  1. I know, right? A 4th rounder is only when it really starts to hurt a little bit.
  2. I know that Lance has some accuracy issues, but I don't know that I'd go as far as saying that he's "not a very accurate passer." I think some of you are overthinking this. He completed 67+% of his passes without an INT! I don't believe it's as easy as saying "He had wide open windows!" Sure he did sometimes, but all of his passes weren't targeting the broad side of a barn.
  3. It's a tough decision, for sure. There's a lot to like about Mond, as he makes some excellent throws, then will turn around and throw a stinker. Mond's trajectory is going to come down to how he is developed and whether or not he responds to coaching and teaching well enough to change some bad tendencies (which I hope aren't just natural and set in stone), the main one IMO being his locking onto his first read like there's no other option. That's a huge issue, but if he can fix it--transform--which may be asking too much--then he could be a helluva steal! If he can't, he's a backup, pure and simple! That being the question, I'd probably have a hard time taking him in the second at the expense of another more consistently solid talent at another position (like Rondale Moore for example)! As always though, I'll trust Rhule and company to get it right. Mond will likely need to sit an entire season before even thinking about letting him play.
  4. Y'all do know you're at odds with some Huddlers' (not to mention any names) favorite QB prognosticator...? https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports.com/college/texas-am/Article/Kellen-Mond-Texas-AM-football-NFL-Draft-ranking-Chris-Simms-161902517/Amp/ How do you reconcile what Chris Simms and his seemingly crystal crystal ball is saying with what you're saying? And yes, there is a hint of sarcasm, but I'm genuinely interested in the answer?
  5. I only found the one clip on YouTube. Other than that, only articles.
  6. I love the thought of any of the guys besides Jones, as I see him as athletically limited and not much of an upgrade to Teddy, if he's an upgrade at all. Maybe in mentality (which could be huge or not). The others have question marks, and I'm going to have to trust that if one or two of them is available at 8 (or even 4 or 5), that Rhule and company will do what's best. I can see the talent and theory behind taking any of them, but I still feel that Lance has the highest upside, and as such would be the QB that is the closest to the one that I love. But there are things I love about Wilson and Fields too!
  7. I doubt he has Lance last. If he does, it's because of Lance's real or perceived need for development (which is his biggest knock). I have read that Lance can fit any system. I've also read that he would be great for Brady's system because he can push the ball down field with relative ease.
  8. Per Tim Weaver and our friends at Panthers Wire, the Panthers have met with Oregon CB Deommodore Lenoir, Boise St CB & KR Avery Williams, and my favorite, Charleston WR Mike Strachan, an under-the-radar, big-bodied, receiver with some upside who has been mentioned here in the draft forum. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/31/panthers-2021-nfl-draft-virtual-meetings-avery-williams-deommodore-lenoir-mike-strachan/
  9. 4 years, 69.2 mil. 37 guaranteed! Yeah--just a guess--17-20 mil will be the market for the top receivers this offseason and next. I wonder where Skeletor will fall in their budget. Anyway, we might get into a fix ourselves depending upon how the s ason goes. Two guys will be looking to get paid some more money, and rightfully so. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31172357/seattle-seahawks-giving-wr-tyler-lockett-692m-extension-source-says
  10. My point really is that the term "game manager" is somewhat nebulous and will vary depending upon who you are talking to. In my mind a "gunslinger" is one who has the goods, knows he has the goods, and is not afraid to pull the trigger when the opportunity arises, and does it with success more times than not.
  11. Most, if not all, QBs worth a damn are game managers, and every QB takes risks.
  12. A game manager who will sling the ball down field with managed aggression if you allow him to (and many times, even when you don't).
  13. Yeah, I want a combination! And I want someone who not only can chuck it deep, but who also times his throws well enough to hit the small windows in such a way that maximizes the receivers ability to gain the most yardage. Teddy is too scared to even do that.
  14. Let's get our franchise LT!
  15. Well, a 4th is better than nothing. I think they'd be giving him an opportunity to move on, and they could move on as well without distraction. I'm speculating, and trying to see things from his perspective, so take this with a grain of salt: At this point, Minshew isn't an aging vet resolved with his fate as a backup. He still has his prime to look forward to. I could be wrong, but I don't think he's necessarily going to hand Lawrence the keys with a smile so to speak. He transferred from ECU to Washington State because he had a good shot to actually play, so he's not necessarily of the mindset to just hold a clipboard until he's gotten his fair shake. Sure, ultimately the Jags could hold him there, but that would be pretty low IMO, and may cause a little bit of frustration on his part, which could mushroom into something else.
  16. People keep thinking that the Jags aren't trading Minshew, but they need and want draft capital. It really only makes sense that the only reason that they would trade for C.J. Beathard on a two-year, 5 million dollar deal is if they were planning to trade Minshew (who would actually be cheaper). I'm pretty sure they are done with Minshew.
  17. My late mother-in-law used to say, "What you don't see makes a whole 'nother world."
  18. It was thinking, but it was more wishful thinking than anything else! Terrible contract!
  19. I know what it will be if the towel boy on the gulf coast can put his legal issues behind him.
  20. Hey, it's true! If we can get even even 4th or 5th WR reps out of this guy, or anything good on ST, then it's a slick move. If we never get anything out of the kid, at least we know that Fitt and Rhule are actually doing what they're saying in regards to searching down every avenue, and, perhaps more importantly, thinking outside the damned box! I appreciate that.
  21. Tell that to all the Americans who had the choice of voting between two old farts who were both accused of sexual deviance! I think BOTH were guilty of that (and probably more inside or outside of a sexual nature). The bar of criminality is obviously the litmus test. We don't exist in a fantasy world!
  22. Honestly, I wouldn't care about a suspension unless it was like two years or something. It's just something that naturally decreases the cost for his services. Now, a ban... that's entirely different! Any deal I'd make would be contingent upon him playing in 2022. I know some people don't want to hear it, but he may be one helluva bargain once this is behind him. I don't see how the Texans could ask for the farm at this point, and he better feel lucky if he still has a job.
  23. I'll just add "perceived" talent aspect. Part of that equation should be decision making and ball security. Minshew may even the score a little bit on that front. Darnold has been a bit of a turnover machine! That's his biggest red flag for me! Minshew was his rookie season, but he cut turnovers considerably in 2020.
  24. Well looks like I'm in line with some GM's thinking on Darnold's value. I'm thinking Minshew's less. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2938677-sam-darnold-trade-rumors-multiple-gms-reveal-their-market-value-for-jets-qb
