  1. He has rubber-stamped some "bad football moves" for sure, but hindsight is always crystal clear. It's the learning of the lessons so as not to repeat the same errors that is ultimately important.
  2. We should've drafted Fields. I'm sure Huddlers would've talked poo about him, but he's been legit good since he returned from injury.
  3. I mean, Bryce got sacked how many times? Pressured how many times? Bryce didn't play well, but is that really a surprise considering the trash protection that he had today?
  4. That's about the size of it. Plus, it's stupid to literally root against him if you're a Panthers fan. I can see possibly wanting to acquire competition for him, but reveling in his seeming failure is beyond the pale.
  5. Jackson has ALWAYS been able to throw, and prefers to throw from the pocket. Part of Burrow's game is his ability to scramble. So, basically I'm not buying it.
  6. I remember people here talking plenty of poo about him. So much for that foolishness.
  7. What did the old people tell me when I was a kid? "That's what you get for thinking."
  8. Three points isn't that bad he way they martched down the field.
  9. I mean, anything goes with white, so I don't see the controversy. To each his own.
  10. I just have a hard time believing that someone doesn't know what a boombox is.
  11. Yep it's a Bumpboxx (though not a Flare8). They've stopped selling some models. That's an old V3S, I believe. The Uprock was stupid big. The Flare8 is big enough.
  12. I've been looking at the Bumpboxx Flare 8 for maybe four years or so, but have always been too cheap to get it because I just knew it was inferior sounding to my Aiwa Exos9 (which it is). So when Bumpboxx emailed me 60 percent off for a mystery Flare 8, I just couldn't resist. Well I was hoping I wouldn't get UT, but when I came home and saw the Auburn Tigers unit on the porch, I was like, "Fúck me!" And, yes, the idiots sent it right in the box, without an outer box or parcel wrapping. and the mail carrier left it on the porch in broad daylight (idiot). But I digress... As some of you should know, I am a UGA alum, so I was highly annoyed. But, I knew the deal, and I'm cheap when it comes to fully gratuitous luxury items. Well, I immediately started thinking of a solution. I am not finished, as I have more vinyl decals coming and new speaker rings (the ones you see are covered in electrical tape---ugly orange motherfúckers). As you can see from the pics, it still has a legacy of AU (hence the additional decals coming), but I've at least got those ugly grills off. For $160, I'd say that the speaker is worth it by the way. I'll probably have put in another $75-$100 dollars in it once I'm done. It has a few equalizer presets and the sound isn't as clear as I'd like. It's also a big, heavy submitch (try the Flare6 if you don't want to handle it), but still totally worth it. But that's the only way I was going to get a Panthers box anyway, as Bumpboxx has no NFL license. Keep Pounding! I am.
  13. No, he's not, but Tepper has a hard-on for Ben Johnson. I've seen enough of "the next big thing" from the coaching ranks. He needs to actually do something before demanding big money. I wouldn't pay him, but I'm not Tepper. And if he's trying to get us to pay a Tepper tax, that's double the reason to tell him to go fug himself.
  14. Yeah, I'm going to have to hit every link TSJ posts before I respond. He takes a generous amount of license with information and drawing conclusions. That said, I don't think Tepper's going to be outbid.
  15. Lamar wins! That's what he does. He has never looked like trash, which is funny because you're totally discounting the "eye test," and I don't think he'd look like trash here. If you think he'd look like trash here, then you really would have to believe that any QB would look like trash here (which I don't really believe). He may not be in the MVP race if he came here, but no other QB would be in that race either. Here is some food for thought: "One number from his 2019 season that Jackson should eclipse by a significant margin is his passing yardage. He finished with 3,127 yards in 2019 but already has 3,105 this year. The Ringer's Benjamin Solak pointed out that if Jackson continues passing and running at his current pace over the final three weeks of the season, he'll again make history. With 171 passing yards and 97 rushing yards tonight, Lamar Jackson is now on pace for 3,770 passing yards and 900 rushing yards on the season. A 3,700 passing/900 rushing season has never been done before in NFL history. — Benjamin Solak (@BenjaminSolak) December 18, 2023" https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/lamar-jackson-much-better-quarterback-now-than-2019-mvp-season In my opinion, Jackson was largely underrated by many people last off-season, but after this season's performance and seeing how his mere presence affects the Ravens--his threat to run, his running AND his passing--the low-key criticism of him just rings even more hollow. He deserves to be considered a top tier QB in the league because he is a top tier QB in the league.
  16. Well that's not a surprise. It's the guy that he's wanted for more than year. Tepper's going to do whatever it takes to get his guy. The Walmart guys aren't in the market, and other owners probably aren't going to go to that exetent to get Johnson. If you're a betting man, put your money on Johnson to be the next HC.
  17. I really don't think it a going to be as easy as riding "him to the first pick in the 2025 draft," because I don't think that he's as bad as has been displayed in this clusterfug of an offense (hence the "improvement" the last couple of weeks). I think that the worst case scenario is that he plays just good enough to keep us questioning whether he's the long term answer and that we end up having to spend much-needed draft capital to move up to the number one spot just like in the last draft. That's the worst case scenario. All that being said I hope that he proves that he is unquestionably the long term answer. As to Bryce in general, I would classify my feelings about him as skeptically optimistic (which may or may not include his play the last couple of weeks) at best. For me, there are still many questions surrounding his viability as a starter. He may have played his best game (albeit in a losing effort) this past Sunday, but I am going to have to see more of this before I can turn the corner about him being for real.
  18. Yep. It's his money. I just hope that Johnson is worth the hype. If he's not, I'll likely be official full retirement age before the Panthers are worth a damn (provided that the assholes in Washington don't raise it to 70).
  19. True, but it's all about perceived value. The kid should just be happy to get an NFL head coaching gig in my opinion. What has he really proven? Now from his perspective, I can see trying to get everything you can get, but from a thoughtful owner's perspective I'm simply not going to pay that kind of money until I see some concrete results over time.
  20. Piling on in a thread that is all about low hanging fruit--the original post, akin to picking a piece of rotting fruit off the ground and attempting to feed it to others as something worth genuine discussion, is really not worth anyone's time. There are plenty of legit criticisms of Bryce Young, even maybe his TD count, but to just throw cute one-liners out into the aether without context is disingenuous at worst or ignorance at best. The truth of the viability of Bryce Young as an NFL QB still lies somewhere along the spectrum of bad to adequate to good. We'll definitively know where he lands on the target once we have different coaching, along with more talented and experienced players at some point during 2024.
  21. At the end of the day, it's all about value. If Burns wants to be paid more than he's worth, let someone else pay him. How would your pocketbook look--- your overall financial status look, if you shop at Sheetz or Walgreens every time you need groceries just because it's convenient and the only thing open?
  22. Burns is not the prototypically dominant pass rusher whose talent is hard to find, as he disappears way too much.
