  1. A lot of it could be packages and situational, and things are uncommonly misaligning with the situations they want to use him for. Something like, they thought there would be a lot more throwing against us or some other thing. other than that, he has to be an example of a bad fit because we know he can play. he hasn’t don’t a lot that I liked, or noticed I mean. Couple plays.
  2. Yeah but Tepper is paying them a ton and they are brand new, Reich anyway, and the rest. All newly hired highly paid. Tepper and Nicole…. flying around with them on the search committee. They know who he wants to take. I can see nerdy Dave bugging the poo out of Frank about Young being so smart and how great he is just as good as those big guys, and Smarter by a Lot!
  3. Ironically, giving a hc total control is the one way to protect us from Tepper. I'd I'd be all for firing Fitterer if I thought it would stop this idiocy. It won't unless the owner backs the fug off.
  4. You are totally disregarding that you don’t spend that for a game manager. The 1 overall doesn’t go to a guy who has to his from the white tees and putt to score.
  5. If his parents were killed in a plane crash, or he gets some deadly fatal disease, he has my total sympathy. He sucks in the NFL because he can’t hang with the physicality and pressure? Or a different reason, whatever. Screw sympathy for poor little Bryce Young number one pick smartest draft pick of all time. Zero . Nor will I have any for people who celebrated the colossal mistake that he looks to be.
  6. Yeah I distinctly recall the term ‘drop in’ referring the roster being ready to drop in the qb.
  7. I don’t think there a single success story in the modern NFL with his stature. Shorter, lighter. Much lighter, unless you actually are willing to believe the combine weight scam. Which it absolutely was.. And the type of success the price for him calls for, just has never been had by single QB who is not larger than him. This guy is small next to Brees. People had to use the lie that he has that stature, to support him. It is just a cheap and easy lie they can use, because everyone lies.
  8. I know what he is, as a player. To me, he is proof that people can be monumentally stupid, collectively. edit: and if we are truly serious about finding a franchise qb, we take one with the 2nd rounder and pit him against the one we have. I bet you right now in a fair competition a guy picked there has a great chance to win the job vs what we have in the job right now. I think that would put all this crap to bed.
  9. Looks like you are kind of coming around a little bit. Denial sucks. You’ll get there.
  10. I know the Bryce stans will be upset over any negativism, so you folks start preemptively calming down because here is a bunch of it. I think Bryce Young’s ceiling Might be average starter. Might. He is historically small, not elite in his football athleticism, from strength, to size, to speed, to arm strength. If he succeeds as an average starter in the NFL, it would be historic. Let that sink in. Historic, as in never been done by anyone. He is Not Brees size wise, there simply are no legit comps. And they bet the farm on it. Our farm. And Stroud was there for the taking, looking so much better in practically every quantifiable way. Except ‘processor’. Right? Lol.
  11. Wilks had to be perfect. He wasn’t. I wanted him anyway.
  12. Wouldn’t you think that CMC would be a rookie qb’s savior? Join them at the hip. Especially a ‘point guard’ rookie qb.
  13. No, it won’t really do that, and the way you put it tells me you need to be cleared up on something. But first of all, bragging on the Mingo ball and the other one, a third round QB makes those same throws all day. To clear up what I won’t shut up about, I am not the one that said he couldn’t throw deep (or far), I am the one that says his mechanics overly compensate for his lack of arm strength. He has to use his whole body to get what prototypical players get flatfooted. There are a lot of consequences rippling through a football play, timing wise. Play calling wise, I would for sure bet. Why do I want less than the best (top level) arm if I am paying top dollar? So yes, huge questions on Bryce Young and the NFL since I laid eyes on him. Arm, good enough (third round arm strength?). . Okay i know Fran Tarkenton won with not the best arm, he was not really fast afoot, I watched him. It was a long time ago and a different game. Three times as fast now. Yet people used stuff like that to justify this. Not saying you did. But so much makes no sense, and people just go Yeah! I notice the runup as much as the result on the college throw you posted, or that someone posted, and wonder to myself if the result would be there without it, and would the runup be allowed (takes more time, more space). Big can of worms. He would be truly historic if he succeeded
  14. Meant to say about Wilks, I wanted him because he wasn’t going to be bullied by Tepper, into something he didn’t feel good about. After Az, he learned.
  15. Bro, if you want to hold those up as a reason he was the guy, by all means do so.
  16. That college deep ball posted on Young’s behalf, how many steps did he use on the running start? Looked like the damned javelin throw. Doesn’t that make a difference to people? You have guys that throw that flat footed. I guess he might get that much room to throw in the NFL. edit: sorry Wille but as I remember it the majority here got exactly what they wanted. They were really loud about it. Only thing left to watch is to enjoy the recriminations against everyone but the quarterback. That is what radio is doing too. They can’t admit it. You get Manning comparisons all day but no Leafs for example. He probably had a pretty crappy rookie campaign too.
  17. First thing to do is try and win a game. Gotta start Dalton and hopefully have that mistake of a draft pick get it together with all the gurus.
  18. Going from how the last interim that did an outstanding job, was treated, who wants it?
  19. Worst? Don’t care, but wish he had bought a different team.
  20. Can I say I am tired of looking at him play without that being a personal thing? If so, that is how I feel. And I have felt bad, very bad, about the whole process after seeing the result of it (the trade and subsequent evaluations). I can’t trust anybody up there engineering all this to display competent football decision making skills after this.
  21. I am thinking I am not gonna ever be buddies with you so I am not going to try. Buddy. College. Yeah. It isn‘t hard to find NFL players to explain the dilfference between college (even the SEC) and the NFL. I have yet to hear one say it was the same. They unanimously say the opposite. The speed of the game. The size of the players. Those college highlights, those LSU guys chasing him, are they NFL players now? I looked. Some, a couple of DL and DBs later. Edge rusher Olijari in the 2nd as the highest LSU player. That pretty much means he was embarrassing mostly non NFL talent in those clips. Good for him. Justvtry this and you will see my point, or maybe you will curse it. It is so simple and easy, yet people don’t seem to do it. Anyway: Find an NFL game, Watch the big guys chasing the QB. Now go back and look at those college highlights where they are chasing Bryce. After that, you can say you don't notice the significant speed (and size) difference from the NFL, if you want. But those NFL big guys are so much faster than the college players it jumps off the film. And he is the same guy with the same quickness and the same speed. If he puts on weight and muscle, how much will he lose. I think people have bought a ton of hype. of course, I am sick to death of year after year of shitty football, so I hope he does do well enough to win some games. .
  22. That deal about needing to step into his throws, that was what I saw when watching stuff on youtube. At his pro day. A little skip step.
  23. Looking at replays of the games there was more than once that the receivers were up each other’s butts, like in a phone booth if anyone remembers them. And they are not supposed to be. So my question, when I saw complaints about play design was really, how can you know it is bad play design when they are not running the play as designed. Seems obvious they wouldn’t design a play with two receivers butt cheek to butt cheek I can indict the staff for other things though, also being impartial. Like lying to us. I don’t want to hear any three or four year plan now after telling us this was the most pro ready player. After claiming you are hiding the ‘new offense’ all through preseason, you trot this crap out for your debut. Genius, asshole style, keeping everyone in the dark. Maybe there is no new offense yet because they can’t run it. Is that it?
  24. I love a defensive battle. Goal line stands. Hitting. Dislodge the ball from the carrier or receiver, brutality no extra charge. Murderous intent practically. That is great football. It is gone lost to history and grainy film. I love a 1-0 baseball game too. Where points or runs are not cheap. Every pitch, or every play, has potential to change the outcome when the margins are tight. Love it.
  25. Well, that was optimistic as promised. As far as the can an owner…. Really? Pretty clear examples of it in the past. Irsay the most recent. JR wasn’t trying to stop us but he did, a couple of times. Granted, if Tepper makes it too hard for people to support the team then they shouldn’t. I definitely struggle with that. If Tepper would put a winner out there I would at minimum tolerate him and who knows but he hasn’t shown he understands how to do that.
