It was a thought-out, well-informed trade. There's no guarantee that any of our guys, except for Horn, will be with us within the coming months. Plus, why would you give up on a young player so damned soon? When you think about, it makes no sense.

I don't even know why it has to be said. The richest team owner in the NFL (and the poorest team owner in the NFL) isn't worried about a coach's contract in terms of firing coaches when the time comes. They have the money to pay them off.

Considering what we gave up for him, Darnold was a worse deal. And I doubt we'll be making the number 1 pick.

Darnold was a top 3 pick that, in conjunction with the Jets, hoodwinked us and others into thinking that he was somehow better than what he put on tape--so much so that we gave up not only a second but a fourth round draft pick for him. And, we gave him an extension because our HC AND our GM, the scouting gurus, had everyone thinking that Darnold had some untapped potential to be a franchise QB. Clausen was just another failed rookie QB who was in over his head. And he wasn't even a first rounder. He had way less expectations than Darnold.

Sam is more disappointing than Pickles, even if Clausen was worse under center.
