  1. I mean, you have Rip (whom I like, BTW) in your corner. Honestly, I don't have a corner. People think that Bryce is supposed to add fuel to the fire of people who already have their minds made up about his size as opposed to just showcasing the skills that actually got him into the position that he is in today? Come on, man. I haven't seen anyone question Stroud's intelligence (not saying that it didn't happen). What I have seen in this forum and from the scouting reports and other football types is that Bryce Young is extraordinary in his preparation and understanding of the game, and particularly on a game by game basis. I don't know why anyone would not appreciate that praise. It's a strength, plain and simple. Obviously other QB prospects don't have that, or don't have it to the degree that Bryce does. That's not saying that they can't work towards that
  2. He knows that it's an issue in some people's minds. I guarantee you that it's not a legitimate issue in his mind. I'm not going to hate on him for being smart. Moreover, choosing and picking to throw, weigh in, run, and all that stuff has been done by many many prospects.
  3. Nah, dude. It's the opposite. Stroud lovers seem to simply want to gulp down the Young Haterade with impunity. But I just simply call people on their bullsh¡t. Young's red flag, if you want to call it that, is his size, pure and simple. That's pretty much it. He has been the better QB thus far, and I don't even think that's even provocative. If he were 3½ inches taller and 25 pounds heavier, there wouldn't even be a real discussion because he would be the consensus top pick. You keep saying that people are knocking Stroud. Where are all these knocks on Stroud? People generally like Stroud. His Georgia game was excellent. He followed it up (albeit in underwear) looking as smooth a thrower as you'll ever want to see at the Combine--while Young observed--and his pro day. Just because people may mention that he had better receivers last season, or that he hasn't proven to be nearly as efficient when pressured, or that he is not as great off-script as Young doesn't mean that he won't end up being a better fit for us, or QB overall. Only their pro careers will determine that. People are nitpicking--err, really picking Young's poor little bones ad nauseam based on injury projections, notwithstanding that he's been about as healthy as they come throughout his career. You say you'll be happy with either, but it seems like a good amount of your posts are based on low-key dogging out Young supporters for overlooking his size and being in Stroud's "amen" corner simply because of his size (meaning, that he's not a Smurf like people seem to think Young is).
  4. Well if we're being technical, Stroud's injury was less than two years ago, and he did in fact hurt his leg during Maryland this past November. He just returned to the game and played through it. Arguing that Young's injury to his AC joint is more recent than Stroud's injury to his AC joint is technically correct, but Stroud was the one injured most recently, so does that say anything about "wear and tear?" I mean, maybe that's why Stroud hasn't been running...Do you see how the craziness of what I'll refer to in this instance as rabbit hole reasoning? It seems to me that people are trying to nitpick pertaining to Young, but not Stroud. If we're going to put things on the table, then we can put it all on the table. I don't think that being all technical is particularly fruitful, but if you want to get technical Bryce Young played more and was actually injured less being that he went all of 2021 without injury. I mean, I realize that Young is smallish, but technically that doesn't make him any more injury prone than Stroud... technically. Injury may be a concern, but you can't say that Young has been more injury prone than Stroud. People are actually projecting injuries onto Young, while giving Stroud a pass.
  5. Yeah, I ain't seen Burrow do poo without damned good receivers because he's always had them.
  6. If you play football, you're going to get injured. Missing one game, particularly in the SEC, is essentially nothing. If anyone is considering it something major, then they better consider it something major for Stroud also, or it just bespeaks of being disingenuous.
  7. Probably UGA. But why only ask about last year? The year before, on his way to the Heisman, he beat one of the best defenses in college history (some would say the best). He also gave them a run in the championship. I mean, that has to stand for something. And for everyone talking about a shoulder injury, Stroud was injured also (as you know) with a shoulder injury.
  8. Like the SEC isn't chock full of seek-and-destroy missiles... I know better.
  9. Cary? The Triangle used to be Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. Considering that Cary is a little bit under 3x the size of Chapel Hill, I guess it's the new vertex. The entire area is one big blob now, spreading out on all sides, especially towards 95.
  10. Raleigh is really getting way too expensive, as is Charlotte. They think we're making NYC money down here. I might have to move deeper into Trump country (which I hate).
  11. There is a stark difference in the crime rate (per capita). Charlotte is rougher than some cities up north.
  12. That's Mini Mahomes, sir! Not prime Wilson.
  13. Cocky, sure, but I don't get A-hole vibes. And, yes, I'm on your lawn.
  14. Did the posse have dinner with Stroud? This is either sincere or some hella smoke and mirrors.
  15. Yeah, I don't know about all that for a soon-to-be 31 year old receiver. I think I'd rather take my chances in the draft.
  16. Yeah, this was the first I heard of it. Damn, I must have been extremely busy. Dude is tough, and a solid football player.
  17. Well, what's ideal? Taller doesn't necessarily mean better, it could just mean "statue!" Pat Mahomes is 6'2". So is Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson. Burrow is 6'4", Hurts is 6'1". I mean, "ideal" surely seems subjective. Brady is 6'4", Peyton Manning is 6'5", Montana is 6'2, Elway is 6'3", Favre is 6'2", Bradshaw is 6'3", Marino is 6'4, Warner is 6'2, and Dan Fouts was 6'3. I would say 6'3" is as ideal a height as any.
  18. Not me. Brown was a man last season. I can't wait to see what he brings in the 34.
  19. 4.38 at pro day (just like Ja'Marr). I think we all need to remember why we drafted Marshall. It's true that questions abound, but if he can't take the step this season, he's probably going to be JAG that's good enough to be in the league, but one that never meets his potential. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/terrace-marshall-jr-nfl-draft-profile-lsu-wide-receiver/
  20. Honestly, neither TMJ or Shi Smith are slow, but adding speed can't hurt
