  1. Neither Mooney or Davis move the needle for me (or Smith). Ewww! I'd just rather draft some guys and take my chances if I have to stoop that low into the free agent barrel.
  2. That third highlight (after the three clips in the opening at 45 seconds), I think he may have given the kid a concussion. Did you see the kid grab his head?
  3. That's got a nice ring to it, eh? I gave the joke away with the tag. We've met with Malik Washington twice. Any UVA alums want to give us an opinion? ACC fans? https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2024/03/01/2024-nfl-combine-draft-virginia-wr-malik-washington-panthers/ Guess his favorite receiver... Well, I know people are going to complain, but I gotta say it: He got that dawg in him... https://www.profootballnetwork.com/malik-washington-draft-scouting-2024/ He looks like a promising prospect. There are concerns about blocking and press coverage, but I can't tell if it's due to his actual play or perceived limitations due to his size. He projects as a slot guy right now. He'd be a day three steal according to PFN. Of course the later you can get him, the more value he'll probably provide. He won't go early, due to size, but he's not exactly diminutive at 5'8" and 190 pounds. That's solid, but it may mean that the slot is his ceiling nonetheless. It will be interesting to see his forty time.
  4. They will probably all be legit threats. I do think that Nabers is the best route runner of the three...
  5. You have to include Malik Nabers in that discussion. Have to.
  6. Whatever it is, it won't load where I am, so I appreciate it.
  7. No, what matters is simply being legit. Legit franchises seem to make the playoffs more times than not. They may have an off year here or there, but the playoffs are an expectation--a floor--a given. We simply need to be legit.
  8. Tepper deserves to get crushed under the weight of the fake grass alone. Everyone knows the motherfúcker can afford real grass. Tepper is the second richest owner in the he NFL, and he switches to fake grass; there is something wrong with that picture, and I don't blame players for feeling like he doesn't really want to do the things necessary to invest in their safety.
  9. Yeah, making the playoffs four out of five seasons sounds great on the surface, but we still haven't had two back-to-back winning seasons. If I wasn't a Panthers fan, I'd think that was unbelievable. Sure, we can fool ourselves into thinking that pre-Tepper that historically we were a fine franchise, but we were more fair to middling. Under Tepper we've just stunk. My desire is for us to get in that top echelon of teams, or at least right before it.
  10. I guess I'm going to have to find some clips and do some research (you know, like what percentage Baker played under center). I'd just like to see him say---and maybe he has---that he's going to design an offense around Bryce Young's strengths. [I kinda chuckled when I said "Young's strengths," but I'm admittedly being overly negative] Mayfield and Young are hardly the same QB, and we don't have a Mike Evans.
  11. I mean, that's one way to look at it. If "the SB or nothing mentality is laughable for Panthers fans to have," it's only because the franchise has never had back-to-back winning seasons and we're programmed to think that mediocrity is a goal to aspire to. I'd rather think longer term. If other franchises can aspire to championships most years, we can too. We just have to rebuild, or possibly simply build, the right way.
  12. I mean, he sounds smart and all-in, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the product on the field. He's so positive, I kinda feel like he's shooting sunshine up our ass all the time. Admittedly, it may be a personal problem. We're in a honeymoon phase. We'll see what he sounds like at the beginning of November.
  13. I just listened to him. It's a bunch of generalities. He ain't really saying anything. It's a bunch of coach-speak. It's going to be a waiting game until the action starts and we see what we have, boys and girls.
  14. Blah blah blah. In theory that sounds wonderful, but If you don't have a legit---and I mean LEGIT--- franchise QB, you ain't winning any hardware.
  15. So now Bryce is going to play under center as opposed to a near 100 percent from the gun? If you're going to do a lot of play action, it means "under center," right? We'll see how all this works out. Canales knows more than me, but it kinda seems like pushing a square peg into a round hole. But, I guess I should quell skepticism in favor of optimism...I guess...
  16. I don't imagine it being "entertaining," I imagine it being frustrating as fúck. Yeah, I'd rather suck with Michael Pittman and Curtis Samuel for example. Or maybe Calvin Ridley and Josey Jewell and Romeo Okwara and Tyler Boyd.
  17. Young and Howell have a lot of questions, and both their situations had some similarities, though Howell had much better weapons. I wasn't enamored with his decision-making, but I didn't love Young's either (which is saying something consider the bill of goods). Honestly, I'd just assume acquire Rattler in the draft than mess with Howell.
  18. Hell Bryce is arguably our biggest issue. I can't credibly put Mingo and TMJ in the same boat. One has had a shot, the other really hasn't yet.
  19. It's not about filling holes with average players, it's about Morgan doing his job and drafting players that are worth a damn. Furthermore, I'd think that with the money that it will cost to acquire Jefferson that we could get two or three players that could actually help us fill holes and be a more complete team. Again, basically Morgan and company need to do their damned jobs and build through the draft, not try and get one player that can cover over a bunch of ills. JJ is a receiver, not Pat Mahomes. The money is better spent elsewhere.
  20. Well you're preaching to the preacher. I believe in value, and we have too many holes to be splurging.
  21. Someone's going to pay it, but it shouldn't be us.
