  1. Reddick didn't want to be here. Between Burns and Reddick, Burns was always the keeper.
  2. That's fair. I just wouldn't count him out just yet. His history has proven that he's not one to be counted out.
  3. Some of the responses in this thread are as ignorant as some of the responses in all the Baker-is-our-savior threads. The fact is that Corral got two-four reps in training camp per day. The now-fired coach, whom many of you thought was a moron, tried to sell people on the belief that mental reps could even be better than real reps. Corral was injected into games behind a sieve for an O-line, where he was destined to run for his life and a line that directly lead to him getting run over and injured, because the line got run over. Those players aren't even on the team (and I'd bet on any team). Corral was NOT put into a position to succeed; he was put into a position to fail by an abject failure of a coach. He was an afterthought because the failure of a coach didn't think about giving him a fair opportunity (and pretty much said so expressly and with actions). Corral was NOT developed and really not allowed to develop the right way in ANY shape, fashion or form. You may be able to draw some definitive conclusions about Corral from such a train wreck and essentially dereliction of duty by the HC, but I'm not. It makes about as much sense as the way Corral was mishandled and, incorrectly calculating that QBs that virtually no one wanted to trade for were the Panthers' saving grace. Corral's talent didn't just melt into nothingness. And, yes, he has pro-level traits regardless of any stupidity that you may have heard otherwise. Sure, he has to be developed. Sure he has an injury that is a big obstacle to that development. And sure, there may be a talent that is better than Corral in the 2023 draft. But, he may develop, his young body can get over injury relatively quickly, and, yes, there is the possibility that he can ultimately beat out anyone coming out of the draft. These things may not be likely, but they are possibilities.
  4. I agree with you somewhat, but you must acknowledge that there is more than one way to build a successful team. Indeed, each season is a puzzle that has to be solved. By the way, we don't know what type of QB we're going to get. Highly drafted QBs fail also. We have two on our roster for goodness sakes. Hopefully we can get "the one", or hopefully Corral will be developed the right way and become our guy, but nothing is guaranteed. In the meantime, you just keep building with BPAs high, peppered with more developmental talent that may turn into starters or quality complementary players day three.
  5. Take as many dart throws as you can. No coach worth his salt is going to care about a first round or third round distinction. Furthermore, Corral may not even be ready to see the field by July, much less draft season.
  6. I'm really going to have to see more from everyone for the remainder of the season, and study scouting reports before I come to a conclusion. I like some things that I've seen from Levis and Levis (but NOT enough to say they are any better of a prospect than Corral, I might add). Hooker looked impressive from what I saw last week.
  7. I just listened to this. For the record, I love Fitterer's general approach! Hell, if I didn't know better, I'd think that he was reading my mind.
  8. I agree with your reasoning, but I'm not taking a third round pick for Burns. He's worth at least a first (with multiple picks). I'd try to pair him with a stud rookie next season if I couldn't get what I want. The third will come in the form of a compensatory pick if need be in 2024.
  9. Jaycee Horn just might be generational based on his small body of work. Sure he's had a few injuries, but he's still so young that I'm willing to take my chances. Burns is good based on his more extensive body of work, but he isn't generational.
  10. My thing is that what people don't seem to want to acknowledge is that there is more than one way to get to and win a chip, and the formula is not going to be exactly the same every window or possibly even every year depending upon the pieces that you have. Each year is a puzzle unto itself, and the good coaches and GMs adapt perennially and situationally. We've seen teams win with star QBs, washed-up QBs and even backup QBs win relatively recently. We've seen teams win without stud RBs as recently as last year (and not even talking about the postseason). I'm not going to get into a long, dragged-out discussion, but the secret sauce is situational and adaptive acquisition, management and play-calling. As for picks, sure they don't guarantee anything, but that includes first rounders as well. I understand the argument that higher picks lead to a higher success rate, but I've seen FOs do some Hella work with later round picks, castoffs and UDFAs playing at relatively high levels. Our GM comes from that type of culture. Basically, success and failure are baked into the drafting process. Unfortunately you're not gonna always be right, but the more darts that you have, the more likely you're going to be able to hit on starting level and or complementary players to get you to where you want to go if your GM and scouting department do their jobs well.
  11. I suspect Chuba is the better runner.
  12. The fact is (as usual), some Huddlers were way overrating what was considered an acceptable return for CMC. A first rounder was not especially realistic given the teams that really wanted him and thought that he could put them over the top. That being said, we got decent compensation that allows us a measure of maneuverability and flexibility if we so choose.
  13. Not really the point I was making, but OK...
  14. The tank is on. This dude just accounted for 75 percent of our offense. He was indeed our leading receiver--well, actually Robbie was technically, since CMC is an RB. We should be fairly sad on offense, and we were already poo.
  15. He's probably happy as hell. I can't imagine.
  16. We can easily use those to move up if we so choose.
  17. CMC wanted to GTFOutta here. I don't blame him. Good luck.
  18. I did miss halftime, but I haven't heard them say anything during the broadcast. It is real though as Underdog sent me a notification.
  19. I'll take him for a 6th and 7th...
  20. The replay showed how awful his decision-making was on that one. "I think I'll throw into triple coverage!"
  21. Olave looks better than any receiver we got. Excellent route runner!
  22. Moore has never had the route running skills of a true WR1. He should not lead a receiving room, he should be a part of it. If he could play with a true WR1, then we may see him reach a higher ceiling, but we may have seen his ceiling trying to play as a WR1.
  23. TMJ should be, if nothing else for eval purposes, though on paper he is also the most talented and is suited to playing on the outside. There is a case for Laviska, but I think he's a bit slow and not as sure-handed. Shi drops too many passes. There is a reason why Higgins has always been a 4/5. He's not breaking any starters down on a regular basis.
