  1. btw The Jump on ESPN just called the Hornets "must see tv" with Lamelo. Although I have seen every game with any problems, I understand the irony.
  2. Houston tonight...we're coming off a good win just one day before. Should have enough legs with all our young backcourt guys. Houston is interesting...they are 7-4 since they traded for Oladipo. This game could be a tough one. Can we hit the 3 like we did yesterday?
  3. really weird to see the defending Super Bowl champs act like they've never been there before.
  4. gotta love a Super Bowl goal line stand.
  5. The Saints are facing discipline from the league office for violating COVID-19 safety policies, according to NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. This marks the third such violation for Sean Payton & Co., so the punishment is likely to be even larger. Between the two previous penalties, the Saints have already been docked $750K plus the forfeiture of a seventh-round pick. The latest flag stems from a late-season incident in which running back Alvin Kamara came in contact with a COVID-19 positive person at the team facility. That person was not employed by the Saints, even though non-team personnel have been barred from entering this season. When Kamara contracted the coronavirus, the timing couldn’t have been worse. Forced out of the season finale, Kamara still finished the year with an NFL-high 21 TDs. Meanwhile, several other Saints RBs were forced out of Week 17, putting increased attention on the Saints and their protocols. Interestingly, Kamara himself was not an innocent party in this. According to Jeff Duncan of The Athletic, Kamara’s refusal to wear a contract-tracing device was a problem all season, so the club had no way to trace his close contacts after he tested positive (Twitter link). The league’s investigation into the latest alleged violation could presumably lead to discipline for Kamara as well as the Saints. The Saints project to have four, or possibly five, selections in the 2021 draft. Currently, they have only their first-, second-, and fourth-round picks. However, they are slated receive a pair of third-round compensatory picks for hiring Terry Fontenot and losing Teddy Bridgewater. In the coming days, the Saints could wind up losing more from their stockpile. some more stuff in the link. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2021/02/saints-facing-covid-19-discipline It's amazing how that organization can't follow the rules. Anybody could mess up once with all the new rules regarding the virus, but after being fined and losing a draft pick, they couldn't get Kamara to follow the rules, so they did nothing and sure enough, he and other rbs had to miss a game. Amazing.
  6. made some pickles wrapped in havarti cheese then fried in an egg roll wrapper. sriracha ranch dipping sauce. It was ok.
  7. Hornets blow out Washington, led by 29 at one point. Nick Richards got into the game.
  8. early game today, Washington at 1 pm
  9. once again, the Hornets will not give up. They are relentless like the "Jake from State Farm" commercials, and whatever that commercial is that has the classical/opera song about a car with food on the roof.
  10. Hornets jumped out to a double digit lead, then fell behind in the 2nd quarter, and at the half are behind by 15. Graham pulled up with a non-contact injury and went to the locker room. Waiting to see what's up with that. The last two games have shown we need a big man to be a true contender.
  11. wow. Hornets starting Graham, Rozier and LaMelo tonight. 3 guards, plus Gordon. Rebounding will be key, but LaMelo is excellent as a rebounding guard.
  12. when he did that I was like another tough one tonight....guess who's got the best record in the West? Lakers? Nope. Clippers? nope. That would be Utah. Just glad they don't have Embid.
  13. another one from ECU: OT D'Ante Smith Played in the Senior Bowl, but I don't know if he was on our team.
  14. It may be more likely than most think. There are a TON of excellent WR free agents this year, and the salary cap is going to be an issue for almost every free agent. He may find his market more like 8 or 9 million a year, and we could probably afford that depending on our quarterback situation.
  15. if you really want to know what disappears the fastest, it's pigs in the blanket. Something no one talks about but everyone loves. ABTs (jalapenos stuffed with chopped pork bbq and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and grilled or smoked move almost as fast, and everyone talks about those. And those little ham and swiss sliders with dijon on Hawaiian sweet rolls with poppy seeds go fast too.
  16. February 26, 2020 - 3:31 PM CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Hornets guard Malik Monk has been suspended indefinitely because he violated the NBA’s anti-drug program, the NBA announced Wednesday. “The Charlotte Hornets are disappointed in Malik’s decision-making that resulted in his suspension,” the team said in a news release. “As an organization, we do not condone his behavior. However, we are committed to supporting Malik during this time.” https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/hornets-monk-suspended-indefinitely-by-nba-violating-nba-anti-drug-program/KUAMAMJ6YJAB5GGVDRZH3KQ3HA/ His sudden appearance on the floor the last two games made me wonder if we were showcasing him for a trade. If so, we sure got a good showcase. We are guard rich and front court poor. If Malik can continue to score like this, I'd rather keep him over Devonte.
