Higgins has always been a 4 at the very best.
-
After seeing TMJ during last year's preseason, I just have a hard time believing he's another Dwayne Jarrett. Sure, he looks to be an injury risk...
-
It could say that Rhule's a dumbass. Just sayin'.
-
Fu<k a moral victory! We know what it is: a loss.
-
Baker contributed to those by too deep of a drop and holding on to the ball too long. He didn't do Ickey any favors, and neither did the TE. Baker went so far back that all Garrett had to do was basically run around Ekwonu. You have to drop back quickly and throw. Ickey was basically left ass out on the long shore of an island with arguably the best edge in football.
-
Yeah, I think only one of those may have been his fault.
-
He wasn't good, but on those two sacks, Baker's depth on his drop back was too deep, and he held on to the ball way too long. That's what was said on Panthers Talk. When looking at the plays, they're absolutely correct. Moreover, on those type of plays, you have to get the ball out quickly. That's how they're designed. It's something that can be worked on and improved.

Regardless of whether we could've won or not, it wasn't a good game by us. Any legit starting QB (and a better coach) would've taken our lunch money. It was a bad game.
-
Why do other teams' backups always look better than ours? Yes, it's kinda rhetorical.
-
Another completely delusional response that does not live up to reality.
-
Robbie has proven what he can do, busted coverage--which is part of the game--or not. To suggest otherwise simply isn't on point. It's not.
-
Well, he absolutley shouldn't be close to his ceiling. I'm expecting greater things from Baker. I feel that he can do it, but I have to go on more than just a feeling. Like I said: next week.
-
I know what Robbie can do, and now that we actually have a QB that can get him the ball, you will see (again). It's simply just stupid to judge a man for a couple of bad weeks in one season. Stop the madness. He serves a vital purpose on this offense.
-
You may be right. He's not proved to be anything special. Stefanski wasn't great today, but he had heart and seemed to have a better finger on the pulse of his team (and ours unfortunately).
-
Excuses. I am evaluating him fairly. You're not. Comparisons to Cam and Jake are disingenuous. Baker is a seasoned vet for better or for worse. He has to do better. Get over it.
-
Rhule was chicken sh¡t. I fully believe that we should've played for a TD as opposed to settling for a FG. I don't believe that Brissett could've taken them down the field. That was my main problem with Rhule today.
-
Not really. Just calling it how I see it. There's nothing overly emotional about it. Buti, if it makes you feel better about your espousing strawman nonsense, then fine. I have gone on record of saying that Corral might be done (at least here). Such is the way that careers go when your introduction to the NFL is bungled. That being said, I hadn't thought about Corral in a couple of weeks, much less today. Baker having to prove himself as a legit franchise-level QB as opposed to a glorified backup shouldn't be that difficult to understand. I'm genuinely rooting for him, but he did little today to prove to me that he is still anything but a question mark.

I think we should be prepared to let burns walk
top dawg replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think that he's a good role player, but not necessarily the main guy. I don't think that we should feel a sense of urgency to sign him just because we have nothing better too do. -
Can anyone tell me what the offensive game plan was?
top dawg replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. And If the Browns had an actual starting-level QB, the game wouldn't have been close. -
He won't get that opportunity. If we have the first pick, Rhule won't be making it.

Will Tepper pull the cord on this fraud mid season?
top dawg replied to Randolph Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, losing to the Giants last year was a low for me. If we lose to them again this year, with a QB that ostensibly is a marked upgrade over Darnold and Walker, I won't be able to see any promise in this team or Rhule at all. -
If Baker actually hits Shi as opposed to throwing the crucial pick, that may have changed a loss into a win. He was as much a part of this loss as anyone. Baker is going to have to play better. Does he have it in him? Maybe. He's going to have to prove that he's a franchise QB, just like anyone. Some of you need to raise your expectations. If we had won, it would have been an ugly win. It was not a dominant performance. Maybe Baker will have one next week.
-
This is stupid. My thoughts on Baker and especially his play today have absolutely nothing to do with Corral. Zero! I'm not drinking the Baker Kool-Aid simply because you think that I should. He wasn't good enough today, and obviously the Browns (and, I don't know, maybe 30 other FOs) weren't gorging on the Baker Kool-Aid as much as you. I said that he's going to have to play better, and that's what I mean. His career has been decidedly average. Make all the excuses you want to in the world, and it's not going to change the bottom line. If Baker doesn't show much better than he did today, then he won't be getting an opportunity to lead us anywhere next season. I'm rooting for him, but I expected better than we got today. Maybe next week.
-
It's nothing I didn't say before he was signed. Furthermore, I don't think it's too critical. Mayfield has a body of work that didn't begin today. Heart and fire is only going to take you so far. Franchise QBs have that and then some.

Derrick Brown got abused all day
top dawg replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
So much promise, but so much suck. We've already seen Brown's ceiling.
