Before it becomes a topic of conversation this off-season
top dawg replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we trade anything higher than a fifth for any QB (not named Lamar Jackson), I'm going to burn some Panthers paraphernalia (albeit old) along with sage to root out the bad spirits. -

To be fair, Lance has led his team to an FCS championship. -

You're in rare form today. And why the hell not? The Thanksgiving holiday is almost upon us. Let's relax, reflect and have some laughs. I realize that reality for most of us probably sunk in many moons ago, but today the reality of Panthers fandom spilleth over. -
No, but he is the biggest disappointment at QB that we've had. You would have to be historically bad to top Clausen.

Thanks for the context.

Matt Rhule joins GMFB Tuesday & Wednesday

Hey, one contract like that is all it takes. I'd be highly surprised if Rhule bashed the Panthers. -
I get why you'd say that, but many many high schoolers are highly immature. I'd have to see what his level of maturity is now before I hold that against him.

TMJ's average YPR is just under 19. That's pretty explosive.

Quote ‘DJ needs to catch the balls when thrown to him’

Yep. No one wants to continually hear excuses. You're paid to be the man, and you have to be the man, regardless if the situation gets tough. -
If season ended today which QB would you take.

Tepper really hasn't been involved. The only thing he has really done is hire and fire. The power that he gave Rhule was ill-advised, so that was a dark cloud over everything, but he intimated that that mistake won't happen again. It was said that he wanted Fields, if he was really that involved, we would have Fields. -
Well, I never considered TMJ a bust. He wasn't getting an opportunity. That can't be said in any shape, form or fashion for Moore. Moore has put up good numbers for the most part, he just disappears in spurts, drops balls during inopportune times and is not a real scoring threat.

I'm calling it now: the Steelers game will be an L

You must think he hasn't been "good." I've said to the contrary. Robbie is gone and was never meant to be our WR1. D.J. is paid like our 1, but hasn't played like our 1. At some point, the excuses have to stop. Realize the guy's ceiling and move on. He's a good receiver, just not a great one (as I said before). He needs to play among other skilled play makers to maximize his efficiency. Why me saying this bothers you so much, I don't know. TMJ has basically outplayed Moore for the last month. That should tell you a little something.
-
It's hard to do that with your backup QB. In fact, it makes no sense. Even Rhule couldn't have gotten away with that.
-
I've seen D.J. for years now. I've thought that he was a WR2 since his rookie year, and I still see him as one.

The worst thing about acquiring Baker is the built-in stunting of the development of Matt Corral.

The LA Rams are 3-7…. We had their second round pick this year
top dawg replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's gonna get that this year. -
Meh. I tried to tell some of you that Baker had a lot of limitations, but was ignored. He was never what some Huddlers swore that he was, and D.J. isn't either. Let Baker go bye-bye and draft another legit, route running play maker at receiver, and we'll be better off.
-
Hooker probably was a day two QB at best from what I saw. He's not that now. It's likely going to be tough for him to get starter's traction now, but not impossible. Good luck with his surgery and rehab.
-
I already know what D.J. is (even if others don't), but I'm still not sure what TMJ's ceiling is at this point. I believe TMJ is at least solid. We need another explosive prototypical receiver on offense to open it up. Hell, I'll take a weapon at TE (assuming the OC knows how to use him).
-
I've seen ostensibly lesser WRs play better with Mayfield under center. D.J. is a good receiver, just not a great one. He'll tear it up with more legit play makers on offense.

Nice play by Brown
-
That was a terrible pass. Slow as fug.

Did he just airmail TMJ?
