  1. It was truly the most costly regular season victory we've ever had. I'm not in the camp that wants to tank a season. However, there comes a time in every season when you either have playoff aspirations or you have no shot. When you get to the point where you're out of the playoff midst, it's prudent to maximize the value of future assets. That game was a pure example of being imprudent organizationally to an exponential degree.
  2. I think you're seeing this in a vacuum my friend. Our entire 03 line was comprised of FA's. Turner was getting turnstilled the season we let him walk. Kalil really should have retired. We brought in Oher and honestly he was really good for us. Obviously Matt Kalil was a letdown and that could lead to some ptsd....but thats all it is.
  3. Outside of November Rain prrtty much most of their songs suck anyway. Though I do like Slash.
  4. Regional familiarity. Low expectations. Friends with Cam. There are pieces on offense if we shore up the OL. He will have plenty of input.
  5. If the Panthers don't land Watson then they should just fill their roster with scrubs, stack on cap, get a high pick and start fresh with a new coach, high picks and a boat load of cap next year. Probably the best play anyway. The cure hurts.
  6. As much as Brady as annoyed me throughout his career, I've developed a soft spot for him. It reminds me of how much I used to despise MJ in the NBA because he would just always hit the game winners, and he would torture the Hornets and also the Knicks. (was a Knicks fan as a little kid.) Now though he is the undisputed goat, and I feel bad for this generation never seeing Jordan play in his prime. I think this is the same way I'll feel about Brady. Also he is a classy individual, and we shared a mutual friend who passed away recently and Brady was incredibly classy when the tragedy happened.
  7. I think the Panthers may have learned the hard way that it's more important by a wide margin to build an offense first. It really doesn't matter how good your D is if they have to stay on the field all game. Also we had big time problems stopping the run because we're obsessed with tweeners on the edge. If you take a look at any "defensive" team that won the SB it's because they had a nasty Oline and could control the football. Any D is gonna suck and have massive injuries if you're offense is consistently 3& out. The best D is a good O, and if we have to gut the D to bring in the hogs then so be it. The biggest mark of a good D is being able to force the 3 and out when the other team is trying to run the clock out. We could not stop it last year. We could not get the clutch stops, so I don't care what their stats say. I wrote a thread last year about the problem with our obsession with positionless players on D. Maybe they're coming to their senses.
  8. I'm still mad at DJ for fumbling three times in a game in his rookie year effectively costing us the game. For real though, DJ is good, but replaceable.
  9. I don't think Rhule would be mad at all if he got fired. He'll be owed a lot of money. This may be a situation where the owner may not want to give the coach what he want.....his red slip.
  10. It doesnt matter if the D has to stay on the field 3 quarters of the game.
  11. Plan on going to their match in a few weeks down here in Charleston.
  12. I agree my bad for not puting quotations around "R&D". I did not properly indicate my sarcasm.
  13. Fitterer did himself no favors either.
  14. But we're still in the R&D phase of the rebuild.
  15. Too bad Rhule is the Jemarcus Russell of NFL coaches.
  16. I feel like Gruden needs to go to a state where it's legal nahsayin?
  17. I've thought about this. We need to be able to attract a good coach, and cutting bait every two seasons might not be a good look if you're trying to attract a good candidate. The reality is.....we're fugged indefinitely. The right play is to build from the inside out. Something we've long neglected. As long as we start to rebuild the trenches that's all I care about. I could care less if we suck next year because it's going to happen regardless. I just want to see assets on the Oline invested in. The reality is with a good Oline we probably do win more games regardless of the coach.
  18. Telling you. SC will be all over that poo. SC would never get a chance to land a team again....if they didnt take it. Hope it happens actually. Uptown Charlotte is nice but its a pain in the ass.
  19. JR was a great owner decision wise. I know people are afraid to admit that but its true. It was social behavior that was odd.
  20. Tepper will get a new stadium. In Charlotte or in Rock Hill. Dont think for one sec South Carolina wouldnt love to pry the stadium across the border.
  21. Rhule literally looks like a disgruntled mall santa on a smoke break.
