  1. Oh, how sweet it is for you to support Rivera. I am a staunch Rivera supporter. While most were calling for his head, I supported him. That being said, your term "rip" is way overblown. Anyway, lest you forgot from the other thread, let me repeat it: Corey Brown is a smallish, injury prone JAG who is not as fast as his Huddle reputation. His special teams value is damn near nil now and he doesn't have the best hands (although not the worst at 5.6% according to Sporting Charts). His 2.7 YAC is extremely pedestrian, on KB's level, even though he is mistakenly billed by some as fast and/or quick. Regardless of how bad some want him to be Steve Smith or DJax, the guy is easily replaceable. You know how I feel. I know how you feel. It's not a big deal. It will all come out in the wash. If I am wrong about him, then great. I will be the first to sing his praises and admit I was wrong. He's got a long way to go, but you never know.
  2. I love it when people just randomly pull percentages out of their ass when speculating. I'm sure the HC, nor OC don't fit into that equation at all. Oh, yeah, they make up the other 10 percent. Lol. Look, Brown is going to have to compete for his spot. It's not going to be handed to him on a Panthers platter. May the best men win. If he is part of that group, then fine. But let's not act like he has a God given right to anything.
  3. LOLOLOL OL OLOL OL Well, one analytical point of comparison that we have right now is their rookie years, so...
  4. Call Vegas. Some chump who doesn't know how Rivera hangs for dear life onto JAGs might take that bet,.
  5. Seriously, I can't wait for it to get underway. I have a sneaking suspicion that some scripts are going to be flipped after it's all said and done. And speaking of done, Gettleman may not even be done yet which will throw another FA receiver into the mix. I may not be enamored with the group right now, but competition is always a good thing. Hopefully it's a fierce one.
  6. Nicks didn't have great production, but he did have some great catches towards the end of the regular season into the playoffs. He flashed his old self. He was just marginalized in Indy's system.
  7. Did we just get outfoxed or out-balled? Looks like both.
  8. You should have made people guess. I knew exactly who you were talking about.
  9. I am gonna have to figure out how to add "Cam" to my dictionary in Lollipop. The damned thing keeps changing it to "Can". When I long press it it doesn't give me an option. Of course for some reason I am much more prone to errors using a pad or phone anyway. Oh well. Just lots of edits.
  10. Also think about all the weapons that some of these guys have had versus what Cam has had.
  11. Simply put, you have to use something, and the passer rating is about as simple and impartial as it gets. There is just no perfect way to do it, but to use a stat that can be applied across the board, regardless of system, is about the best and most easily understandable. The QB has to be efficient regardless. Of course there are the other factors and intangibles that you may not be able to quantify, but some things have to be judged by the eye test and the gut. It is notable that QBs on the list with the highest career passer ratings largely have the best winning percentages and/or championships (mind you I am referring to the relatively modern day QBs). I don't believe that it's a coincidence, and neither do the experts. One thing I will point out, which is a valid criticism, is that it doesn't take running into account, but it's really not about running (which we know adds great value to Cam's status). Moreover, I believe that people should give credit to Cam as being a better passer than some would lead us to believe. Basically, I think it is just a way to put some more perspective into the argument that Cam is more good than mediocre. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_career_passer_rating_leaders But here is the wiki explaining the formula, history and theory behind it. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passer_rating
  12. Moreover, are you trying to suggest that Foles, Kap, Griffin, and Wilson are better than Andre Luck? Some people may think so, but most don't.
  13. Sorry. Try again. QBs must throw throw at least 1,500 passes for the regular season, and 150 attempts for the postseason, before their stats can even qualify for NFL career passer rating rankings.
  14. Ok, so you want to play the peer game. Here are your rankings (the first three are tops of all time): Aaron Rodgers 106.0 Tony Romo 97.6 Peyton Manning 97.5 Tom Brady 95.9 Philip Rivers 95.7 Drew Brees 95.4 Ben Roethlisberger 95.9 Matt Ryan 91.1 Matt Schaub 89.9 Andrew Luck 86.6 Carson Palmer 86.3 Cam Newton 85.4 Now suffice it to say that Schaub has seen better days, and if you take into account that a lot of these guys are probably not going to be around in three years, who do you think is going to be near the top of the league? Then, again for shits and giggles, just think of the weapons that some of these QBs have had over the years and compare them to what Cam has had. You got to be kidding me, dude. His passer rating is not that far off from Andrew Luck, the purported gold standard of the young QBs. Like I said, give Cam better conditions, or at least those equal to some of his peers before you throw him under the bus. What you're trying to insinuate about him just being not that good is totally false, and that's before you take his running into account.
  15. Kid brought a cap gun to the fight, but he didn't realize that I had a 12 gauge.
  16. It may surprise some if you that through the 2014 season, Cam ranks 24th on the list for career passer rating. This with arguably suspect protection and receivers. So give the guy a break, and let's wait for a more optimum environment before we throw him under the bus. BTW, Tannehill is number 31 on that list.
  17. I am fully aware that our defense played great football for the last four games. That's not even debatable. But, did he improve or not? For shits and giggles, since you're so into numbers and extrapolation, how did our receiving corps do during that four game stretch, and extrapolate that through a full season. And were you a Jake Delhomme fan by chance? Were you able to watch Elway, Marino, or Favre? Did you see Flacco and Eli Manning win the Super Bowl? You ever heard of Staubach, Unitas or Jurgensen? Well, that 87.4 percent passer rating in those last four games was higher than the career passer rating for all of them. And the passer rating, besides winning of course, is arguably the most important stat of them all.
  18. I guess that you, and others I might add, just think that it's a coincidence that as Cam's protection got better, he got better last year.
  19. I have been suspect at times about Cam as a QB at times, but I am not going to label him as trash or the best thing since sliced bread until I see him in a good situation. I have seen him do some amazing things during his career, and I am surely not going to give up on him, or talk down about him until he gets a weapons upgrade.
  20. And you just disregard the other years. Comparing careers is more accurate in my estimation, but continue on with your agenda.
  21. I have my eye on him. From all accounts he is the epitome of a solid receiver--not great, but solid. His pedestrian combine numbers don't really give him justice as far as his work ethic, football savvy, and ability to move the chains. That being said, I would still take Perriman or Agholor over Hardy because of the explosiveness factor.
