Perplexed in a positive way. Curious how this plays out.

Haven't taken a ton of photos for multiple reasons, largely due to the fact I am so beyond exhausted that I can't promise I wouldn't lose a camera or a phone and I already lost my smartphone somewhere in Helena prior to the trip. The highlights: We got broken down in Kansas for about 7-8 hours and the police's response to the 40 of us, instead of taking us to Kansas City where we actually needed to go, they decided having the Red Cross show up with water and junk food was good enough for...reasons. I was supposed to be in Charlotte Thursday at 4-5. I'll now get there Friday at 4 am. This absolutely can't happen Monday when I go back because I have to work in Helena on the second. Highlight two: I got appreciative chatter and smiles at a Wyoming Arby's for my Kuechly jersey. There was a bus of South Carolinians there on some kind of mission or something related to it and I thought that was nifty. Highlight 3: The resultant scheduling chaos has allowed me to see the Royals stadium in KC, Broncos stadium in Denver, Heinz Field in Pittsburgh (flipped off twice, because they more than deserve it) and I saw the St Louis Blues team store before I saw the rink, which was odd, because you'd think you'd want people to notice your rink first. Much of this wasn't photographed because my backup phone is an ancient Tracfone and, frankly, the camera inside sucks. By and large, I've had people be very supportive to me of my Panthers fandom, though the polite Falcons fan I had a conversation with said "fug my team", so the hell with that guy. We survive 8 hours on a highway together and that's the thanks I get for camaraderie? The most surprising thing was perhaps the surprisingly humble Cowboys fan and Steelers fan--Cowboys fan went all the way from Billings to Kansas City with me, and the guy had of all things a Cowboys toolbox amongst a Dallas coat, blanket, etc. Would've taken pictures but been trying to minimize battery usage as much as possible. Did get the Steelers guy because he admitted to seeing Panthers games in Charlotte and Spartanburg when they originally launched, so he is spared my wrath for now. Oh, and my luggage may have gotten lost between Indy and Pittsburgh so all I have for clothing is the clothes on my back. This luggage includes three of my favorite jerseys and last year's South divisional championship tshirt. I am REALLY hoping that shows up in Charlotte by Monday when I leave. So, for those of you in 508, if I'm slightly unkempt, sorry, folks--not really my idea to have my planned attire go up in apparent smoke. Much as Battlestar Galactica taught us about the Cylons, Greyhound management tells you that they have a plan...I've just never seen any evidenciary fact of that. Ah, right. Highlight 4. On the bus out of Denver? A guy who's been on the bus I've seen out of the corner of my eye sits next to me. Evan is his name! He's been working in Montana the whole summer at Yellowstone. Where do you suppose he lives and what team do you suppose he likes? Carolina, of course...though he lives somewhere near the Tennessee border (I may not remember that correctly, but, hey, this has been one trying adventure.) In fact, now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure it was WV. Again, brain death... And did I mention on the way from Helena to Billings that a few miles out of Livingston that the rear tire on my van blew out? This has been a Homerian epic and a Shakespearean tragedy's bastard love child hopped up on crystal meth and my exasperation. Win by 40 for me Sunday, boys. I need it.

especially not for me! been on a Greyhound since Monday from Billings, MT--been delayed multiple times by broken-down buses accompanied by general jackassery--and provided nothing else goes wrong I'll finally hit Charlotte around 425 am Friday morning.
