Tepper and his soccer facility so glad he is ‘excited’
top dawg replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, they gonna act like it. -
I definitely would give him more carries, but Chuba is simply the more explosive back and hits the hole harder (when he hits it).

A host on Lions flagship radio proposes Williams + first for Burns

Hutchinson and Burns would be great for the Lions. That's a scary proposition. -
A host on Lions flagship radio proposes Williams + first for Burns

I guess, if your emphasis is on him being stupid. Doesn't really mean that he can't play though. -
Alright, guys, this is via SI Fan Nation. So, keep it in context (kind of like shooting the poo, but with a citywide audience). The writer reported that the host of 97.1 The Ticket, Jim Costa, has an idea. Costa said that provided that they could get a deal where they could get Brian Burns long term, then the Lions should offer the Panthers Jameson Williams plus a first for Brian Burns. "My point would be, they won in Kansas City without him, they won in Green Bay without him, they're in first place in this division without him," Costa explained. "He has been unreliable. He is not someone who is untouchable and to get a difference maker for this team, I would be willing to include him." "Costa stated that the Lions could include a first round pick with Williams [contingent upon working] out an extension with Burns. On the flip side, he believes dealing Williams could be beneficial for the struggling Panthers' offense." https://www.si.com/nfl/lions/news/jim-costa-proposes-trading-jameson-williams-for-brian-burns It's an interesting hypothetical. While we're at it, perhaps we could try and acquire John Metchie for Chinn since he's obviously not conducive to EE's scheme anyway. What are your thoughts?

They were getting after him too. Go Dawgs!

Could Both Fitterer and Reich Be Safer Than We Think?
top dawg replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Many many people that know Reich personally, and have known him for years, said that he had to be convinced that Young was the better prospect. The way that he has handled Young really belies the opinion that he was never 100 percent sold on him. Don't get parroting the company line, coach-speak, and putting on a good face as being in love. If he didn't believe in him, he should've stuck to his guns, but he bowed to the pressure. -

Panther Shopping for Number 1 caliber WR, Top Priority

Mark Schlereth rips---really destroys Jeudy (and Sutton to a lesser degree). https://denversports.com/2108310/mark-schlereth-rips-effort-from-jeudy-and-sutton-would-cut-both/ “The effort from our starting wide receivers. Shame on Jerry Jeudy for even thinking he can utter the name of Rod Smith in his tweets. Shame on you, because you’re not a professional. And you don’t know what effort is. Your quarterback’s under duress, somebody locks you up in man coverage on an underneath route, and to call it trotting would be an insult to trotting. You just quit,” Schlereth said. “Courtland Sutton not coming back to the ball. Neither of those two guys would play for me. I would cut both of those guys,” Schlereth said. “Jerry Jeudy would not be on my team. Jerry Jeudy could not play on the teams I played on if his life depended on it. He’s not tough enough, he’s not focused enough, he’s not good enough, he’s not anything enough.” Well, at least I know why Jeudy ain't doing sh¡t in fantasy right now. -
I know that it may not make that big of a difference, but at least we won't have to deal with being run over by De'Von Achane. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38622743/dolphins-rb-devon-achane-miss-knee-injury-source-says

I thought we were stopping the bumping of threads. It has gotten annoying. @LinvilleGorge , perhaps locking these things up will effect the desired result.

Mecole Hardman - Potential Trade Target?
top dawg replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess you think that WR1s just fall off of trees. We need to improve. If we can get a legit receiver on a deal--basically a value acquisition, then I'm in. That being said, I don't think Hardman moves the needle. -
Not really worried about that. Sure, it would undoubtedly bring an occasional "the Panthers suck," by fans of other franchises, but It would give us something to talk about, and would almost guarantee that Tepper goes nuclear, which would be worth the price of admission.
-
I need to see better line play too, but I guess that's kinda baked in with a "new staff and legit offensive coaches." You really can't judge a QB if they don't have a legit line. Hopefully he's not irrevocably messed up by then. I will say that all of this is subject to change depending upon what I see by January.

Panthers LAST in the NFL in win pct since Tepper purchased the team.
top dawg replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well that sucks. We aren't there yet though. Don't give up so easily. -
Everyone needs a break. If you leave, I'll see you when you get back. I told Scot the same thing, and he's already back. We're all just a little online family, and it's hard to abandon your family forever. Maybe indefinitely, but not forever.
-
That's just crazy. If he doesn't fit your scheme, trade him to someone that can maximize his talent.
-
A few things: I agree that it's pretty much just way too early to be giving up on Bryce. Honestly it's just nonsensical. Between the O-line, misfit schemes and bad play calling, it just doesn't make sense to be giving up on him so easily. Now, as far as Reich and all the schematic problems for the personnel that he has, great (and even good) coaches can design schemes around their personnel---play to their player's strengths or put them into the best position to succeed. Since Reich hasn't been doing that from my perspective, and doesn't appear to do it situationally with some expediency, he can kick rocks. For me, that's a coach's main damn job. As for Fitterer, I like that he thinks outside the box in order to stock the team with talent. I like the concept of being in on every deal and trying to keep your coaches happy. But, you can't be all loosey-goosey with as much draft capital as he has without high criticism. He's traded like two firsts---three if you ascribe a first rounder to the value of D.J. Moore---two seconds, a third, two fourths, a fifth and a sixth round pick (I think that's all) trying to fill the QB position. And, honestly that's just a bad job when those QBs include Sam Darnold, Matt Corral and Baker Mayfield. He could be fired just for that alone, especially when you ultimately have to deal Moore and Christian McCaffrey in order to recoup picks because you've done too much. And, yes, he has done too much. And it would be different for me if we were just talking day 3 picks, but he has run the gambit. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind dealing picks if acquisitions pan out, but Fitt's results are sketchy. That being said, deals can be good if you get good value and solve problems, but you need to be analytical and sometimes critical about deals. Dave Tepper may be the origin of all this mess due to impatience. Others may be reacting to his demands, putting team management into a position where they feel that they have to do certain things that they wouldn't normally do just to appease Tepper. Hiring a person who has experience and a track record of success is a great idea, but even that's only going to work if Tepper has patience. It's going to take a person with a backbone to handle Tepper. Perhaps Colbert is that guy. For my money, that person is still crazy ass Jim Harbaugh, but that ship may have sailed. Lastly (I almost forgot), it's one thing to help develop plays and schemes offensively, and maybe Brown has a great hand in that. That would be natural, but it's Reich who is actually calling the plays that have been developed at the point of attack. That's the chess game, and in that sense, in my opinion he has sucked. It's past time for him to hand the reigns over to see what type of energy will arise from the young blood.

I've been on the ground all along, my friend.
-
You have to wonder if he's all there. That, or maybe he just has too much on his plate with the play calling duties and all.
-
No sh¡t, Frank. I know that it may not have helped, but that's kinda what pre-season is for, especially when you have a rookie.
