  1. Nah. It's not like he's a surefire WR1. I mean, he ain't Chase, Jefferson or even Moore. He'd have to prove he's better than a healthy Chark or a flashing TMJ or old man Thielen. I'm not even sure that he'll end up the best in this draft. I say we stay put and let talent fall to us.
  2. I mean, that's what Tepper has been doing all along. His mistake was giving full control to a college coach who couldn't make the transition from the NCAA to the NFL.
  3. That would be enticing, but I believe the ship has sailed. All parties involved have begun envisioning BY as our franchise QB. Indeed, the source says BY will soon have a home in Charlotte.
  4. Wilson has had a fine career overall. He's not even really a bad guy, and has been a good football player. Anyway, Bryce is Bryce. Pro comps are pretty useless.
  5. That's never been proven. You're speculating in reference to coaches being anti-Young or pro-Stroud.
  6. My message to them: Hope springs eternal, motherfugers!
  7. Well I called it in early March, so it's not surprising to me in the slightest. What was kind of surprising is the extent to which some Huddlers bought into media hype and narratives. What was more surprising is how some Huddlers belittled Bryce Young (pun intended) for his size and disregarded his track record of displaying elite traits in college. Admittedly, I almost fell for the hype, but I just couldn't take the intellectual leap that required one to disregard the consistent talent and skills of BY in their entirety to those who have displayed varying amounts of talent and skills inconsistently. That just didn't vibe with my train of thought.
  8. All franchises now use PFF. Just saying. If it was "straight trash," the NFL probably would forego it as a tool.
  9. "His only negative is that most of the other quarterbacks in this draft stand head and shoulders above him (literally) from a stature standpoint. He measured in just a fraction over 5-foot-10 in height, and though he got to 204 pounds in weight by the NFL Combine, his playing weight is as likely to be below 190 than it is above it. That combination of size is virtually unprecedented for a top-tier NFL quarterback, and that level of outlier may terrify teams at the top of the draft. We have no proof that Young’s size will ever be a detriment to his fortunes at the next level, but the lack of uncertainty is concerning." ...... "Stroud’s biggest weakness has been play under pressure — outside of his college playoff game against Georgia this season. His PFF grade from a clean pocket this season finished at 93.4 but dropped to 42.0 when he was pressured. His 10.3 yards per attempt from a clean pocket became 5.7 when under duress, and he ranked in just the 10th percentile in PFF grade under pressure. The game against Georgia showed that he has it in him to excel in those circumstances, but the rest of his college tape shows he hasn’t been able to do it consistently." https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2023-nfl-draft-biggest-pro-con-top-qb-prospects
  10. Oh, snap! @SheenaQ coming on here setting the record straight. I love it! I would hope that the next time that people decide to post something that they'll actually think about what they're putting out into the aether before they hit the submit button. Spurious misrepresentations are never cool and are really tantamount to libel in many settings, but there's a certain amount of nonsense to be expected on message boards and social media in general. It's just a reminder that you can't believe everything you see on a platform that's open to the public and where members can exist in anonymity.
  11. Good content is not necessarily equal to breaking secrets or even breaking a story. If you write about a story that's entertaining and informative to the reader, while also providing factual and accurate information, then you've gone a long way towards credibility. Exclusives are always nice and much appreciated (like a one-on-one interview with a player or coach for example), but outside of that, all the reporters/journalists write and talk about the same thing. Which reporter/station that one prefers comes down to personal preference.
  12. I think that people have some unrealistic expectations regarding sports reporters. Obviously some people seem to think that these reporters are investigative journalists.
  13. I wouldn't be mad, unless some like Kincaid or possibly Quentin Johnston are there. At the end of the day, I probably wouldn't be upset at all. If the coaches believe there is potential day-one starter level talent later in the draft, I guess I'd have to suck it up as the cost of moving up in the first. We're going to have to try to make up some ground this draft and the next.
  14. I doubt that the owner is just going to let him screw them over.
  15. They're doing everything they can to set up to draft the BPA, irrespective of position. Byrd couldn't have been that much. Don't be surprised if we get a vet edge. Ebron is still out there too in regards to TE help.
  16. I thought that it was a misguided take to begin with, but plenty of talking heads ran with it, and plenty of fans ran right after them.
  17. That's really not the point. The point is the perceived value of the player versus the opportunity costs. Sure, a team will pull the trigger when/if they deem it's worth it. But if they deem another player is more valuable, they'll pass QBs off to someone else.
  18. I know some Huddlers are probably dumbfounded that a team would pass up on Stroud. It just goes to show that media-driven narratives don't mean sh¡t to all front offices.
  19. To say that the S2 is the selling point is disingenuous, & I shall not listen to clowns. Why is Young ahead of Stroud on many boards?
  20. There are 31 other teams to root for. Just saying.
