He definitely has that Dawg in him as indicated by his play during his senior season. On an off note: I happen to know a guy from Mullins. He's country, but he doesn't sound like X.

Wouldn't be opposed to him, but no way in the second round. He's not uber physical, needs to be more deceptive with his footwork, is below average in blocking, does not excel at YAC, and has a bit of an injury history.

That's not childish at all. It may not be wise, appropriate, or smart, but that's only an opinion. Craig Young is not employed by the Panthers, and as such is not bound by their policies or rules. We live in a free country and people have a right to answer polls or give their opinions. BTW, If execs are drafting Legette based on a tweet by Craig Young---really unbelievable---they're damned fools.

Well if that's the definition of a CB1, sure (I should've correlated this to a QB1 vs QB2). I just mean that he's a starter. All that Pit needs is a CB2.

Dad deleted his tweet. Someone got wind of something. Perhaps he thought about it and figured that he shouldn't publicly be weighing in, or maybe he got tired of jerks giving what amounted to as unrelated responses. It's probably a good thing either way.

I don't see "problems" with Johnson other than his "locker room issue." He's a damned good receiver for 10 mil. I think Johnson is a slightly above average CB1 when on the field, definitely average. Now I think he's streaky, and I do suspect that he'd make a better CB2. I also think that part of that streakiness is due to him being hurt, what seems like more than a average, during games and not necessarily for whole games, but we do know that he has been out whole games as well. I certainly think that he's worth 4.75 mil. I don't really think there is a definitive winner of the trade on paper. I mean, if someone cares enough to see the outcome after the next season, perhaps we'll see who "won" this trade then. On it's face, I think that people tend to appreciate offensive skill positions more, but serious football people realize that CB is very important. Moving up in the draft can be very important as well (even late). But at the end of the day, I think that both fan bases should be content.

I mentioned that in this thread and another one last week, but at the end of the day, two excellent route runners, one having legit speed is not a bad thing to have, as a matter of fact it could make for a nightmare for the opposition. That being said, a bigger, taller, faster prototypical receiver has theoretical advantages over a smaller one (except if you're like AB, Tyreek, Waddle, Olave, OBJ, etc.).

You don't have to "respect" the man's takes, but you (as "you" in general) so don't have to make decidedly cheeky and unrelated remarks. It's childish to be perfectly honest.

AD is faster and more twitchy than Legette for sure. He's big with a large catch radius also. There's a lot to work with. He may not be as physical at the point of the catch though. I've consistently said that if AD or Ladd or there, it will be one of the two. There may be some reduancy with Ladd now that we picked up DJ (though only for the short term right now). I've also said that there's an outside chance that it could be Legette (due to his motor and prowess at the catch point). Keon is someone else's cup of tea. Other than great size, I don't see it. Ladd is the most polished of them all, and has legit speed and quickness. I'm not gonna lie though, I might pick AD too.

Craig Young picks Legette I mean, I could see it. He is a bigger receiver unlike Ladd and just as fast. He's probably more of a dawg than inconsistent Mitchell, and is a more versatile route runner. His muscular frame isn't really twitchy though. We'll see. Other than size, McConkey would have to be the pick IMO. We'll see.

I was raised at a time when basically all QBs sat for a year or two (sometimes more) before they were handed the reins. Fields will likely get a second chance to be a starter. Fields went from a horrific situation (somewhat like Bryce 's) to a very stable and good situation from the looks of things. He can actually comfortably learn. Sure, his odds aren't great at the moment to become a viable starter, but that's not exactly going out on a limb, but I like the approach to him and possible future success in Pittsburgh much better than in the Windy City. The fact is is that the Bears have been a historically dumb franchise and the Steelers have been a historically smart one. I'm not going to read too much into a conditional 6th. The Bears were being way too unreasonable when all the wheelings and dealings began---I never thought they'd get a day one or two pick---and teams don't like to be jerked around when they are planning their futures this time of year. It's a reset, hopefully the right way for Fields.

When you're an EDGE, one-trick ponies can do very well financially. That's just the way it is.

It's likely a combination of the two. You also have to marry your finances with your positional priorities in general. It's a part of establishing an overall team culture as well, so you probably should be taking that into consideration when thinking about what's happening.

These grades are by one or several draftniks. Taking them as absolutes isn't the correct way to look at them. They are more like a general guide. Generally, teams are going to draft in fitting with their needs. Of course they could fall in love with a player and draft them regardless, but doing that can be an even riskier proposition than drafting in general. Of course if teams need a QB, they're going to draft one above all if they perceive that that QB has immediate starter's potential because QB is the most important position in team sports. As we know, sometimes they draft them even if they don't plan to start them immediately. That's how important the position is. If things are close, which they are in the case of Williams, Nabers and Harrison, the QB is likely always going to be taken by a QB needy team. And don't get it twisted, even the players down the list could end up being better than those at the top. Such is the draft. Draft grades aren't media-driven.

I was thinking that the moves the Steelers have made have everything to do with trying to appease Tomlin and get him to stay.
