Young is not up to the speed of the game. He may be able to adjust, he would be expected to by most people. Hope that happens fast. It wasn’t Mayfield bad, and he didn't proclaim himself Great or trade everything away so he could be here, so I will not direct bad stuff at him. My concern has been his velocity vs NFL defenders, re fitting balls into spots. I am hoping it is the speed, it is just more than he geared up for. Hoping he can adjust. Can’t give the ball away.

Never mind….

I’d rather watch Fox ball. Single wing. A game in a torrential rainstorm without a forward pass thrown. Okay I exagerrate. But…. First thing this bunch did was mortgage the future to ensure we would be running short yardage dives from the gun. Didnt like the idea of it, hate the reality. It isnt pretty.

He is young. You have to wait for the tree find the sun, then it will grow. Or something. I haven’t assessed his opponents this year but when he faces top guys he is going to lose his share of plays. You saw it last year. It is sort of like the team we had. I don’t care about the drama of the QB dying because of it, the ball is hopefully gonna be thrown away or QB pulls it down and protects himself. It’ll make it harder for him all the way around, the down and distance won’t be happy either I know this much: Reich didn’t pick him and will not stand long for his brand new QB to be abused. If turnstile Ekwanu is the reality, they will sign the best FA LOT next year and wont care what it costs.

Me too as far as that goes. This is a bunch of homers getting upset over nothing.

People think Fitterer was in charge of trading for that pick, and selecting that player? Tep hired Reich because he agreed with him on Young. Bet on that.
-
Or a Raidah. I think the only shot at Corral having value of any kind right now, is maybe there is someone that really liked him as a project but the Panthes beat them to him . We probably know who it could be, since we had to trade in front of them. I think Chinn is the more realistic chip from tne trading chips stack, because he is an established talent that may be without a home in a new scheme. Plus, I forget who but just in the last day or two, a paid observer referred to him as the (big?) nickle back “right now”. That “right now”, stood out. Said as if they knew something might be in the wind?

I got news for the spinning weathervane of drama fans: the first regular season game isn’t gonna be some reliable predictor of playoff seedings either. It never meant much and whatever that was, it went out the window with preseason game 4.

Frank if you're listening - Thomas Brown is HIM

Yeah! Andy Reid is 65. Sit his ass down. They are calling the plays they want to look at. A given play could be called just to see what player X does on it. Now instead of when it counts. -
Young will lead the league in leaving the pocket and throwing it away OB. Stuff I was afraid I would see, I am seeing.
-
All the ex players that have expressed approval for Young and Reich and staff have me a little curious. I don’t believe they were blowing company smoke when they praised, so what were they looking at? Are they all that wrong? Everyone wanted offensive coach… I am hearing tons of moaning and complaining oh now the defense sucks. It amuses me on some level, I do admit. But as far as offensive people out there I thought Reich was acceptable as a choice so I am looking around wondering what is going on too, really. What I have seen since he got into the job doesn’t really strike me as displaying a commanding presence… or maybe I am trying to say I don’t get the vibe of big time leader slash winner. That is all intangible type stuff so who that isn’t involved with it is qualified to say what that looks like…. Not me really. It is easy to understand questions being raised with the team looking bad.

I believe he very much lacks patience and wouldn’t be surprised if he took another decade to learn at least some. Doesn’t make him evil, just flawed. I’d much rather his flaw be never being around.
-
Ultimately you want players with a strong enough game to have success even if the other team knows what is coming and we just don’t have that or if we do, they haven’t had enough time together to show it I am not sure about stunts but think they aren’t really game planning and need to be practiced in live conditions too. So the team needs to get that worked out. It is probably a good thing in the long run, being tested like that. It is a practice game after all. I believe there is a head in t(e sand type of rationalization from fans why they couldn’t move the ball and couldn’t keep the other team from doing it.

Ekwanu is no longer a rookie, he doesn’t need his hand held any more if he ever did. But he knows where to have his laundry done now and where to eat and where to get his sound system and rims and jewelry and has his financial advisor set. All that getting settled stuff. He needs NFL playing help now. I think probably quite a bit of it; he is moving into advanced pass blocking. I don’t know how much Erving is gonna help him with that. His value might be back to being more tied to his on field contributions.
-
Yep. Wait until number two at least. The warning light doesn’t come on because a green player made a mistake, it comes on when they don’t learn from them.
-
What is concerning is they thought that. They being management and the staff. Maybe Zavala will be something more than even the semi realistic thinking optimists expect.

Dumb fugs that shitted me can’t figure there was a joke. hot. Ice. Idiots.
-
Maybe they traded him. For a bag of ice.

I think Rivera knew the team wouldn’t be successful fast enough. Changing schemes, teaching the organization to scout and evaluate from a 3-4 perspective, etc, it was gonna take time he didn’t have. And (correctly) figured he was helping to dig his own grave, but had no way to avoid it and remain employed.
-
Rivera had run both, successfully. So I got it on that front. I thought a lot of him as a coach when he was hired. Not as much after that abrupt (and seemingly impulsive) 3-4 switch and since he went to DC.
-
Tepper and his lengths…. I believed then and still believe we were in a 3-4 D because the Steelers ran one and Rivera liked being Head Coach. We may be doing that now for all I know. I mean, we don’t know what conditions Reich was willing to agree to get the job. I find it amusing that they are essentially still on the patented Rhule 7 year plan, Rhule just won’t be here for it (not complaining about that). If you think about it, that Rhule guy was smart. Don’t over promise, don’t mess around and have to backtrack off your 5 year schedule in year 3. That is a bad look. Better to get that out of the way up front, and you won’t have to revise it again 8 years after year 5. (Supposed to be tongue in cheek humor, for the ones reaching for the poo icon).

Saw him playing patty cake with a blocker too. You are supposed to knock the hell out of them. -

The Panthers broadcast team… sorry Smitty, I love you man, but it was horrible. That, combined with a lack of transcendent talent on the field, made me disengage from a game I have been waiting months for. Couldn’t make myself finish the game.
