D.J. has a good approach to the game, and a good perspective on the preseason. Plus, he wears flashing glasses while catching a tennis ball to prepare for the game. He is thoughtful and mature about his answers. His demeanor kind of makes me think that he'll one day be on the sidelines. If you haven't listened, you may find the young man enlightening.

Now I'm really not a betting man, but I surely wouldn't bet on us making the dance if I were. https://www.oddsshopper.com/articles/nfl/nfl-predictions-2023-nfc-south-preview-futures-picks-b41

I mean, there may be some talking heads who picked us, but those that run the numbers in Vegas did not.

You have to get the trade value, and it should be immediate. I think that smart people are expecting growth within two years. One year, is a great expectation.

Waller is a stud (when he's on the field). He was the one making the plays (along with Jones). Let's not forget that an O-line (and one that doesn't really have to face above average rushers) plays a vital roll in the success of the offense as well.

Sub par players?

Well said. I was going to say something similar, but thought, "What's the point?"

I had scrolled too far down to see who made the post, but I said, "This must be CRA." You're killing me with the Fox/Rivera comparison.

When I was researching Reich, I'd say that his play calling was probably what led to the most criticism of the then Colt's HC. Some of the writers and fans weren't really impressed. Perhaps someone who follows the Eagles can discuss the seeming disconnect of Reich's play calling as the Eagles' OC versus Reich's play calling as the Colts' HC. Was Doug Pederson the better football mind there? Anyway, I think that we'll really find what kind of coach we have based upon when he allows Thomas Brown do his job unfettered. I can't remember who said it in the game thread, but Brown's play calling actually looks like it's geared for today's modern NFL. That's a good take in my estimation.

Well, our best players aren't even playing, so maybe in September. I saw some good things out there from the second and especially the third string. It's obviously a work in progress, but I still believe it will come together.

To answer the question: he's missing an assignment.

Preseason Game #2 - who impressed/who disappointed
top dawg replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm disappointed in @Mol3m4n. We know that he didn't watch the game. -
I've never heard of Grant Young before tonight, but NFL.com's Digital Content Editor has apparently seen enough to know that our O-line problems are more serious than some seem to realize, and that they aren't going to magically fix themselves. From a summary: "O-line officially an issue for Panthers. Unfortunately for Carolina, the Week 1 performance by the offensive line wasn't an aberration. Bryce Young was harassed throughout his two drives, shining a glaring spotlight on a major problem for the Panthers going forward. With the maturation of the future of the franchise live and televised, protecting Young is paramount. So far, though, he's been hounded and pummeled. On Friday, Young was pressured 42.9% of the time, per Next Gen Stats, and sacked once. Over two games and five series, Young has been hit too often, sacked twice and quarterbacked Carolina to only three points. When the games count in the standing a few weeks from now, Young's going to play a lot more than a few series per game and that portends to even more punishment. The Panthers have an obvious issue to address – in a hurry." I appreciate him getting right to it. No misguided "vanilla" talk. No holding-cards-close-to-the-vest talk. No 5-D-chess foolishness. No fuging chaser! Just straight! If we don't don't address the O-line leakiness, 2023 has the potential for a very very ugly season. https://www.nfl.com/news/2023-nfl-preseason-week-2-what-we-learned-from-friday-s-doubleheader And from the article: "Once again he showed his toughness, standing strong against the rush. He appeared largely unrattled and flexed his impressive arm, able to show his strength and accuracy on the run or even with his feet planted and unable to to step into a throw." Just like last week, writers are trying their best to give Bryce Young what little praise they can muster, but just like last week, as I and others have said, the team's success, begins and ends with the O-line. We will not be able to really experience the Bryce Effect until he has adequate time to work his magic (and doesn't get "pummeled" before he can get into his bag). "It remains arduous, however, to deliver any kind of truly accurate assessment of the 22-year-old QB, as the first two games have been an indictment of his offensive line more than anything else." https://www.nfl.com/news/bryce-young-led-panthers-offense-gets-just-three-points-as-offensive-line-strugg Now what do you think?

Jordan looks totally out of his league (pun intended). -

Anyone who actually watched the game wouldn't be bewildered. I know that it has become en vogue to poo on Corral for anything and everything, but his improvement was impressive. -

How are not going to mention Corral? His play was impressive. -
Well, I didn't think about the thread, but...People actually have a right to have high expectations, however unrealistic it appears. I mean, I am not discounting that we could surprise, but I'm very far from counting on it. I've already discussed the reasons in another thread, but people are going to believe what they want---even after seeing us looking sketchy during the preseason---so anymore discussion seems fairly useless.

And Corral has his best performance and people are proclaiming Luton is better. Just another night on the Huddle.

Man, you aren't even trying to hide your troll job.
