  1. I've seen some numbers posted here I don't believe are correct. Cutting more leaves with 625k dead cap this year and next. Total of 1.25 mill in dead cap. Total cap savings for the 2 years are 3.5 million. Easy decision to make for WR4, who Shi make push down to WR5. So add 2.5 mill in cap space to next years total. And add 6 mill in dead cap next year when we cut Shaq. And add 12 mill in cap savings at the same time. Those 2 moves alone give us 14.5 mill more cap space for 2022. future's so bright...
  2. out of over a hundred thousand posts, you saved your best for now.
  3. Joe Person @josephperson · 3m Several NFL owners, including David Tepper, have matched the NFL Foundation’s $1 million donation for relief efforts in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Ida. Classy move.
  4. you know the famous old saying....if you've got 5 tight ends, you don't have a tight end.
  5. wow Joe Person @josephperson · 2m Panthers have cut WR David Moore.
  6. and remarkably, it looks like there are 10 second year players on the team as well.
  7. we traded our 6th rounder next year for him. Fit has made 4 trades in the last 14 days.
  8. can't deny those 3 throws looked like a very good QB...can't wait to see Sam in the regular season
  9. would be nice, but if he is a serviceable RT, we may get outbid.
  10. just checked our beat reporters on twitter, no new info yet today. If Shi had a test yesterday, we may hear something today. Would really like to hear about Taylor as well. I'll keep watching.
  11. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 11m Shi Smith (shoulder) will miss some time, but "not too long, hopefully."
  12. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 9m Replying to @daringantt That shoulder injury late in last night’s game not as serious as it looked, apparently.
  13. I thought the same...then I checked his contract...we save 3.5 mill over the next 2 years if we cut him. We'll see. I was hoping to see more of him in preseason but it is a crowded position.
  14. one of the most impressive things is he's done behind what many say is one of the greatest wide receiver classes of all time this year...and with Darnold only playing a little more than a half in our 3 games. Pitts, Chase, Waddle, Smith, and Bateman who are all pass catchers drafted in the first round this year. That's just the rookies. He is leading all pass catchers in the NFL in the preseason. Which is not the regular season, but impressive still.
  15. Will Bryan @Pantherstatsguy Through Friday night's games, Terrace Marshall Jr. leads all NFL players with 181 preseason receiving yards.
  16. Darnold looks like he is going to work. He's still nervous, but when the offense executes, meaning we get open on the routes, and line gives him enough time to set his feet, he looks good. He'll look even better with CMC on the field with him. That will help settle him down pretty fast. and agree on the D....they are gelling, learning, getting more confidence in themselves and each other. And they are so young, incredibly young. They could be a very dangerous group very soon. Lot to be optimistic about. If we can beat the Saints, which won't be easy, 4 and 0 is a very real possibility, and confidence will be on our side for the first time in years.
  17. I think we all should take a moment and thank all the Steelers fans who came out tonight to watch their team. Those terrible towels can be put to good use tonight.
  18. Kyle Bailey @KyleBaileyClub · 17m The @Panthers defense has only allowed the @Steelers inside their own 40 once tonight. Pittsburgh got to the 39 yard line and no closer.
