How the Panthers spend: Defensive tackles
Captain Morgan replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
hey I'm just saying what Getty likes. But our first round pick this year proves it doesn't have to be a big man. I really hope Shaq is the right guy, and if we take an elite safety in the first round next year, I'm cool with that. I'm all in with Getty. -

How the Panthers spend: Defensive tackles

yeah I could easily see a double dip if the right players are there. Getty wants the DL to be elite. A second and a third round DT would give us another 5 years of rooking contracts. and I have to choose I actually KK over Star, but my opinion could change if Star explodes next year. I just think it's harder to find pass rushing DT's instead of run cloggers. -

DT is high on our list of draft needs this year because Star and KK are gonna get paid and Cole and Edwards are at the end of their careers. I think Dwan has one good year left in him, don't know about Cole. I'm hoping for a LT, DT and DE in the first 3 rounds for next year. -
Consider: Tampa Bay tackle Gerald McCoy counts $14.5 million against the cap. That Carolina has only half of that tied up in seven players -- and only four likely will make the 53-man roster -- for a defensive front that ranks among the best in the NFL is a bargain. Re-signing veterans Edwards and Cole for relatively low numbers to rotate with Lotulelei and Short was key. http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/14341/how-the-panthers-spend-star-lotulelei-leads-defensive-tackles

I want him to make it but I don't think he will. If he shows be can be a difference make on special teams, then let's go

not our kind of guy.

his description of how players do in pre-season are very much coach speak. Just like every other coach. No coach is going to say "we screwed up with that draft pick". My degree is in communication arts. What I noticed in the part we're talking about is not only the controlled enthusiasm when talking about the upcoming season but two other things...how fast he talked and how long he talked. Not going to say I've studied all his interviews, but it stood out to me. I get the feeling he really likes where this team is. eta. I've never heard that in his voice before
-
you really need to listen to it though. One thing I picked up on was how confidant he sounded. I've never heard him sound that way so much so, usually his tone was normal coach speak bull poo. I think it bodes well, very well for the season. He sounds like he knows he's about to unleash a raging bull.

breakdown. he's on vacation at Lake Tahoe what areas are we better? :a lot more comfortable on the offensive line. The WR position has settled itself down. Funchess had a really good spring. DB's are better, Norman plays the way you want a corner to. Are you a snow skier? "I'm a snow faller. Kelvin...sounded like you wanted to put a little public heat on him for being overweight? :I was just answering the question. I talked with Kelvin and we're ok. Kelvin knows he was overweight. He learned a nice little lesson. Charles Johnson started slowly last season because of a ham string problem...the second half was one of the best DE's in the league Why is Cam Newton worth the big contract? :second half of the season he played as well as any QB in the league. I don't care what the national pundits say. They don't see what we see every day. People don't understand what we're trying to do. Some people pick us to finish last in the south again. People think last year was a mistake...maybe it was, but we won the games.

if there is video proof of him striking a woman with a belt, he should be on the exemption list immediately.

Carolina Panthers 2015 Roster Projection
Captain Morgan replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
If this happens, well Klein was a 5th round pick that we don't want anymore, so no, no one will offer a thing for him, not even a 7th. I think he showed last year he is not good enough on the outside, and Man of Steel Luke in the middle, he's not worth a roster spot. I was shocked when we drafted Mayo, our 2nd lb in a draft with 5 picks, especially since the team seemed pretty happy with Glanton. Makes me wonder if there is an issue we don't know about, maybe locker room or off field. -
seems I remember Kony getting frustrated last pre-season.

yeah I was ready to post a funny gif near the start of this thread, but I'm glad I didn't. I was worried it could turn out serious, and so it has.
