I mean, there are worse things. I'm never gonna get upset over trying to acquire a talented wide-out. In on every deal. Somebody (maybe a WR) would likely have to go is all. I get that there are other more pressing needs, but opportunities at those positions have yet to present themselves. When and if they do, we'll consider them.

Ahhh, the strong-willed, independent little dog, that can appear a little aloof at times, that thinks they are bigger than they are. I was going to try and get one, but my wife says no to house dogs.

Could Buffalo be without their punter tomorrow?
top dawg replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't believe any woman knowingly wants to be raped. But we all know, that there are bad actors in the world that prey upon women. Grown women who are more worldly and have some experience will know not to take a drink from a stranger, or will go to a party with a friend (or friends) who will look out for one another to keep them out of bad situations like the one that took place. I have seen women protect one another from potential predators. That's what we teach the young women in our family. A minor likely has less experience and the forethought to even consider such things depending on how they are coming up. -

Woman? It sounds like a girl. I know that it's bad either way, but a minor just doesn't have the experience needed to not put themselves in such a situation. That was bad, and I don't see how the Bills haven't already cut the guy. -
Good point. I was thinking more about that supposedly deep QB class. Some of those guys seem to have great potential. I could see a team balking at Mayfield and going with one of these rookies.

It may come down to money. That's why I really think that he's going to really have to show something. If he doesn't, his market will be lukewarm to cold. If he does--and I mean really ball out--then there could be bidding wars. In that case, we'll probably win if we want to. Baker will have to be the franchise QB that people thought that he could be though.

Questionable work ethic vs questionable injury history. I don't know. Thank heavens for Shi (and the Wright kid, whom I think deserves more appreciation, but may not get it).
-
He was good for a rookie. If you can play, you can play. All the excuses for a sophomore slump and a vet QB who decided to play in his 4th year notwithstanding injury doesn't work for me. Moreover, Kurt Warner (& some others) said that the injury to his non-throwing shoulder wasn't a legit excuse. We'll see what he has this year. If he balls out, we can talk. I'm hopeful, but Baker has to prove he's more than just an inconsistent, somewhat above average QB who is mindbogglingly erratic when crunch time comes.

It was good for a rookie.

Nah, he's really only had one good year. If he can show promise like that one, then great. Two out of the other three were pedestrian, and last year was bad. I would only pay him if he can show the promise of his playoff season.
-
Oh, a diva problem child. If true, now it all makes sense.

I don't understand why they haven't used him. There has to be a story. Is he not smart enough to pick up the play book? Does he not block well? I've seen him make a couple of plays one of the times he was in (due to injuries to starters). As for TMJ, his preseason last year was better than what Mims has ever done, but availability...

I think the jury is most definitely out. This season will tell us a lot. One thing though: coaching in the NCAA and in the NFL are practically two different things, because you're going from kids to grown men.
-
I mean, yeah, Corral was most certainly a pawn, intended or not. He became an afterthought as soon as Baker was signed.
-
I know, right. It's platitudes. Everyone knows that Darnols is a nice kid. The problem is--at least in my mind--is that he doesn't appear to have much fight in him. I'm not saying it's his true nature, but he almost seems too damned willing to accept his fate--the ceiling of expectations that people have for him, instead of doing whatever he can to bust through. He accepts his lot as a backup QB in the NFL with a smile. Well, it has been called "the best job in sports."
-
Let's not get carried away. Robbie had an excellent camp. Shi is playing for the slot role, and rightfully so; that's where he's at his best.
-
Well, his tape wasn't good. But, it's not like the kid was put into a position to succeed. I'd argue to the contrary. We'll really only know what Corral can do when he's not treated as an afterthought.

All you have to do is simply read scouting reports. Your take on his arm is pure bullshit.

Aqib Talib is a HORRIBLE HUMAN WHO I HOPE GOES TO HELL
top dawg replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Perhaps for someone that doesn't have a strong family. I've nearly always lived on the other side of the tracks (so to speak). My dad's peeps were known for violence to be perfectly honest, but only if you fuged with them. If your "friends" weren't right, they weren't tolerated (because they will bring you down). -
Back in the day, they called themselves "USC", and you're telling me that now they refer to themselves as "Carolina"? Damn, they've been doing this sh¡t for decades. If they don't want to say "South Carolina", then they can shorten it up to"SCarolina".
-
I think the jury is still out. Two quality starters in a draft is actually good (not to mention that I suspect that a couple of players might be doing better had they went somewhere else).

It was all so unnecessary. Perhaps he'll finally change his ways. If this doesn't do it, nothing will. PSA to you young cats: You gotta be wary of brothers like that. And you'll know; they give you that bad news vibe. You steer clear of guys like that. -
Good comeback. People act like it's all or nothing with Rhule--like he's beyond reproach--like the decisions that he makes have no repercussions or consequences in the moment, much less long term. That's hilarious. And I'm not a Rhule hater. I've consistently said that it's fair to give him a third year. One thing about it: NFL teams will be infinitely more interested in TMJ as a prospective WR than Matt Rhule as a prospective coach.

I kind of like the Wright kid over Zylstra and Kirkwood.
