  1. Who said C.J. wasn't the right choice? We didn't choose C.J., so why would anyone, except for a Texans fan when they chose him, say he isn't the right choice?
  2. I'll give you that, but I do believe that impatience had a hand in that. From some perspective, I think it's a good thing that now everyone is sober and knows that we are a long ways away from being contenders. I'm hoping that people take this as a lesson and learn it. There is no shortcut or substitute of time to build a franchise that's a perennial contender. You gotta take all that fluff and coach-speak with a big grain of salt. You may have to gird yourself even more due to failings of ownership. I suspect that some are going to forget as soon as there's a hint of improvement, or when we make major changes.
  3. I don't believe the fan base has much patience. I think just the fact that so many thought that we were pushing for the playoffs is indicative of impatience.
  4. Well, at least Tepper seems to be further entrenching himself in the area. It doesn't sound like the Panthers are moving to San Antonio, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, or San Jose any time soon.
  5. Honestly, he still doesn't move the needle for me. I think that he's OK, but I have serious questions as to whether or not he could ever win a championship. His ceiling seems like the second round of the playoffs. Now do I think we'd have a better win-loss record this season? Sure. Would we be legitimate contenders to win a chip? No. If I could go back in time and acquire him and keep all our picks and D.J. Moore? Probably. He may have helped save us from ourselves. And that may have been worth it, especially if we'd have been players in the 2024 QB draft class. But, honestly, I'd rather have Stroud than Carr, or even Levis than Carr. Carr has always struck me as being decent to pretty good, depending upon the week, but never ever great. Nothing he has done this season has changed my mind.
  6. Agreed. The wise man lets things play out before even beginning to try and draw definitive conclusions. There's a contingent of Huddlers that hate patience and time, but that's the only way you can know what the hell you're talking about in regards to most players; anything else is simply a guess. Puffing out one's chest over a guess is kinda comical. This is not to say that there weren't some serious misgivings by folks, but to be honest, I've been most surprised by Young's inaccuracy, and no one was really talking about that. But at the end of the day, we all knew there was a chance that Stroud could be better, and today it looks more and more undeniable. That's a damn shame being that we have such an experienced NFL staff.
  7. Dalton throws picks too. Not as many, but too many to say that he'd have won those games. It doesn't matter anyway. He's no one's future franchise QB; that's why Dalton is here now.
  8. Damn, "with more less." That Stella Artois must be affecting me more than I know.
  9. The compensation we moved up to get him may make it seem bad, but there have been worse QBs.
  10. You'd have people thinking that we were a good team because of being .500 at best, simply because we'd have a chance to win a sucky ass division and go one-and-done in the playoffs.
  11. I agree, but I don't think that he'd look like Bryce has. I suspect that Stroud can do with more less, and that Bryce, at the very least, needs stellar line play to do starter-level work. Bryce doesn't look like a QB who can put the team on his shoulders and will them to a win. The jury is still out, I admit, but...
  12. We already suck. We can't beat the refs too. It's too much.
  13. Pre-injury, Cohen was not JAG. He was an excellent return man, and he was a legit offensive weapon and a take-it-to-the-house threat every time he got the ball. Blackshear, though perhaps better than what we've had in awhile in that respect, has not shown that type of Cohen ability since he's been here.
  14. I use the "share link," but always use the copy link from there. Never had an issue. Didn't even know there was one until people began complaining.
  15. This thread needs to be locked, because it's not true at the moment.
  16. "Vastly superior" my ass. Foreman got more opportunities and did less with them. Chuba is faster and simply way more explosive than Foreman ever thought about being. Plus, he had a higher average per run and per catch. And, in case you missed it, Cynthia Frelund of NFL Next Gen Stats thought Hubbard was underappreciated as well. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/05/30/panthers-rb-chuba-hubbard-underappreciated-next-gen-stats-miles-sanders/ So, I don't know who you're listening to, what you're looking at, but there seems to be a disconnect. Chuba was very solid last season, and is solid this season considering the suspect line play and play calling. He's not an A-list back by any means, but he's got more zip than Foreman, and is a more dynamic runner in the open field.
  17. He's also played in less games but has way more pressures. It's good that Burns is available, but he's markedly less effective than Bosa. We were always going to have to pay him, but Bosa money?
  18. See three posts up from yours. I guess mine always works because I always copy and paste.
  19. We'll likely work it out with Burns or tag him. As for Chinn, he'll be gone at some point during the off-season. Perhaps Action Jackson will be traded as well.
  20. It's all about value, not necessarily the time or situation. Apparently we didn't get the value that the FO was looking for, so they weren't moved.
  21. Maybe they don't let it load before hitting the submit button. I don't know. It always works for me.
  22. At best, Boobie and Hunter were a big waste of money. I thought Hurst would be better. I thought Sanders was somewhat redundant, but I was hopeful. Good thing that the coming cap situation is tenable. We're still going to have to upgrade the positions though. Waste of cap space and roster spots, and perhaps speaks to impatience (which may lead back to Tepper).
