I'd be stoked. I still think he has to become a completely different qb for him to be the future, but if he can be a bridge for the next few years until we find our next The Guy, sure, why not?

I've begged for years to draft a guard, center, and for either Little to work out or to finally find a good LT. here's hoping Brown answers one of those.

I understand worrying about learning protections, but I don't think there's a choice if they want Darnold to succeed this season. We're seeing what bad drafting or ignoring positions can do to a roster. They have to get this right or we may need to draft a qb next year. (and frankly, the whole Darnold experiment was only ever going to work, imo, if we sat him for a year and coached him up as much as possible and put as much as we could into fixing the oline. Actually, earnestly, honestly, finally fixing the sonofabitch.)

I worried about that too. Frankly, so far, that worry has not been dispelled. if Darnold flames out, we're at the point he has to draft his guy, whomever that may be, and that guy has to succeed, or we have to move on.

That's where I don't like this whole gamble. For all intents and purposes, Darnold has to become a different player for him to be what Rhule and we need. I don't think it's going to happen either.
