  1. Snow, an enima ain't coming. Does that mean we'll continue to be fulla poo?
  2. Totally uncalled for! Imagine questioning Panthers' decisions on a Panthers forum...
  3. Climbing out of poo ain't pretty. I'd imagine that it's easy to slip back in. We need someone that has solid footing. We'll see if Morgan is that guy.
  4. I think that it's possible to at least be competitive next season, but the new FO has to be great, or lucky. When I see players like Rasul Douglas, Eli Apple, D'onta Foreman, Haason Reddick and others playing strong roles for other teams, some of them in the playoffs, I believe that you just have to be able to identify players that can help you achieve an end and also be smarter---mire strategic about keeping them. Of course the main turnaround has to be achieved by actually drafting players that are worth a damn. As far as that's concerned, Morgan is one big question mark (amid a scouting department that is seemingly more questionable). Who knows, maybe someone in the scouting department told Fitt to choose Amon Ra instead of TMJ and he overruled them. We don't know, but we do know that the buck stops with Morgan now. We've gotten ourselves into a situation now where we don't have enough draft picks to make the maximum amount of impact, so I won't be shocked if we were to trade some assets in order to acquire some picks. If you draft right, draft picks can make an immediate impact. All that being said, it's just theory, and like I said: we'd have to be great or lucky.
  5. Well that was pre-season, so to be fair we'll have to wait to see what he says in his initial presser as GM. Some people don't believe we'll learn anything from them, which is quite possible, but I believe that we'll be able to glean something. If he starts shooting sunshine up our ass about how "we're not that far away," that will be the hugest red flag ever. If he says that we have a lot of work to do to get to where we want to be and need to do things differently than we've done it since he's been here, then we might have something to be optimistic about. Mind you, the proof is in the pudding. We'll have to wait to see what transpires in the draft and on the field before any real enthusiasm.
  6. I'm not gonna flood the Huddle with Donnelly vids, but he said that if Canales becomes the HC, then that may be the best signal that Tepper is stepping back, because Canales wasn't even really being mentioned prominently until Morgan came to the forefront and was ultimately hired as GM. That's a thought. Morgan gets his guy even though the Tepper has a hard-on for Ben Johnson.
  7. The media isn't a monolith. That being said, I've mostly heard crickets regarding us these days, other than the butt of jokes. The only thing that's going to change things is some success.
  8. I don't see it as misery. At the end of the day, everyone is hoping that Morgan succeeds, even the skeptics. On an off note, If Tepper was going to hire the guy down the hall, he could've saved all of us the suspense and just promoted Morgan from the get-go. If it's any consolation, Gantt loves the hire...
  9. Honestly, I didn't know that Mike Florio was so passionate about Tepper and his he fact that he's made the Panthers currently "irrelevant," but he's telling the truth. Florio railed on about how the job was so unappealing due to Tepper's meddling (in so many words). He and Charean Williams don't believe that The Panthers or Dan Morgan (who apparently wasn't on anyone else's list as a prospective GM) didn't really have any other options.
  10. Lots of food for thought, but what struck me the most is how Tim Donnelly said that Morgan is starting with strikes already against him. If things begin to go south relatively quickly, do you actually think that Tepper isn't going to be thinking that Morgan wasn't part of the problem and more of the same is incoming? The second thing that struck me is that do you really think that Morgan is ultimately going to stand up to Tepper if he couldn't even stand up to Scott Fitterer? On a positive note, he mentioned how Sportsology led to Lynch & Shannahan, and maybe they can pair a good coach up with our defensive ex-star.
  11. I really didn't learn too much from this. He's just saying the things that he's supposed to say, and I really can't hold him accountable. Now, I will hold him accountable. He can't hide behind anyone.
  12. The only problem is it would seem like the AGM would've been like the fourth person in charge behind Dave, Nicole and Scott. If that's true, then Dan Morgan is a cold M-F-er.
  13. This wouldn't smell so bad if Morgan wasn't doing the firing.
  14. Who knows? Maybe it's the Bryce collateral. Maybe he's a fall guy.
  15. Exactly what I was going to say. He was good at his core job. As for being involved with any of the rest of that stuff, that's on Tepper and Fitterer. It won't take long for Suleiman to get employment.
  16. Just hearing that we drafted TMJ when Amon Ra was available just grinds my gears, and it's not the only miss.
  17. Remember how it was reported that Fitterer had built all these relationships across the league? He was also lauded as an evaluator IIRC. Tepper doesn't seem to be learning anything. He has to hear all the noise...unless he's stuck his fingers in his ears.
  18. Well, I'm of the opinion that fans do deserve answers because we're the ones supporting the teams. If a GM can't answer---however generic--how he'll be different than a failed GM, then fans have a right to voice criticism.
  19. No, it's defined by his, and if he was amen-ing all of those bad decisions, then fans have every reason to be skeptical.
  20. And the fact is, I haven't said that it's a bad hire. I haven't said that Dan hasn't worked hard and all that. What's that got to do with whether or not Morgan is or isn't going to bring something similar to the last few years?
  21. Throwing poo against the wall? Morgan was the Assistant GM, under a GM that lauded collaboration (as well as the HC and owner), during the worst era in franchise history. And you have the nerve to tell me that I am throwing poo against the wall. Dude, come on, I know you're not this obtuse. You're the one with the attitude, "just because we don't agree."
  22. Morgan may get a clear pass from some of you just because he's an ex-player and all that, but he ain't getting one from me. I'm going to wait to see what evolves, for sure, and hope for the best, but considering the circumstances, anyone that blames someone for skepticism is way off base.
