Is this true? Can anyone confirm?

One great big nothingburger! -
I feel you there. Every job that I've had as an adult, my bosses always asked if I wanted to move up. They're glad to have me most days.

I would guess that very few are trying to "kill" Bryce after his rookie year. I believe in legitimate competition, especially for unproven players, and especially at the most important position on the field. Everyone knows that he's going to get another shot, as well he should, but you're never going to convince me that having to compete for your spot as a starter is a bad thing. BTW stats really mean little without context. Bryce had a 5.5 yard average per pass attempt, so accuracy is kind of built-in. -
Once the reporter doubled down, I began to doubt that it was made-up. IIRC it was Josina Anderson. In any event, I'm glad that the Panthers and Tepper pivoted away from Johnson.

Run to set up the pass, and pass to set up the run. Preferably get O-lineman that are versatile enough to do both well.

We are in a position to be picky, as in we need to pick up a guy or two in the draft. Getting aging WRs who are on a noticeable decline don't move the needle for me. At least Higgins or maybe even DK (if they put him up for trade) are still at the peak of their super powers. There's no way Diggs is coming here anyway. He's not on the same side of the curve as a younger receiver, he wants to win now.

Well, I don't agree with your thesis. Moreover, the concept or definition of a true WR1 or simply number one wide receiver is not unique to the Carolina Huddle. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/02/26/antonio-brown-trade-block-defining-no-1-receiver https://theathletic.com/1262373/2019/10/09/who-are-the-nfls-true-no-1-receivers-coaches-and-evaluators-weigh-in/ https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2012/4/13/2945073/a-nagging-issue-what-is-a-1-wide-receiver https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2023/08/18/jacksonville-jaguars-wide-receiver-calvin-ridley/

Honestly, it's arguable that waiting to draft receivers in the second round actually lends itself to a better return on investment. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-first-round-wide-receiver-production-compare-second-round And don't sleep on McConkey. He's certainly the type of player that you absolutely want on your team.
-
Damn! Didn't realize Ridley was 29. I'd take Higgins for sure, but I don't see him as a true WR1.
-
Hey, Ladd McConkey, Xavier Leggette, Keon Coleman...I'll take any of them.

The trading of Jameson Williams and some picks to Carolina for Burns, as envisioned by Jim Costa of Lions radio, should've been done before the trade deadline. The Lions just may have made the Super Bowl, and Carolina would have a receiver with a high ceiling (and Bryce's favorite target at Bama).

I don't know that I buy it fully that he was sending current players a message, but he could've been. He could've just easily been in the moment, meaning that what he said was what he really believes. In that sense, the effect upon the current players could be the same: they better get their sh¡t together or they won't be here. By the way, IIRC, Morgan did thank Fitterer for giving him the opportunity toward the beginning of the presser. I'm not going to presume to try to get into Tepper's head. He may have given Morgan a pass because Morgan didn't get the guys Morgan was pushing (and should have). That would make sense, right? But Tepper hasn't always done things that make sense. He's going to have to build my faith back up in him in that regard---not that I had any real faith in him to go on anyway, except that he was a successful "everyday guy" that was smart enough to make enough money to buy a football team and become a "fan" like me.

I wouldn't say that most Huddlers "hated" the hires, that's a strong word. I would say that regarding Canales, most people are just taking a wait-and-see approach, and I believe that the poll reflects that. It was obvious that he really relishes this opportunity (and it's not like he was a hot commodity out there, as this was his only opportunity during the hiring cycle). As for Morgan, many people may seem to be inspired because he was part of the last failed administration, so quite logically he has some amount of the associated stink that comes with it. From many fans' perspectives, Morgan's saving grace is that we don't know how much---if any---he was actually involved in the decision making, so we can't really---can't ultimately blame him for the worst era in the history of the franchise. He was also one of the franchise's favorite sons as a player, so that brings a certain amount of goodwill as well. Now, that the Morgan-Canales era has begun---because they'll always be linked---and can't help but get the image of their bro hug out of our minds---now that the Morgan-Canales era has begun, it's all about what they do moving forward. They'll have their honeymoon; we'll see how long it lasts.

You are a serial liar. Everyone knows it. Flip flopping is going back and forth from one position to another. If I see what I perceived as bullshit, I will address it. Plain and simple. It doesn't matter whether it was about Bryce or Stroud. If you recall, I created a thread from a UGA alum point of view. I ultimately said that I'd be glad with either. I also consistently said that regardless of whom they pick---which they are paid to do---they had better get it right. Well, they didn't. At the same time, I didn't think that Bryce would be so abysmal. The preponderance of the threads that I debated in was about Bryce's durability (and how he was going to get broken in half, etc.). A few were about his arm strength. I've already stated that I was wrong about that, so there goes your narrative about me having some hard time admitting when I'm wrong. As for Bryce---any player or coach...GM or owner, I like to let things play out before I start making definitive statements, and I'm going to continue to do that, as it's just my way. It just makes sense to me to let things play out, but that doesn't mean that I won't have criticisms along the way. Sorry (not sorry) if you have a hard time understanding that concept. To be clear, I haven't given up on Bryce all the way, but I am very skeptical. This thread is simply about providing Bryce an incentive to be at his best this year, and providing us some insurance in case he just doesn't improve. So, in the future, when you bring up lies about what I said about Bryce, you will hopefully remember this post (not that it will make any difference to your proclivity to stretch the truth). -

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies. It's simply time for you to throw away that old, tired playbook of yours. People would respect you more if you were honest. -

You told the same lie about me and Tepper. I asked you to bring some receipts and you brought B.S. Robbie overachieved for his time, which was good, but he fell off his second year here. -

Well, I guess so if you take the tact of a troll at face value. I've never been a Moore hater. That's just an outright lie. -

Moore haters? -
I disagree wholeheartedly. Get a couple of lineman, preferably an LT and a guard, a WR1 and a pass catcher at TE, and that's absolutely enough for Bryce to work with and evaluate as to whether he's legit or a bust. Not to mention better schemes and play calls. No way we're waiting until after 2025 if Bryce doesn't show anything in 2024. That would be managerial malfeasance.

I'd have to read through numerous articles. It's too negative and disheartening. Someone will compile all his failures this past season soon enough I'd suspect. But let's not act like there isn't enough evidence out there to see a larger picture of what was a bad season. That's not even questionable. He'll get another shot. Let's all hope that he is markedly better, because just "better" ain't going to cut it.

I mean, no D-line is going to allow that clean of a pocket. My thing is, even if I acknowledge Bryce's so-so arm strength as good enough, I still have serious issues with his vision which appears to be due to lack of height, decision-making and processing. His pocket presence and awareness were somewhat abysmal in my opinion. His ball velocity, timing and ball placement were sketchy as hell. I think that all the aforementioned are just as important, if not morenimportant, than mere arm strength.
