The thread title insinuates that Lovett is better than Chuba who is currently our RB2. As for Lovett, I'm much more impressed with Spencer Brown. I'd think he could replace Chuba before Lovett.
-
Lovett was running against scrubs. He's not RB2 material. Don't get it twisted, Chuba has feet for hands (like someone said in the game thread), and I'm tired of that experiment too. Like I said in another thread, we should've kept Abdullah.

It’s been less than two months since we traded for Mayfield…..

You know, my son has told me for months that Baker is that guy. -
I don't know what people were expecting of Hollywood. He's a backup and has always been a backup. TMJ is the disappointment thus far, but I ain't giving up on him quite yet.
-
What does TMJ have to do with us being thin? We're not thin at WR. You said it yourself, he's not contributing. It doesn't sound like Rhule misses him either.

Here's the puff story. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/marquan-mccall-is-a-big-man-with-a-big-presence-in-the-2022-nfl-draft-class/

I don't think that's the point. Corral became an afterthought (and was treated as such). The talented kid was not put into a position to succeed. His development was mishandled due to Rhule basically playing favorites over projects that had limited ceilings but effectively unlimited opportunities. Now, as opposed to feeling at least hopeful about our backup spot--if nothing else for the future--we all know that that we're fuged from so many perspectives if Baker goes down. We'll have the frenetic, inconsistent play of PJ Walker to (not) look forward to.

And I'd add that he never playe like JAG last year. He has a fire in him and a knack for making plays. Yeah, some already expected Baker to be a steal, and I'd argue that you could see it coming, but Luvu may have been a steal on the other side of the ball, and 99 percent of people couldn't see that coming. Kevin Greene (RIP) did.
-
I think that it's a legitimate question. Rhule seems to have soured on him, and I can't say that he's wrong. What I will say is that another team--maybe even Carolina North--would probably find out a way to actually maximize his talent (provided he ever gets enough practice).

Not looking forward to Santoso either.

The night ain't over.

OMG! Phillip Walker!

Damn good play call and fake.

It was too good to be true.

He's playing, but not doing anything.

What happened last preseason? The most yards of all receivers? Lack of availability allows the next man up to outshine you and the coach to lose a little faith in you. Games played (in) is a joke when you're not getting any appreciable amount of snaps. Come on, man. You're trying to convince the Huddle that no one will pick him up; I'm telling you that someone absolutely will.
-
Dude, he's hardly played. How you can make all kind of judgments on basically no snaps is beyond me. His issue is not performance, it's availability due to injury.
-
Saunders looks like he plays well enough to be depth, but he'll never be a star. Edit: I was thinking Wright. He just might be better than anyone thought.
-
You shouldn't judge a receiver, especially a rookie that barely played by his catches or his catch rate (especially in a disjointed offense). TMJ hardly played. Some of that was injury, and some of that is just Rhule's overall philosophy. One man's trash is another's gold. It's much too early for teams to be giving up on TMJ (and probably Mims as well).
-
Nah, dude. He'd be snapped up in a heartbeat. He hasn't played well because he's been on ice.
