I read that Mims was having a good camp until he got hurt. I guess it wasn't good enough not to cut his ass.

I mean, it is a workday for most of us. With the game coming on at 7:00, a lot of us won't have time to engage until it's about on. I doubt there's a quell in excitement after one preseason game. If we get shellaced again, then all bets are off. BTW, most of us regulars are hardcore. We're following this team regardless!

Hell, I probably won't get off until damned near 7:00. I'll have to decide if I even have time to do a mobile order and pick up some food, or just eat something frozen. "Real life problems."

New Sunday Ticket features announced by YouTube

I'm skeptical that the NFL will ever allow this to happen. You have too many people actually paying for the complete package, and a la carte may hurt the bottom line. Admittedly, I am one of those people who will likely never invest that type of money in watching football (unless I become an expat), but I'm thinking that there are more people like me than those willing to drop a half o' stack to watch NFL games (particularly in this digital age where there are likely other options...) -

Competent veteran O-line play Drives into the red zone (or end zone) Points -
The only thing is that his remarks are not even directly referring to us. It's just Huddlers being reactionary because we had an awful showing in our first preseason game under the direction of our shiny new coaching staff. Some people are making a connection where there wasn't one. Saleh obviously didn't want to have the second joint practice for sure, but in our case, the weather and field conditions were a convenient excuse. He made the joint decision with Reich to call off the practice. He really wanted to have a solo practice in order to motivate his team to have a better showing than it did the week prior. That may be the reason they had the stunts on defense. He may have put the pedal to the medal to a degree, but that's arguably what he's supposed to do in the second preseason game. And, arguably, our veteran O-line should've handled it better. As for gloating and taking "victory laps" over handing us our ass, I don't see it. The comments that he made about second joint practices being a potential powder keg complete with unnecessary injuries due to hurt feelings and stepped-on toes is certainly not indicative of gloating or going over the top about preseason victories.
-
I know that, but I thought your point was that the reference could have just as easily been about our line. If not, that is the point I'm making.
-
All starts with the O-line. If they have problems this week, then I might be worried. Mind you, that if it's only one person fuging up, that perhaps can be fixed, but if the entire line is inconsistent, then we may have a problem.

How would you feel if we cut Chuba and signed Hunt?
top dawg replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I could get with Playoff Lenny. Still not gonna cut Chuba though. -
That's easy to say without context. I'm totally good with the decision to sign Sanders at the value that they did.

I disagree. He's more explosive than JAG. -
You saying they aren't the answer doesn't mean they aren't the answer. But let's say you're right; who are we signing that's so much better? Who is the answer?
-
Don't be mad at Saleh; if you must be mad at anyone at this point, be mad at Reich. Let's keep it all in perspective, it was the first preseason game in a new era. Hopefully we can erase the bad taste in our mouths Friday evening.
-
All true, but our starting O-line better look like a group of competent vets Friday evening, whether stunted or not (play on words, made up verb intended).

I don't know about him being a better than dual threat than Sanders, and he's older. He'd take the pressure off for sure though. -
That was excellent! Tom Grossi has some competition.
-
Because he's our best blocking TE...That's all I can come up with.

Been waiting for this... BY on QB School

I was thinking that perhaps on one throw, but Bryce may have been looking at the DBs possibly cutting underneath for an INT, or the fact that Hurst may have come up short. -
Positive from Today: Bryce Young's Talent in One Play
top dawg replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I basically missed the second half (having discussions with my wife & 96 year old grandma). You said something akin to what I wanted to say, but seeing that I really only paid attention during the first half, I bit my tongue. But, when I looked at his stats I said, "This doesn't necessarily jibe with the 'Corral sucks' theme that some Huddlers were/are so quick to throw around." Some Huddlers gonna huddle though, and always overlook context. Context matters; I say this all the time. -

I don't. That little thing called "decision making" bothers the hell out of me in regards to AR. He didn't exactly light the world on fire in his first preseason game either.

Positive from Today: Bryce Young's Talent in One Play
top dawg replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's not my quote, that comes from the Sporting News. Moreover, considering what Bryce was dealing with, it's conceivable that someone would give him an A. I can't judge him because he really didn't have time. -
All fine and good, but you have to realize that personnel changes, experience changes, the schedule changes, and other teams don't stand still. If you look top to bottom, most people outside of Panthers land will likely say that the Saints are the one's to beat in the NFCS this season. They will likely also tell you that only one team out of the NFCS is making the playoffs.
-
I'm not discounting the possibility of making the playoffs this season, but using that as a standard or expectation in the first year of a coach--really a team, is unfair in my opinion.
