Nicole Tepper on the proudest moment since owning the team….

But Arrowhead has grass. -
Are we low-key tanking? Donnelly thinks we're half-tanking.

I think that Canales can talk someone into coming here, especially if we show some improvement. If we overpay people to play here (beginning with 0), then for all his talk, Morgan is full o' sh¡t. We are not in a position to be overpaying for services. That's part of the reason we're in this mess. It's got to be a new day. If Morgan starts to run things like Rhule or Fitterer, we're fuged (and that was the greatest fear with the hiring of Morgan). I'm unwilling to accept that reality until it smacks me in the face. -

Taking it on the chin from a cap standpoint one year to get to the next, can be an element of tanking as well. Just saying. -

Not that I totally agree with you, because I see tanking as sacrificing a season (as well) in order to get better via the draft, but Donnelly expressly mentioned having the best draft position each round as being a part of the FO's thinking. -

If they have, it's been by mistake. This would be the first time that we've done it purposely during Tepper's ownership. The fact that he would rubberstamp this or even embrace it would be akin to a paradigm shift in his bald head. -
Interesting theory, maybe with some elements of truth. Do y'all think that the FO is accepting our fate for 2024---taking the maximum direct impacts to the cap---in order to really begin the resurrection process in earnest for 2025? As an aside (I said something similar last year) some of you better roll back your expectations for your own sanity. The coming season is not looking good. In some ways, it may be worse than the last. I hope not. But if Burns ultimately plays on the tag and we don't have any money and possess as little picks as we do, no one should expect much. We're going to have to take joy in baby steps and falling down, trying to get up and falling down. I mean we're going to need magic and miracles to even fool ourselves this year. If Tim Donnelly's theory is right, then perhaps we'll see an offense that takes baby steps forward, even if it is at the expense of the defense. I wonder what Evero will think.

This is the way that many NFL types think of Brian Burns, not what some Huddlers are trying to throw out there.

Carolina Panthers will have trouble building roster for 2024

Well she still could've said something different. Maybe something like: "I'm proud that we continue to believe in this team and have the "sticktoittiveness" to continue to get over this rough period and build a consistently top-tier franchise on and off the field." -

She's going to be dragged! And honestly, She and Dave deserve it. -
I doubt that happens, but, even still, what do you think that people mean when they say that the position is deep? It's not a bad thing.
-
At this point, I just can't see how WR won't be the BPA. It's that deep. I mean, some weird stuff has gotta happen for WR not to be the BPA. And it's being said that the over-drafting of QBs is going to cause some of these quality receivers to slide down.

Now I don't have to hit the link. That's just the epitome of the state of this franchise. -

Just so you know, I reserve the right to put this GIF to good use from this day forward. -
Just a few spoilers (paraphrasing) Smitty was surprised that receivers weren't better prepared. Speed was emphasized over technique. Adonai Mitchell showed some inconsistency, as did Keon Coleman. They didn't do bad, they just didn't necessarily help themselves. Troy Franklin? Nah, bro! Legette may have helped himself a little. Which team will over-draft Worthy to be a WR1? Odunze helped himself the most. Perhaps the most important nugget at ~12 minute mark: You armchair scouts trying to tell him that he didn't know what he was talking about in regards to Mingo need to chill (or STFU). Essentially 32 teams had Mingo rated higher than Tank Dell. One of the problems with Mingo is that our coaches didn't know what the hell they were doing, as Mingo excels at outbreaking routes as opposed to in-breaking routes which is how we were trying to use him. On an off note: The X is the speed guy. The Z is more of the route technician. ------------ My final thoughts: Take it all FWIW. I'm still listening to what Smitty has to say with ears wide open. He knows more about scouting receivers than all of us. And, yeah, though AD Mitchell was inconsistent, I hope that he's still on the board when we pick. It's the coaches' job to polish him up. If still there, it's going to be between him and Ladd McConkey at 33...and maybe Xavier Legette. A lot of this stuff will come down to individual workouts.

What comment?

I love the thinking, I just don't see how we're going to presently swing it. That's what Tillis was hired for though: to maneuver the cap. Unlike yesterday, I feel better about being able to get something done with DB.
-
I mean, we could see anything. At least wait until after the draft, rookie camp and OTAs before embarking upon great expectations... But, just to play along---today---I see three wins as our ceiling. Sorry. That's it. Three!
-
And, for the record, I think way more people will be jumping for joy if we can trade Burns than keep him, because they realize that the draft capital is more important to a team that is rebuilding.
-
It's wholly unrealistic to think we were just going to simply let him go on his merry way without franchising him or coming to a longer term agreement.
-
And @Jon Snow, I don't believe I have ever seen anyone on the Huddle refer to Burns as "elite."
