  1. lots of talk about us trading down. https://nbadraft.theringer.com/mock-draft And ESPN is reporting the first pick will be Cade Cunningham. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31912867/sources-detroit-pistons-select-oklahoma-state-cade-cunningham-no-1-pick-nba-draft
  2. Hornets talking with teams about trading back. "According to ESPN insider and NBA Draft expert Chad Ford (subscription required), the Hornets have had discussions about trading the 11th overall pick. They have spoken to two teams in particular about a deal - the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder. Based on these rumors, it seems as though the Hornets are trying to trade back in the draft. Both the Knicks and Thunder have shown interest in trading up, according to Ford. New York is using picks 19 and 21 as bait, while Oklahoma City is using picks 16 and 18. Either of these potential moves would allow the Hornets to bring in two rookies instead of one. With a draft as deep as this one, that might be their best bet. Based on the prospects they supposedly have their eyes on, plenty of players they like will be available in the middle of the first round. Ford reported a few days ago (subscription required) that the Hornets have five different players in the mix that they are focusing on - Moses Moody, Kai Jones, Ziaire Williams, Cameron Thomas, and Day’Ron Sharpe. Outside of Moody, all of these players are projected to be drafted just outside of the lottery. Trading back would ideally allow the Hornets to select two of them." https://www.atthehive.com/2021/7/28/22598248/hornets-have-discussed-trades-with-knicks-thunder-and-could-potentially-trade-back-in-nba-draft
  3. UNC-W would be interesting considering they don't have a football team.
  4. he's kind of the forgotten weapon among the many we have. And we have him under contract for 2 years at a total of 2.5 million. After being with the Jets, Darnold has to be drooling along with you.
  5. was just watching them talk about that on NFL live, and the quote from their GM sounded a little testy...something to the effect of "when he signs, he signs. We've got 89 other guys to give our attention to."
  6. that's a lot of maturity for a 23 year old. This man has a long, long future in this league.
  7. Brian Burns speaks to media after practice https://twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1BdxYYyVWaoxX
  8. Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Panthers working out a couple skill-position types after practice. Scott Fitterer said they want to add speed in the secondary.
  9. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 1h Brian Burns says he’s gained about 12 pounds of muscle this offseason.
  10. I'm really high on our secondary. Read a season preview that ranked that position group much lower than I do. I understand that Jaycee is a rookie, and will get penalties for being handsy but I think Donte will have his breakout year, Chinn is more of a safety now, and that is 3 dadgum good secondary players, especially after a few games of working together. Bouye is the perfect veteran to lead the group. We just need to get a free safety. I know Chinn could play that but I'd like to keep him closer to the ball, and I think the Panthers feel that way too. And that will help our rush greatly. Burns is getting credit because of the number of sacks he's had, but his QB pressures are among the best in the league. And this year, I think he'll have enough time to finish those rushes and get to the passer. Which will greatly help our young secondary. With Perryman and Reddick in the second line, man this season is gonna be a statement from our defense.
  11. I'll fill in #4....the Panthers are completely healthy. I know I say that with the possibility of getting the ban hammer for inviting the jinx, but I can't remember the last time we were 100% healthy, and after the cards we were dealt last season...actually I'm going to shut up now.
  12. glad Brian is getting some love from someone....meanwhile
  13. talks about the work our QBs will get against the Colts and Ravens in those joint practices. during OTAs couple of left tackles weren't completely healthy..Trent and Cam. They are now. DaQuon Jones and Morgan Fox played on playoff teams..Daquon was on a 2-14 team that flipped it. He knows what it takes to be a pro and he will teach our younger guys.
  14. says we're way ahead of last year because we had an offseason. asked about Moton, said in the NFC south some of the best rushers are on the right. but they'll give him some reps at LT. said we're having two joint practices because we're a young team and we need that work. there's a lot of questions in the secondary, but they're good questions. I was so proud of our team this spring, in terms of commitment they they made to show up when they didn't have to. You can tell it's a team that wants to be good.

  16. Bill Voth @PanthersBill · 31m “There is no doubt that being vaccinated helps our team.” - Matt Rhule, who again adds that he’s not judging those who aren’t
  17. @daringantt · 15m Panthers head coach Matt Rhule mentioned that all the players who were limited near the end of OTAs (Cam Erving, Trent Scott, Troy Pride) should be ready for practice tomorrow. It’s good to go into camp healthy.
  18. interesting article about who the Cavs may take...if they take Mobley, it says we should offer Jarret Allen a hundred mill. https://www.atthehive.com/2021/7/27/22592548/jarrett-allen-should-be-priority-number-one-for-the-charlotte-hornets-this-offseason
  19. Good to see Taylor feeling good about our future... @joshkleinrules · 55m "The culture that we're building here, I think it's something truly special." -Taylor Moton
