  1. My lord, you really bought into all that "win-now" coach-speak, didn't you?
  2. This is good. On an off note, I'd add that even if Bryce does fail, which is still very much up in the air, it's not the end of the fuging world or the franchise. All that would mean is that those in charge have to work harder to get us to where we want to be. Other teams have moved up and made the wrong choice before and survived.
  3. They probably just need to have an I-told-you-so about Bryce Young thread. Me? I still haven't given up on Bryce. Just like they can bump their chests about something that has yet TBD, there are those of us who tried to tell people that they needed to set realistic expectations for the team this season. I don't care who we drafted, we weren't going to the playoffs because everything was just too new and unsettled. Rookie QBs, unless they're Brock Purdy with a well-coached and established team, don't lead their teams to the playoffs. We were a bad team in a very weak division (and still are a bad team in many respects). But, we were really supposed to be bad if you look at teams with a rookie QB in an historical context. For the life of me, I still don't know why people thought we were going to thrive this year. It was and is about developing schemes, defining a culture, and showing incremental progress. We have arguably failed so far, but assuming that we lose against Miami, we'll still have about two-thirds of the season to get better.
  4. True, but he's not adept at passing.
  5. It's not like this Fitterer thing isn't an opinion. Some of us just believe that in general the wise man lets things play out before forming an opinion. Moreover, a person can look promising today, and look like trash tomorrow (or vice versa). Fitterer has some good points. It's also still a little murky as to who made certain decisions. But Fitterer is currently crapping out right now because of choices that he made or cosigned. At some point a change is necessary, but obviously people will have differing opinions as to how much patience one should have or when the cord should be cut. Ultimately, the only one whose opinion matters is David Tepper's.
  6. I think it was luck from one perspective, but they weren't hesitant to go all-in on him which should tell people that think that he's just a glorified game manager that Shanahan absolutely doesn't believe that bull.
  7. 49ers receivers seem like they're always open. Purdy gets that ball out fast. Shanahan knows what he's doing.
  8. Purdy is just dropping dimes. He makes excellent decisions.
  9. Yes, I believe that things can get worse. AT is not the old and slow guy that some had made him out to be. We're not really taking advantage of Chark like we're supposed to. Mingo certainly showed signs of life today. Hurst isn't really being used effectively in my opinion, and Tremble if nothing else can catch passes too. Now, of course you can blame it all on Bryce, but I'd say most of these issues come down to coaching and play calling.
  10. Well, maybe. One thing I would say is that if you use him too much, defenses will likely start taking cues and that might lead to less effectiveness and ultimately lead to bad things because it's too predictable.
  11. Unless you want to transition him to a true RB, he is limited because he's a limited receiver. Laviska has had problems with ball tracking since before he got into the league. Why do you think that the Jags basically traded him for a glorified ham sandwich? Why do you think that most of his receptions are near the LOS? You can't be a legit receiver if you have problems tracking the ball.
  12. Hey, I can't argue with your perspective. One thing I will say is that he got away with some things in my opinion and should've been reined in somewhat a long time ago, but he made his peace with me. Also, he'd likely have a different perspective than yours. It is what it is though. This place will be less interesting without him.
  13. Nice thought...kinda, but it's pure speculation. If we give anything more than a day 3 pick for Jeudy, I think that a trade would be ill-advised. If they include Burns and get compensation, I could deal with that.
  14. Just got tired of the stupidity and the lack of legit moderation (along with some other things that I don't feel at liberty to divulge).
  15. Dallas on the board. Nice play call with the speedster Turpin.
  16. Hey @ForJimmy, I bet you'd never think that you'd see the day when I was defending Scot. We made peace though. He outright said that he's not coming back, but I said that I'll await his reincarnation.
  17. You'll be waiting a long time, because he's left this place. He never said anything definitive one way or the other, and basically took a wait-and-see approach. And, that's a rational approach.
  18. Talk that game manager sh¡t about Purdy if you want to.
  19. At the end of the day, who really cares who was right or wrong in this place? Tepper and company were apparently wrong, and now as fans we're all fücked! I said that the FO had to be right about Young vs Stroud. Well it looks like they were wrong. Not only that, but both lines look worse, and honestly it looks like the team has regressed. I know that we've had injuries, but we had them last year also. Heads deserve to roll.
  20. No one receiver is the answer, but Jeudy is cheap and possibly available and possibly an answer. We need picks more than we need Burns.
