He's not going to accept $20 mil per. The tag amount is higher than that, and he's a top three receiver in the game.
-
Damn! We're back to saying that again.

Sorry, it's how some black people talk amongst ourselves. Sometimes we just can't have nice things without some fúcker(s) fúcking it up for everybody.
-
No home training. No respect. Like my uncle used to say, "It's just some [N-word] sh¡t!"

The one punk with the white shirt on was trying to sneak him.

If it was his event, he needs to kick whatever lowlife, hood motherfúckers out for life. I remember the smart-mouth kid talking disrespectful smack to him that one time. It's good that he has patience, but I just wouldn't put myself in the situation anymore. He's in a place where he doesn't have to put up with that kinda bullsh¡t. I'd only deal with people that wouldn't disrespect me like that. Bump the rest!

I mean, if you draft right, you can get better value. This is important for a team that is rebuilding.

LOL I was getting ready to reply with my usual somewhat wordy response, but your succinct response is all that's really necessary.

In free agency, regarding EDGEs, Burns is second. The Athletic has him as the top FA. https://theathletic.com/5280918/2024/02/19/free-agency-rankings-nfl-best-available/ https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-free-agency-2024-chris-jones-brian-burns-kirk-cousins-headline-top-50-free-agents-this-offseason/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2024/02/14/nfl-free-agency-2024-ranking-best-players-available/72573229007/ The worst I saw was Fox (of course) which had him at 11. Still, it's relatively high.

Tim Donnelly on Trent Brown, Evans, Burns & Motown
top dawg replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think we'll get a "ton," but I'll be shocked (and probably pissed) if it's simply a first. Good pass rushers don't just grow on trees. I love sacks, but those pressures mean something as well. A Burns-Hutchinson combo, for instance, has the potential to be very very nasty. -

You guys, keep smoking that good stuff... -

What you're saying has really yet to be established. Teams know what we turned down before, so they obviously know that we're not going to give him away. Once Burns is actually tagged, then we may begin to hear what an actual market looks like. Below is recent thinking: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/panthers-trade-proposal-brian-burns-heads-to-baltimore-for-picks-and-david-ojabo I've seen prospective trade partners mentioned, including Detroit, Houston, Arizona, Cincinnati and of course Baltimore. -
Not trying to be really disagreeable, but Huddlers say that every year about player X, then player X commences to fall. Needs, wants, valuations, and just the dynamics of the draft in general always ends up with surprises.

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns
top dawg replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess what I'm saying is that I think of Burns more as a finishing off piece than a foundational piece, and as such no way we're going to get a first valuable enough to actually give equal value for what we'd be losing. -

I just don't think that we'll accept only a first because it really serves little purpose this offseason. We'd just be creating another hole for little reason, unless it's a really high first where you could possibly pick up Brock Bowers for example. I don't think any team that high is necessarily going to trade with us. -
Adam Gold with Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports

He's an old rookie too. All this being the case, I'd have to think if he's there on day 3, we'd have to strongly consider him. -

Burns had/had more interest than some Huddlers believe. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2024/02/commanders-inquired-on-panthers-brian-burns-in-2023 Playing on the tag is a real possibility. Although I would like to get a first+ for him, I'm not gonna cry if he remains a Panther for at least the next season. Paying him $30 mil should not happen though (or I will be crying). -

Tim Donnelly on Trent Brown, Evans, Burns & Motown

You're one of those underestimating Burns based upon all the things I've heard about his perceived value outside of the Carolina Huddle. Like I said, we'll see what happens. A second for Burns is ludicrous. -

Well, the proof will be in the pudding. I believe that you're underrating Burns. Like I intimated before, people don't really talk about Burns with such disdain unless they're on the Carolina Huddle. He's not Nick Bosa, but he's not exactly dog sh¡t either. The problem for us is we're a sh¡t team for the immediate future, and we have no business really overpaying for anyone. Other teams are in a different circumstance and may actually put Burns and their team in a better situation to succeed.
