  1. Totally different situation. Not even apples to oranges, but remember the "unicorn! "
  2. A unicorn, huh? Oooookay. By the way, Prescott didn't really win anything pretty easily; Romo got injured during the preseason and that's what gave Prescott his chance.
  3. First off, Corral has barely been on an NFL field. Secondly, the kid has overcome significant obstacles in the past. Third, I haven't heard anyone saying Corral is a sure thing, but only that he shouldn't be counted out. Fourth, the wise person realizes that you can't paint QBs with broad brushes based on the round in which they were drafted. Fifth, there appears to be many more counting Corral out than those giving him a chance. Lastly, I'd say Dak is the latest mid round QB who's had some staying power.
  4. I agree with you to a great extent, but a few tried to tell people pre-draft that Willis was way too raw and that it was frankly ludicrous to consider him on day 1, 2, or at all. As big of a fan as I am of Corral, even I said that he would need development (which he didn't get at all). The same with Justin Fields or any QB transitioning to the pros. It's ultimately guesswork, but there are things that one can gather from college tape, circumstances and context. That's what serious and critical analysis is all about.
  5. I knew that someone was going to make the comparison, but I'm a little surprised it's you. I don't think that it's generally smart to have all your eggs in one basket, but I'm also not going to compare apples to oranges either. Just saying.
  6. Seven games (three starts), 42.8 passer rating, 50.8 completion percentage, zero TDs, 3 INTs, 4.5 yards per completion, 17 is his long, zero 100 yard games and a 12.1 QBR...That's rough to conceive from a guy on any level of football.
  7. That doesn't sound like a meddler, it sounds like am owner of a football team hiring an HC, which is customary and their right, to be perfectly honest. Meddling is trying to be the HC/GM yourself, and running roughshod over the people that you hired to do the jobs and essentially neutering them by undermining their authority.
  8. Look, we all need to pray that Tepper makes the right hire, and that the new coach in collaboration with Fitterer knows what the hell they're doing. That being said, If Fitterer and the new coach like Levis, then depending upon how the draft goes, maybe we'll take a swing. Tepper's modus operandi, thus far, doesn't include a gun to his hirelings' heads or arm twisting.
  9. That could have easily been Rhule reacting to the pressure of failing. Why would you keep on doing the same thing and getting the same result? Moreover, the owner has a right to give input and suggest anything he wants, particularly when the bus is headed straight towards a ditch right before our very eyes.
  10. Yes. It has been reported several times that Tepper lets his hires run things pretty much as they see fit. We've also seen it in action on draft night. Furthermore, no one here has presented any credible evidence that Tepper meddles. None! That's not to say that he won't ever do it, especially after the miserable Rhule era, but so far there is no indication that he's a meddlesome owner. If Tepper was some meddling owner as has been incorrectly stated here, we would have Justin Fields, point blank and period!
  11. PiƱiero and Gonzalez should compete for the job. That's my final answer.
  12. People here seem to assume that Wilks would just get new coordinators. I'll believe it when I see it. They've "turned it around" as a unit, so I just don't see him axing the guys that helped him get the job.
  13. I'm with you on that, but I think that we should do legitimate research on other prospects before handing Wilks the job.
  14. The article in general is speculation. I'm also not sure why Tepper or anyone else in the FO would let people know that he wants Levis. Sounds a little fishy to me.
  15. Players wanted to keep grass at BoA Stadium too, as opposed to playing on turf. How'd that work out?
  16. Tepper has kept his nose out of the management of the football team
  17. You damn right. I never believed the hype about Seattle or Detroit, and I felt that the Panthers were being somewhat disrespected, or at least underappreciated by talking heads, if not our own fans. We were never as bad as the product that Rhule was responsible for, and though we've been inconsistent, I think that the Panthers have shown enough to legitimately give people reason to believe that, though we may not be a legit top contender, we can legitimately hang with the middling teams of the 2022 season, if not best them altogether depending upon how we match up. I expected us to beat the Lions at home, and I also figured that we had enough to beat the Seahawks on any given Sunday (just like we have a shot against the Bucs). Matt Rhule did a number--a mind trick, if you will--on people's perception of this team. We aren't world beaters, but we were never bottom feeders either. Throw out the games that Rhule was responsible for, and you can see that what I say is reflected in our play and record since then.
  18. In my mind, Wilks has beaten teams that he's supposed to beat, but he let some get away by being out-coached, flat out conservative and either unwilling to, or incapable of, adapting (mainly Pittsburgh and Atlanta). This makese skeptical that he can compete with the best strategists in the league. But, if we hire him, I'll most certainly support him (until I don't). Sometimes when you get what you ask for, you get what you ask for. Lets not forget: Pittsburgh basically beat the poo out of us, as did Cinci even more so.
  19. I have always said that he is our most explosive back, and it's true. He plays above his weight consistently. He can and does run between the tackles. Give him some credit. The only real knock on him are his hands, and those even look a little better as of late. I remember a few (maybe a lot) calling him JAG, clowning him for being picked by Mrs. Rhule, or just saying that he shouldn't be on an NFL roster. What say you now?
  20. To be for real, Terrace should've stepped up this season, particularly being that he was once thought to have more talent than Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson, or at least be in the same league (even as he was hurt and they were killing it at LSU), but he's been somewhat lackluster so far--not what you'd expect from a top echelon receiver in the league. So, I'm skeptical. His only saving grace is that he's played in not so great circumstances with not-so-great QBs. My expectations are beginning to deteriorate though. We'll see next year.
  21. My take: Wilks is too far down that list to be taken seriously.
