  1. I appreciate your understanding. Not in one post have I said anything about this being motivated by racism. I will push back though. I don't think Reich's daughter was purely coincidental and most likely it was in the very least a mechanism used to lure Reich.
  2. I don't dislike Reich. I don't think it's a bad hire. I support Reich...but just because I don't think he is a bad coach or a bad hire doesn't mean I don't think Wilks was handled well and obviously I am right. It did create a PR nightmare.
  3. It's just curious to me that we make quarterback excuses for the guy we hire but don't give the guy we let go of the same benefit of the doubt.
  4. It became one dimensional because the team traded it's best player and we had no one opposite of Moore. Wilks made the right decision based upon personnel. There was no way to run a multiple offense because we had zero tight ends and 1.5 decent receivers. We even saw TMJ start to ball better then he ever did with Rhule. Wilks did such a good job that the Panthers brass thinks it's ready to truly compete again. Without Wilks the perception is we are rebuilding again.
  5. Mr Scot. I have the utmost respect for you. Truly. But why dodge the question? Would Wilks have been 3-13 with Andrew Luck as QB? You and I both know the answer to this. You love football to much to not know the truth here. Also why Wilks isn't a QB coach, him implementing a more focused rushing attack led to Sam playing his best football.
  6. Wilks coached solid performances from Sam Darnold. So what.
  7. I didn't say a team with all pros. I said a team with Andrew Luck. Don't stretch it. When you stretch it...it validates my argument. Would Wilks have been 3-13 in AZ if he had Luck?
  8. It does not. Reich had an awful record with a QB he didn't choose. Same with Wilks. Wilks did perform better this past season. Sure Reich had a few more seasons under his belt, but it's not really Wilks fault he didn't have a larger sample size is it?
  9. That's true. I'm not prosecuting a trial here. I am just asking you personally if you think Wilks would have had a better record if he had Andrew Luck his first year in AZ? Conversely do you think Reich would have the same record had he been stuck with Rosen?
  10. Ok let's compare the QBs they had. Do you think Wilks would have done better on AZ his first year with or without Andrew Luck? We can only compare one season because that's all Wilks was given.
  11. I hear that but Reich's daughter was hired weeks ago and like Florio said...attorneys will latch onto that because it would be more shocking if that was coincidence.
  12. I hear that but Reich's daughter was hired weeks ago and like Florio said...attorneys will latch onto that because it would be more shocking if that was coincidence.
  13. No disrespect intended there dude. I'm just saying if me and you are talking about how an NFL organization is run it's just semantics. Sorry if you took that personally wasn't the intent.
  14. I've met you before in real life and I know that neither you or I both work for an NFL team, so let's not get into who knows what here.
  15. I agree with that about Reich. I like Frank Reich. I even watched his Northview sermon last night. This isn't about Reich. Wilks deserved a legitimate look and he didn't get one, but the Panthers pretended they did, that's all the problem is.
  16. Well if this is the philosophy we want to use with Reich why don't we apply to Wilks as well. He's a bad coach because he had a bad year at AZ when everyone knows he got screwed there. Yet it couldn't be an outlier like last year is being painted for Reich? While Wilks was the interim we would have all the conversation in concordance about how he got screwed in AZ, and now that Reich is selected people are using this same info to poo on Wilks. It's not right. Its a double standard and it's old.
  17. I'm confused as to what the point of this argument is. Who other teams interview is who we should interview? Are good coaches only good coaches if they do multiple interviews? You really think that an impending lawsuit has nothing to do with it?
  18. So are you saying that Wilks didn't do a good job. That his success here was attributed to something other then doing a hell of a job coaching?
  19. Yes you could argue that hiring a guy that got fired halfway through the season, while having horrible offensive output last year was not the best decision versus a guy in house who had the team performing way over expectation with community support. The Panthers did not expect to trade CMC and get better. That was a tank attempt. Make no mistake a 6-6 record, if you can even really count the first game against Wilks with him taking over mid week, is miracle work.
  20. I've said multiple times that I don't think it was racially motivated in Wilks case, but it is clear they did not give him a real interview.
  21. No, it's based on the fact that they hired Reich's daughter weeks in advance of their "decision."
  22. How can you just deep discount what Wilks did? Did he choose the players? Did he choose the staff? Saying that he performed the same as previous coaches implies he had the same tools available to him. The same amount of time conducting a training camp. Wilks came in and saved Teppers ass. The team was worse then mediocre when Wilks took over. What did you expect him to do? Go undefeated with a gutted team and the remnants of the ex coaches coaching staff? If Wilks comes in an lays an egg Reich probably doesn't even take this job over Arizona. Don't discount what Wilks did here. He did an incredible job, shitting on that to justify what you wanted to see happen is not good form. You know who the coach of a mediocre team was last year? A guy who worked with the gm on their talent? A coach who had a full training camp last year? Frank Reich. Bottom line is Wilks performed better with less then Reich last year. Just a fact.
  23. They weren't in a no lose situation, they made a bad choice and they get to deal with the consequences. Let's not pretend like the Panthers have been a virtuous organization under Tepper, they haven't. They've been damn near criminal under Tepper.
  24. You could make an arguement that him not working as hard would have benefited the Panthers.
  25. He also fielded a putrid offense this year too. No offense to Reich. I understand people want to point his revolving qb situation, but the same could be said for WIlks and our offense improved under him.
