  1. So, you're saying that Trubisky isn't a problem? I've seen him play a little, and I'm not sure that he's a legit starter, much less a franchise QB! I distinctly remember his accuracy being all over the place. I'll give him some benefit of doubt for a suboptimal receiving corps, but he's still been sketchy on his reads and with his accuracy. He may be too far gone now.
  2. They had Anthony Miller, rookie Darnell Mooney who looks to be legit, and Allen Robinson. Not to mention Jimmy Graham. That's a serviceable corps for anyone. Trubisky has problems that may or may not be able to be fixed: "Trubisky still struggles with basic aspects of pro quarterbacking. He doesn’t consistently see open receivers, trust clean pockets, or keep his eyes dowfield amid a pass rush." -Danny Heifetz of The Ringer
  3. Well, with the bad contracts and Luke retiring, it's not surprising.
  4. If a QB is your guy, you have to get him, whether it's top 10 or top 32. I realize that there are opportunity costs in perhaps losing out on a day-one sure-thing at another position, but if you believe that a potential QB is a surefire starter on day one, in a half of a season or a season, you can't play draft games, you get him!
  5. I'll trust the people who get paid to make those decisions. If they draft him in the top 10, I'm good with it! I'm also good with it If they don't. All of these guys are a risk.
  6. It looks like guys just running their mouths.
  7. I've seen Lance make some throws in tight windows that should've been caught. Yes, he is raw, but I suspect that his numbers will skyrocket with his development and better weapons and protection.
  8. That's true! Like I said, it's to be expected. I think Fields did just fine, BTW.
  9. Football-related questions for a QB, or any football player really, is not some unheard of thing. It's to be expected.
  10. I will say too that it's not like these guys are giving speeches. They're basically just answering a bunch of questions in regards to the game.
  11. Good luck! I'm still waiting on a Christmas gift that was mailed on December 13th. It's showing up in Albany NY, and that's where it's been.
  12. Football Outsiders has him at 20 if it makes you feel better.
  13. I can drink to that. Perhaps "character" may not be the best choice in terms. Maybe "mindset" or "demeanor" which may speak to one's professional fit for the job.
  14. Have you even read about Lance? There's more to him than eloquence (as the OP referenced). I must say, your posts in regards to Lance seem a little tepid at best.
  15. I like everything about Trey Lance! With a little seadoning, he'll become a great pro QB.
  16. I can't even remember when I came here. It's been a long time. It seems like 2004! I remember being on the other site (which was going to be axed) and being invited here. Damn, @Zod, how long have I been on this forum?
  17. You do realize that the only reason some people are saying that Lance is a boom-or-bust type of player is based his level of competition. Most scouts that I've seen (like Bucky Brooks for example) are saying this. Lance has elite traits that project well to the NFL. With good teaching, learning and experience, I just don't see him being a bust.
  18. Lance Zierlein put out a mock today, and he has us selecting Rashawn Slater. https://www.nfl.com/news/lance-zierlein-2021-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-patriots-49ers-select-qbs-in-round-1 Pick 8 Carolina Panthers Rashawn Slater · OT School: Northwestern | Year: Senior While some believe Oregon's Penei Sewell has the higher potential upside, Slater is a low-risk, high-yield lineman who has five-position flexibility up front, a great deal of play strength and pro polish to his game.
  19. Well, he did get hurt that one season (which makes what he's accomplished even more amazing from some perspective).
  20. Wow! I can't believe I've been a part of one online community so long! I must enjoy discourse with some of you motherfugers!
  21. I saw every one of them(the 9, and will see this one if I'm here), and it's still hard to believe, much less imagine. It's incredible! Mahomes may have a shot, just looking at his early career, because he began in an era where the QB and receivers are more protected, but, even still, he's going to have to dodge the injuries and just...last. That's why I chuckle at people who don't want to give Brady his due (which there are plenty). He may not be the best I've ever seen (which IMO is Marino), but he's the GOAT!
