Has any player talked up by Riverboat worked out well for us?
Ship replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
He was talking about Cam getting an extension recently... what a fool. -
I'm pretty sure michael bennett has been an unstoppable force for the Seahawks since he joined them. He's just as good and as versatile as greg. Cliff Avril and that LB they drafted have been solid pass rushers too. Graham is good but he'll never be Gronk because he is soft as fug and you can take him out of games because of it. You have to injure Gronk to do the same. Graham would be just as likely to be pushed out of the way as whatever receiver they threw to was.

I think it's pretty clear there was a financial settlement between them. She may be a shitty person but she's still a person. I just think it's ridiculous for you to paint Greg as this sad downtrodden player who came to our door, willing to play for peanuts, and we kicked him out into the cold. And how if only we'd let him play here for cheap we'd be in the Super Bowl next season. He has always been money motivated. He did a great job of campaigning to make himself a core piece of the panthers that we couldn't let go, so we would pay him and keep him. He may be a great teammate too. But that's his job too. I don't feel sorry for him that he wasn't immediately snapped up to a mega deal in the first week of FA and that he had to get his agent to drum up some fake leads to remind teams he is still available.

I'm referring to the fact that Seattle had a super talented team this last year and still lost the SB on a last minute TD throw. The game is still a game and even if you have all the best players you're never guaranteed a win. It's like G-Man says, if you think you're one guy away then you're already making a mistake. I think people complaining about us not "going all in" on winning like they say Seattle is are ignoring the fact we aren't any other team but the panthers. I don't think we've had that hard of a time moving the ball against their D, it has always been a red zone problem. Greg would be a problem for sure but we seem to know how to play against SEA and we're going to know exactly what makes Greg tick wherever he goes. Plus with a healthy Cam, he can at least avoid the pressure Greg brings better than most.

It's too bad Greg didn't beat your daughter. Then you could just write the NFL, JR, and the media a letter saying it's ok as long as the panthers make it to the super bowl next year.

I remember when we thought keeping Greg and not signing back our other guys would keep us equal to or more competitive than the previous season. I think we ended up with a losing record, Thomas decoud and antone Cason. Hmm but one of those guys we had to lose for Greg even though we wanted him and he wanted us is back this season. Can't trust Greg and the defense has learned to live without him.

Can Hardy catch a TD pass? I guess you can also say that Russell wilson's contract is still up in the air too... Then what will they do? It would suck to see Greg go to Seattle but it doesn't change what we're building here.

Rumor: Panthers, Titans, and Eagles Contact Michael Crabtree
Ship replied to rscott94's topic in Carolina Panthers
Crabtree would be like Banks from the Mighty Ducks. He was a d bag on the 49ers but would turn into a good guy here. Plus he'd add another facet to our growing Seahawks rivalry. -
Any Panther fan knows you keep pounding til the end of the year. Any New England or Indianapolis fan knows it pays to be in a shitty division.

"Sometimes you gotta put your money where your mouth is and make a splash to win a championship" - saints circa last year.

Say what you want about spending philosophy, I'm just glad we aren't a team where aged college teammates have decided to host their reunion before they retire. Lots of old guys think they can team up to chase a ring. The colts act like a lot posters on this board and basically are gonna throw the kitchen sink at the roster til the good players stick. That's not us, we're building our machine and it'll be done sooner rather than later. Looking forward to playing the colts this year so we can settle this finally.

When were the colts last in the Super Bowl? How many times have they been?

Panthers Hoping To Sign Oher and Ginn Before Tuesday

Pretty clear this move is gonna be hated by everyone and used in the Panthers are anti-Cam rhetoric for the upcoming season. -

Well to be fair Cam had Gross his first 3 years. Year 4 was the only one with Bell at LT.

i love having him on the team and i think he's one of our WRs for the foreseeable future. he made countless clutch catches for us this year. he gets great quick separation on short slant routes and that deep TD against ATL is something we can expect more from him. plus he has some attitude, i've mentioned it before but i loved seeing him toss that dude off kelvin, i can't remember the game anymore. he was a leader at ohio state and he makes the dirty catches on the underneath routes. another intangible is his connection with Cam and Kelvin. in a way we have to let Cam help build his receivers as well, we need him to have his guys in there-- they'll have a better trust and bond and they'll fight harder for each other. i think he can be more of a utility as a WR than Ginn was for us. Plus, maybe we give him a chance to work on catching punts this offseason and if he can get the catches down, then he's a great threat for next year. I love fozzy as our kick returner.

Our lack of drafting talent on offense is really starting to show this year.
