Robby is a number 2 receiver, plain and simple. Your "3-4 stringer comment" is troll worthy. It doesn't fit his circumstances, nor does it fit his career production. He came from an absolute trainwreck where he was basically forced to be the go-to guy with less than stellar QBs and OCs (revolving door), and he's been solid all the while.

It would've been better if it had been a little longer. I don't know why some of you don't appreciate Robby. I don't get it at all.

Monday practice and presser notes.. CMAC may not play Friday
top dawg replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't believe that it was ever fixed right. -
I feel better after listening to this. Rhule is not an abject idiot, he knows we need improvement. They'll upgrade the roster if someone worth it becomes available. As for the preseason play calling, he acknowledged that it's vanilla in nature, so expect better come September. Rhule is very calculating and strategic. I still don't particularly like that he didn't upgrade the backup QB position and especially the kicker during the offseason. He should have acquired some competition at the very least. Those things were seemingly obvious to me. But, Grier did look like a backup QB the other night. Slye is what he is and has always been: insufficient!

I hate to see Tepper refered to as a piece of crap, and we can't pin this on the turf, but it was kind of a dick move.

Only when it's convenient...

Preseason is still preseason, guys.

I mean, if we have some horrible luck, then yeah our depth isn't sufficient, but I don't see our depth as being that out of the ordinary. We need line depth, LBs due to being thin due to injury now, and the same for the defensive backfield. But I think that most teams could stand to have more depth. It's just that the good ones stay ahead of the curve.

Easy to say, but the fact is that one of them has to make the team at this late point, and I vote Grier. He has shown development, and Walker has shown that he is what he is. Grier looked like a backup QB last night. I would like a vet, but they would have to get up to speed, and that takes time.

Fair point about the O-line getting blown up that play. I was so fixated on Hubbard, that I missed the complete collapse. Speaking of Chuba, he even caught a clean pass last night. He's going to have to continue to work on his hands. That's the only way that I'm gonna be sold on him. That, and the ability to block consistently, but I believe the latter will come with development. Slye may be a likeable kid, but... Props for Grier showing improvement!

I'm sure that the FO wants to keep Moore too. Like anything else, the Devil will be in the details and there has to be a meeting of the minds. Folks may think of these two potential contracts as joined at the hip, but they're actually not.

LOL @ the lot of you! You're going to respect Robby like he deserves!

Not bringing in competition for Darnold or Slye was a huge mistake
top dawg replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can see not bringing in any competition for Sam, as they really committed to him. Once they passed on Fields, it was Sam's team for 2021. What I can't see is not bringing in more competition to push Walker on out the door. Grier could leave right behind him, but I've always viewed him as more of a project on development curve. As for Slye, I just don't see any excuse. All the "there's no one better" and all that BS is just that: BS! If the Ravens can get a kicker in our backyard, what's our fuging excuse? The problem is that Rhule is too damned comfortable with mediocrity at certain positions. Starting QB? Hopefully not! Backup QB? Yes! Kicker? fug yeah! And as far as I'm concerned, Tepper needs to give him a kick in the ass. If we can see a problem, then Rhule (and by extension, Fitterer) needs to see the problem with clarity. -
Might have to trade for him though... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.baltimorebeatdown.com/platform/amp/2021/8/16/22626390/jake-verity-could-be-the-next-undrafted-kicker-the-ravens-trade-for-a-draft-pick

I was surely checking Verity out and thinking the same thing. Surely someone in the FO had to at least have a passing thought.

Walker looks terrible. I thought he was suspect last week, but some people talked him up.

Robby is our best route runner, and it's not even close. Moore has the physical gifts, but his technique needs refimement (which is hard to say after so much time). We'll see this year.
