  1. what is it about the endzone that our players don't like?
  2. after Thursday if you'd told me we'd stop their first drive, march the ball down the field and score, I would have laughed. Gotta stop beating ourselves though
  3. PJ is looking much better than I remembered, albeit not against starters.
  4. for the most part I avoid farmed fish, although I recently saw a pretty tempting packet of tilapia at a very good price. Didn't buy it then, but probably will soon. I eat fish 3 or 4 times a week and my wallet could appreciate the savings. I've never heard of putting Worcestershire sauce on fish. It's just crazy enough of an idea to try.
  5. I remember him saying "5 years." Hoping for 4.
  6. there have been occastions when that is on my game day menu...everybody loves pigs in a blanket.
  7. my teeth have been exquisitely brushed in preparation for gnashing. and wailing. Don't forget the wailing.
  8. for an incredibly healthy meal, that looks incredibly good...kudos!
  9. Friends, neighbors, countrymen....our long national nightmare is over. Today, the Carolina Panthers take the field for the first time in months. Even though it is a pre-season game, and most starters won't be out there, it's Panthers football. Menus may not be as elaborate as regular season games but let's hear em anyway... in the Captain's galley will be tacos! Not the new fangled floppy avocado filled things...the kind I grew up with fresh from the Old El Paso box, loaded with ground beef, cheese, tomatoes and taco sauce a plentay. There will be beer, and eventually scotch...
  10. it's been so nice having football the last couple of days, of any kind. There will be plenty for the Huddle to gnash teet and wail about, but I don't care.
  11. pretty sure during our flurry of trades during this year's draft, we ended up with the Texans 4th rounder next year. Meaning we'll have the first pick of the 4th round.
  12. Jaycee just made himself a target for poo from wide receivers.
  13. https://www.panthers.com/news/camp-observations-panthers-off-to-sluggish-start-with-colts Center Matt Paradis made the trip with the intention of practicing Thursday, but felt some more tightness in his back and didn't go. Left tackle Cameron Erving was back after missing the last two days of practice in Spartanburg with a shoulder issue, but he wasn't taking the normal load of reps. Dennis Daley, who could compete for a tackle or a starting guard spot, didn't make the trip, as he was excused for a family matter. That left an odd lot of players being used in new combinations, as they were also using Taylor Moton some at left tackle instead of right. They were rolling new guys through drills every few plays, so it wasn't necessarily conducive to a cohesive performance. Sam Tecklenburg worked with the ones at center rather than moving left guard Pat Elflein inside as has been the case most of camp when Paradis wasn't in. With that much mixing and matching, you can expect it to have rough spots. On one snap, running back Christian McCaffrey was behind the second offensive line, and was swallowed in the backfield by a Colts defensive line that's talented at the top, as well as deep. — Cornerback Jaycee Horn mixed it up with Colts receiver Michael Pittman, and ended up taking a swing before they were separated. Horn has a reputation as a physical player, and you can sense that opposing receivers may try to goad him into things. Steve Smith Sr. used to do that to cornerbacks all the time, particularly the young and confident ones. Horn has to be ready for that kind of treatment.
  14. WESTFIELD – The Indianapolis Colts offense didn’t start well in Thursday’s practice against the Carolina Panthers. But the finish certainly was cause for optimism. The first and second teams scored three touchdowns in red-zone drills – and just missed a fourth by the length of wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.’s foot – to cap a physical and productive day at Grand Park. PLAY OF THE DAY After dominating their own offense for the first two weeks of camp, the Indianapolis defense continued the trend against the Panthers. On six snaps inside the red zone Thursday, the first-team defense did not allow a touchdown. THEY SAID IT “I think we won the physical battle, and that was the most important thing for us.” – linebacker Bobby Okereke on the battle against the Carolina offense. 15. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 48m The Panthers kept calling Thursday a measuring stick, and you can only say they didn’t measure up to the Colts. Matt Rhule didn’t love the play of his receivers (a lot of dropped balls), and his offensive line didn’t hold up particularly well against a good Colts front either. Joel A. Erickson @JoelAErickson · 39m Darnold 7 of 13, P.J. Walker 4 of 7, Will Grier 2 of 3, INT
  16. saw this on the Colts board "Matt Rhule (listening to his presser right now) says they definitely wanted to come to Indy because we're an 11-5 playoff team. He is impressed by our defense, called it physical and says that's where their defense wants to get too (funny because i think they have a good defense). I get the sense we'll see a better Panthers team in tomorrow's practice, and in the game. "
  17. Carolina Blitz @KeepBlitzin · 28s Rhule says overall he wasn’t quite pleased with the play of the offense. Mentioned the lack of precision and specifically pointed out the receiving crew. Says he wouldn’t put the struggles on Darnold. “He was the least of my worries”
