  1. There's always a dad bod that bucks the rule.
  2. If Bryce doesn't build those biceps and forearms, I won't believe he can be anything more than a backup.
  3. I was also duped by listening to scouts and pundits. It's one thing to throw to wide-ass open receivers, but some of those adequate passes in college look more like lame ducks in the NFL when people are getting after you.
  4. Mechanics are generally taught at the pro level. The arm issue is a valid one, but I don't know too many 6'3 QBs that have a below average arm. Now someone that appears to be 5'8", a buck eighty five, and has cap pistols for guns just might have some issues. Plenty said it. I didn't necessarily believe it. I was wrong.
  5. After seeing what Young has displayed, i think size is under-blown. At the very least, I will likely never support trading up for an undersized signal caller in the first or second round.
  6. Belichick in the NFCS is going to be a problem. I can see Penix Jr. lighting our ass up...
  7. I understand, but the buck stops with Tepper. I give him no pass.
  8. I haven't read that the deal is done, but that it may be depending upon a second interview.
  9. I'm not thinking a retread. I'm thinking someone like a Penix or Nix on the high side, but more realistically a Rattler on the lower side.
  10. We're the no man's land of the league (perhaps on and off the field). We're in a vertex, to the point of throwing poo up against a wall and seeing what sticks, while spinning around at 200 mph. Can dumb luck even save us now? It looks like that might be what it takes due to the pure inTeptitude.
  11. Not a done deal yet. Might change very soon.
  12. We get it, Scot, we're always last on the list. At this point you're killing us.
  13. I mean, I hear regular people saying this, but I hear execs, analysts and especially players saying that there's no better Xs and Os coach, with the ability to take away your strengths and empower his---with also the ability to adapt situationally---than Belichick. I just can't discount what these guys are saying, and most of them never played for Belichick, but against him.
  14. If I were running things, I just couldn't accept rolling out Young without any young competition (pun not originally intended) to push him. I just couldn't do it.
  15. Taking Richardson after having the opportunity to take Justin Fields was never going to happen with Fitterer at the helm. Fields was the decidedly better prospect. Sigh. We fuged up during Fitterer's tenure on so many levels that it's going to take some special people to eliminate the bad taste in our mouths for the next three seasons--GM, HC and QB. Of that pigskin and gridiron trinity, we just may be on zero (meaning that you know we don't have a two at the moment and I have serious doubts about the third). And it appears that Tepper has the nerve to be wrinkling his nose at at the epitome of a fixer in Harbaugh (not that Harbaugh or anyone of note would ultimately come here). The football moves made since Tepper has been here have been nonsensical. I put at least 50 percent of that on Tepper. He doesn't know how to hire. And anyone not swapping Young for Stroud right now is utterly delusional. It's gotten to the point where you don't even have to say it because everyone knows it. Should've pushed for Ryans too. I suspected it at the time, but I know it now.
  16. It was the meatballs. Tepper should refrain from having interviews over a meal.
  17. Yeah, except for Belichick, Harbaugh and Carroll (and others not employed by the league).
  18. He seems to want the job. That, and/or he believes in being extremely prepared. It is highly impressive. Not to cast and doubt whatsoever, but it puts me in the mind of Bryce at his interview. Luckily, no one expects Champ to suit up.
  19. Schuyler Callahan per Hondo (Raiders beat writer) thinks we're making a strong push for Champ Kelly as GM. Callahan thinks Brandt Tillis may be the guy. If you want to hear, here's the link (start at about 28:40): https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/podcast-panthers-gm-search-picking-up-steam In other news, Graziano predicts Brian Callahan to be the guy at HC. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2024/01/17/espn-insider-prediction-panthers-hc-search-brian-callahan-joe-burrow-bryce-young/ The article mentioned that it's difficult to predict the HC due to the (Tepper) situation. I'd be remiss not to mention that Morgan seems to be high on the list for GM. There are thoughts that Tepper wants to keep him in some capacity.
  20. Steelers are numero uno from what I've been listening to on sports radio. Patriots Ravens Packers Other organizations are doing a good job like the Chiefs as 49ers. It helps when you have a great QB. Standing the rest of time through multiple QBs and still winning is a good barometer.
  21. 20 years ago, I could see that. Now, my brother-in-law who is the top (or second to the top) real estate agent at Dash Carolina says he gets calls from New Yorkers (and others across the country) all the time asking about Clayton.
