  1. All that's great, but let's stop acting like we know that Smitty was told to dial it back. We don't. Moreover, It was actually great for ratings. Smitty likely listened to some of his peers (like Keyshaun and Michael Irvin) who put something on his mind, and after thinking about it and analyzing the situation, Smitty changed his tune (and, yes, that is personal growth). As far as whether he was right about what type of receiver Jeudy is, I'm going to take Smitty for his word: if he did more analysis and came to a more thoughtful conclusion, I'm going to take him for his word. He's not a bullshitter and never has been (job or not).
  2. I think Dorance Armstrong should be our top FA
  3. His employer may have told him to apologize, but I seriously doubt they tell him how to analyze. America still has freedom of speech (for now).
  4. You do realize that Smitty came off of that? He acknowledged that Jeudy was better than he was giving him credit for.
  5. Well, you see his overall rank regarding win rate in 2023 . His overall PFF grade last season wasn't bad either. This, all basically playing essentially as a solo pass rusher on the worst team in the NFL. Sure, you can spin it negatively, but there's still unlocked potential in an already productive young EDGE. We'll see where it goes.
  6. Perhaps you guys would prefer a more grandiloquent term like "surreptitiously."
  7. You're talking as though Burns is basically average, and it's just not true. He's not "slightly" above average, even in a down year. He's markedly above average, point blank. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38356170/2023-nfl-pass-rush-run-stop-blocking-win-rate-rankings-top-players-teams Furthermore, Montez Sweat has been good, I'll give you that, but it's funny that during their careers, Burns has more sacks (and I'd love to compare their hits and pressures, but am too cheap to pay for it). One thing that I think that most people would agree upon is that Sweat has been in a much better situation. He was never the top guy, and has way more opportunities to get pressures because the Commanders have been a more competitive team since 2019 than we have.
  8. I hope that you're right. As for me, I am somewhat concerned because I haven't seen the watershed moment that is the clear delineation between Morgan's modus operandi and Fitterer's. For me, it's all been business as usual so far, but that's not to say that that moment isn't coming; I'm just still waiting.
  9. The proof will be in the pudding. It seems that more Huddlers agree with you than me, but I still say that many on the Huddle are simply underrating Burns' value.
  10. Just watched it, and he's right. Someone is trying to bully the new kids on the block, and If Morgan falls for it, then he's more housecat than dawg. Nothing else that he says will I take at face value.
  11. He may be right, but that's not how the modern NFL works. If you're drafted first, you're expected to play. Williams hasn't played within the flow of the offense enough, according to some; he's had way too many off-script type of plays, especially when you compare him to the other top two QBs, but that's not going to stop him from being drafted first.
  12. Yep. We have sucked, but we've also picked up Xavier Woods and Vonn Bell. So this isn't surprising. If we lose Luvu, which I hope we don't, we'll probably be in line for a comp pick in 2025.
  13. 53.5 mil at signing. 75½ mil guaranteed.
  14. Maybe as of late, but, remember, this is hopefully a new day.
  15. Giovanni Ricci isn't going to be tendered either. We have to be sober minded, thoughtful and purposeful with our dollars. That's just the way it is.
  16. So much hand wringing over a slightly above average return man...
  17. Sorry, 3 mil is rich for Smith-Marsette. Plus, there's still a chance that we bring him back. I fully expect us to draft a couple of receivers in the draft, and possibly even a RB. Some of these day 2 guys have experience returning kicks. Keep in mind that Smith-Marsette wasn't drafted until the 5th round. Dude has been on 3 rosters so far, and that doesn't even include KC.
  18. He'll probably be back, just at a hit lower than the tender. If not, someone else (probably a rookie) can do the job.
  19. Sometimes whether a team pays a player has everything to do with their circumstances--their situation.
  20. I'm not really trying to be an asshole, but I think more than a few Huddlers should follow this advice. Probably has something to do with the almost 3 mil that we'd owe him. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/what-is-an-nfl-restricted-free-agent-how-do-they-affect-free-agency/
  21. Dude, nothing was factually wrong. You need to stop saying that. It's all just an example and theory.
  22. True, but he should do it in negotiations and not via the media, so he's still an asshole.
