in r/canes GDTs...) As ever, glad to see a win. The Tro major/misconduct should cost someone their jobs. I'm fine with a minor but that was ridiculous. Granted, a number of calls that have gone against us have been real iffy lately. Here's hoping we mostly beat the Canadian teams as I'm not a huge fan of their entitled attitudes (the fanbases I mean.) -
Turner's an interesting idea but I'm not sure he has enough experience yet as an OC. Rod would be someone I'd consider as OC provided someone like Turner got HC in order to help with experience behind the scenes. His Browns tenure makes me very leery about him as a HC though. Gruden...I don't know how he coaches again, at least at the NFL level, after the email debacle. This is just so disheartening. I didn't care much for the Rhule idea, especially at the length of his contract, but had to try to hope for the best. I think it's evident he has completely failed.

At this point I want him to start knocking refs out. The way it's going they're a hop, skip and a jump away from literally pissing on us on the ice. Reminding me a lot of Newton in 2016 with the refs letting Denver do whatever they want. This time, Canes refs are going out of their way to take the game away from us in the last few minutes. All of that said... Rod has never seemed to be the best at strategy as a HC and I think this slide is an indication of that. We have to raise our play to a level that takes the refs out of the game and the only way to do that is shoot enough and score enough that they can't overturn everything. Though some of Jarvis' stolen goals earlier this year say otherwise. They're either incompetent refs at this point or they're, well, "sullied."

For pete's sake, really? Losing to the Senators? Enough with this sluggish start crap.

Cam Newton should be done as a starting QB in this league
bigskypanthersguy replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess my best response to that would be as follows: With that much experience under his belt, shouldn't we be good at any of it? The D-line is mostly okay at pass rushing, but the rest of it....Christ. I could make the argument for this being the worst special teams and offensive line we've ever had. -
I will always hope we win. I don't give a damn for higher draft picks. Drafting someone high doesn't necessarily mean anything and to me the most fun aspect of football is watching your team win. From the available current evidence I find it highly unlikely. The thing I will appreciate about Foxball/Riveraball is when it's on, it's damned on, and the Rhule Panthers badly miss that kind of grit. Snow's pass rush displays it to a degree but everything else is an absolute disgrace. Last week's offensive line performance in and of itself was abysmal.
