  1. The Carolinas aren't actually full of classy people, far from it. So there's that. As to tearing down the house of a certified asshole that cheated people out of millions, among other bad behaviors, I could care less.
  2. I doubt I am the only one of this opinion. I've been on the Huddle circa 2003 and these kinds of threads weren't really the norm on our football forum. Furthermore, I don't think it's normal to call someone a POS for such a decidedly benign act, particularly when you don't know the full circumstances. Was it a jerk move? Sure. But throwing the term "piece of poo" around in reference to human beings is also pretty crappy, but it's indicative as to where our society is. Don't get me wrong, there are some actively terrible human beings who in my opinion should probably get that title, but Tepper isn't one of them.
  3. Uh, yeah, I got the bright idea to listen to their stream on TuneIn Radio one day. I was simply tired of listening about Carolina, NC State and the Hurricanes and wanted to hear more Panthers-related content. They did talk Panthers, but, still, I was like, "What is this sh¡t?" Their shtick is kind of cringeworthy to be honest. I couldn't take it.
  4. You can't make the moves that Tepper has, have seen the results, and expect fans to shower you with flowers and candy.
  5. Just to add on. I'd love to be able to tear down the house of an old boss or two. That guy who owned the now nonexistent house that Tepper eventually had replaced is the real POS.
  6. No I would not. I've said it in the past that I'm generally reluctant to trade day one or even day two picks for unproven kids that haven't taken the first NFL snap. What we traded was tremendous, and one simply has to be right---not fúcking "convicted"---"right," when you trade so much draft capital, as well as veteran playmakers for a guy out of college. Now, I realize that sometimes you want to move up if a player you like starts falling, but that generally only costs an arm, not both arms and legs. When you made the trade that we made, you have to be "right!"
  7. I find these types of threads as unbefitting for the Huddle. It is reflective of the downgrade in serious and analytical football discussion around this place however. Just my personal opinion.
  8. We were never going to lose draft picks over this incident. Tepper was never going to be forced to sell the team over this incident. Some disgruntled Panthers fans are losing touch.
  9. If Tepper is serious about actually winning, which I believe he is, then Fitterer's days as GM are numbered. Tepper has put himself into a position where no HC that's worth a damn will give way to Fitterer (or even Tepper himself).
  10. The same Justin Fields who has been playing good football post-injury.
  11. If we had a vet (including Dalton) starting this year, we wouldn't have had the number one pick. Caleb Williams would not be in the math...unless Tepper, Fitterer and company made another stupid move like trading a bunch of draft capital for a rookie. This year's first was never in the cards for us, but it was in the cards for Chicago due to all the mis-dealing.
  12. I don't know what y'all were expecting. I said either last night or yesterday that it would be a fine.
  13. Not surprising at all. I've watched the game for a half century beginning at 6 years old at Veteran's Stadium, and I've never seen an offense as consistently ineffective or disjointed.
  14. I'm not even concerned about that. Why fans are trying to blow it up into something that is compelling enough to demand that he sell the team, I don't know...Well, that may be a lie; I do know why fans would do that: they're desperate. He has sucked so much in his hiring practices that the results have caused Tepper to meddle more and more, and now the state of the Panthers and its prospects are unpalatable. The entire situation---Tepper's reactions, our reactions, all of our reality in reference to the team---derives from frustration. Tepper and his yes-men cronies have made extremely bad decisions. Now, all that being said, Tepper has been a jerk at times---obviously tossing a drink from your box upon a guy is a bad thing to do. It can be considered assault. But still, we don't know all the circumstances. On its face, it's a jerk move. Cowardly? I don't know. But I'm not worried about it. I've had beer spilled on me before at football games from drunken, rowdy fans at Cleveland Municipal Stadium as a child. It's not the end of the world. Tepper will pay his fine(s) and move on. But... ...It is my contention that if Tepper is a coward, it's because he won't hire---hell, CONSIDER---the one guy whose ego rivals his own as the Panthers' potential fixer. Yes, I said "fixer," as the franchise is broken due to Tepper's penchant to hire losers in reference to the game and business of football. The other reason I said "fixer" is because some think that the guy would only last a few seasons. I don't necessarily think that's true, but you all know the best man for the job--the Panthers' savior---err fixer, would be: James Joseph Harbaugh.
  15. Meh. We'll use FA to patch some holes. The roster we have now, won't be the one we have at the beginning of the draft. We'll upgrade the receiving room too. I suspect they aren't as bad as has been suggested.
  16. That's not going to happen. Tepper will receive a hefty fine.
  17. By the way, we might not want Tepper to hear that, or he may really get rid of "keep pounding" once and for all.
  18. It was comical, but he went a little too far with the gestures near the end. He's unfortunately right though. All we can do is take it. How all that brain power and years of coaching could allow this to happen is simply incredulous. Although I haven't completely given up on Bryce, I'm skeptical as hell. It's going to hurt missing out on a top WR, but it would just be twisting the knife in every fan's back if we skip out on a more prototypical talent at QB if one falls. The GM is going to have a lot of work to do to even get us up to mediocre. Hopefully we can use FA to set up the draft and patch some of the holes particularly on the line.
  19. The NFL's resident talking-head-lawyer I'd of the opinion that punishment must be swift and strong. The precedent is a middle finger that garnered a quarter-million dollar fine. Florio says that Tepper's fine should be substantially more than that. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-needs-to-make-a-swift-and-strong-statement-regarding-david-tepper
  20. That's anathema to to the rich and powerful. They and/or their cronies do exponentially worse shít within the walls of House and the Senate, and wouldn't dream of standing face to face with constituents without security.
  21. I mean, I'm sure that he probably got the message two games ago, if not before that... And why can't people just accept that he's not going to sell the team? He's not.
  22. You surely can't take life or health for granted. That being said, I wish him longevity and success in his endeavors, especially this Panthers thing.
