  1. Arm strength and arm talent aren't necessarily the same thing. Indeed there is no consensus definition for "arm talent." That being said, in my opinion it does consist of several throwing traits, including arm strength, accuracy and touch. I'd include mechanics because they can speak directly to the others, but I'll leave them out, lest there's some huge disagreement. Baker's arm is strong. His accuracy is OK, but hasn't been nearly as good as his college days. His touch is suspect. His mechanics are inconsistent. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cleveland.com/browns/2022/02/where-baker-mayfield-was-hit-and-miss-with-his-passes-in-2021.html%3foutputType=amp. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cleveland.com/browns/2022/01/the-baker-mayfield-stats-that-explain-his-2021-season-with-the-browns.html%3foutputType=amp. Here is also an interesting article on QB traits. You can take it FWIW, but according to some analysts at ESPN, there are traits that QBs should excel in to succeed. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32050570/nfl-quarterback-council-2021-ranking-top-10-qbs-arm-strength-accuracy-decision-making-rushing-ability-more%3fplatform=amp. You're exactly right, Corral will get his day.
  2. The Mayfield-Higgind link should prove to be a beneficial connection for all parties involved, and may be even a little understated. There's some legit chemistry there that Mayfield and Higgins should utilize if they're smart.
  3. You aren't going to accept ANY info regarding Corral's arm talent. The "significantly better" argument is pretty much yours and yours alone. Plenty of people take my arguments seriously. Are you daft? I'm not trying to be juvenile (but I must in this exchange), but I am a valued poster on this site. Can you say the same? Other than being a mod, what do you do, but lead the whine crowd. Just stop! It's not befitting of a moderator!
  4. Google algorithms change ALL the time. For you to pretend that you can't find information on Mayfield's arm talent is inaccurate, and frankly weak as hell. But, it hardly matters, your opinion is just that, regardless of how you want to make it some fact supported by most NFL experts. Basically, you're full of it, and got the nerve to call me an ass? Just say "We agree to disagree." Find your supportive links that show the world where Mayfield's arm talent is "significantly better" than Corral's and I'll be happy to take you seriously. Until then, your opinion is hollow.
  5. You do realize that is mainly related to news results? Some content is Evergreen. Like draft profiles and scouting reports and such are likely not going to disappear for awhile. Bottom line: you can generally find any information you're looking for with the "right" search terms.
  6. Oh, so now you're an expert on Google search results? Now show me where search queries are based on recency bias? I'm waiting.
  7. Arm strength and talent aren't exactly the same thing, but whatever. Baker isn't even as strong as Corral, but you keep believing yourself. When Baker throws the ball 77 yards, then talk to me.
  8. I don't here anyone talking about Baker Mayfield's arm talent. All you have to do is Google "Corral and arm talent" and likewise "Mayfield and arm talent" and see the results. Simple as that.
  9. I'll take Simms' evaluation over yours. Sorry.
  10. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/video-5-star-sec-target-matt-corral-throws-77-yard-pass-opening/amp/ https://www.nbcsports.com/video/chris-simms-matt-corral-has-special-arm-talent Don't tell me anything about Corral's arm talent.
  11. Bull. That's crap. I called you on it before, and I'm calling it on you now. You act like the tale of the tape has shown some type of amazing arm talent from Mayfield. The fact is that he's been a disappointment.
  12. You'd have gotten way more responses in the main thread, but welcome. Panthers fans have kinda been in the same boat as Jags fans. Who will be the first off the roller coaster of mediocre play at best, who knows? It's kind of ironic that you'd consider adopting Carolina as a Jags fan, as both were added to the league at the same time. The level of winning has been a disappointment for both franchise, I'd say. We've been in it for the long haul though.
  13. You're talking mostly developmental guys anyway from most drafts. I don't think that as fans that we can say with any surety that guys like Roy, Hartsfield or Stanley Thomas-Oliver haven't improved. They had limited ceilings to begin with, and we really don't know where they started from. Just because they may be perceived as JAG, doesn't mean that they haven't improved is all I am saying.
  14. Most of our guys haven't been in the league long enough to make judgments on, much less intimate that they aren't developing. They're probably capable depth even at this point. I'd say that YGM is coming along nicely. Keith Taylor Jr. Is probably paying above his draft status. No one is saying that the players will be All-Pros or anything, but there is little reason to say they aren't developing. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/06/27/pff-panthers-horn-chinn-jackson-henderson/
  15. Yeah, apparently some fans think he's a bust already. The Raiders declined his 5th year option (which is always telling).
  16. Google is your friend. https://www.google.com/amp/s/theathletic.com/news/ole-miss-quarterback-matt-corral-new-heisman-favorite/lGaRCTMVT63W/%3famp=1
  17. The competition hasn't even started in earnest yet, let's make that clear. But if we were to judge last week, Darnold would start. Baker is going to have to show better ball security, and better accuracy. Pushing it down field is nice, but it's not the only way to score.
  18. I don't have expectations for Corral to start. I'm not impressed by the fact that Corral was passed over. Hell, a bunch of QBs were passed over. I also am not sure why so many Huddlers--including some smart ones like you--are so sure of Mayfield, or assume that he's a lock to beat Darnold. I say that to say that in my opinion it's more likely that the beginning pecking order is Darnold, Mayfield, then Corral (as essentially a redshirt).
  19. I wouldn't exactly consider it "unreasonable." I see why others do. The circumstances are different, for sure, and they must be taken into account. But, remember, Wilson was never seriously in the Heisman discussion, much less leading the race, at any time during any season. I think that Huddlers also overlook the fact that Corral suffered an injury right before the draft season began. The kid was on ice for the better part of the entire draft season. All that being said, I don't want him to start before he is absolutely ready. But I am a believer in his long term viability as an NFL starter, without hesitation or qualification.
  20. Not arguing the point, just adding for accuracy.
  21. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-11066889/amp/NBA-legend-Bill-Russell-dies-88.html RIP, my man.
  22. Sounds like simple Cam lamentations to me. But you can find solace in that Brady jersey.
