  1. over the cap is very close to these numbers...Big hits are Teddy and KK, Luke is next. However, for next year.... only $2,666,668...Tre Boston.
  2. there is always an avalanche of information during the draft, so for those that may have missed it, Matt Rhule's wife sent him a text before the Panthers 4th round pick that something similar to "draft Chuba or don't come home." Fortunately, Matt slept well that night.
  3. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/best-offensive-lines-in-the-nfl-ranked/ 31) Carolina Panthers When we look back at the 2021 NFL Draft in the coming years, the Carolina Panthers not addressing their offensive line could easily stand out as one of the more questionable decisions. While they retained Taylor Moton on the franchise tag at right tackle, Cameron Erving is set to start at left tackle. Erving’s 1.7% run stuff rate is among the bottom 10 for players who played more than 100 snaps in 2020. An interior grouping of Matt Paradis, Pat Elflein, and John Miller does not give the line a huge boost. Paradis struggled in the run game with 14 blown blocks, tied for the third most. Meanwhile, Elflein’s blown block rate of 4% placed him as the seventh-worst interior offensive lineman in 2020.
  4. David Moore is really good. We're in a perfect position to let Terrace get fully healthy. I'm gonna miss Robby. Hoping David is good enough to keep, and Terrace reaches the high ceiling all the draft scouts were talking about. Our WR group is strong and deep, and I have a sneaky feeling about Shi Smith. It's weird having all this talent and depth at WR and CB. Anyone remember our WR corp that Cam took to the Super Bowl?
  5. for the record, the Hornets had a 1.8% chance of getting the #1 pick. We got number 11.
  6. when we signed Rhule, I kept reading about his relationship will all his college players. I did some research on his former players who were in the NFL, and when their contracts ended, just in case some might want to play for him again. Hasson was top of the list, but I knew we couldn't afford him. Then came the pandemic, the lower salary cap, and sudden one year deals....and here he is. Hopefully he gets 10+ sacks and we sign him to a 3 year deal and then sign Brian Burns when Hasson's contract ends. If he wants to stay for another year or two we might be able to swing it, but if not... it will probably have been one hell of a fun time watching those guys together for 3 years. fingers crossed that everything comes together.
  7. After we finally got lucky last year, could it happen again? I won't feel guilty if we get a top 4 pick. Getting a chance to get one of the few big men available this year would be the thing that puts us in the top tier for the future.
  8. when you say, "had a nice gummy," exactly how many have you had today?
  9. although I think our line will be much improved this year, ever since the draft I've felt our first pick next year should be left tackle...just like every year since Jordan retired. I think we have enough in Cam and Daley to last through the year.
  10. confirmed!!! At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 49m LaMelo Ball named 2020-21 NBA Rookie of the Year HOW DO YOU DO!!!
  11. rather than start a new thread for each article, we can all post things about potential trades here. Atthehive just published an article that pulls a lot of rumors together. "One of the names we’ve seen a lot, and one that we’ve seen a lot of in Hornets fans mock trades, is Myles Turner. The Hornets apparently REALLY want Turner, per J. Michael of the Indy Star. Turner brings a unique combination of shot blocking prowess and outside shooting ability. He isn’t the most adept passer and probably wouldn’t help with the Hornets rebound problems, but beggars can’t be choosers. The Hornets are also expected to pursue Jarrett Allen in free agency. Allen doesn’t have the outside shooting of Turner, but he’s a better rebounder, passer, and interior scorer. The Hornets probably have long odds to land Allen, as he’ll probably be a pretty hot commodity in free agency, but he’s restricted, so the Cavaliers would be able to match any offer. The Hornets are also apparently in the market for Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis. I honestly have no idea what people think of Porzingis anymore." https://www.atthehive.com/2021/6/15/22534483/charlotte-hornets-news-showing-interest-centers-myles-turner-jarrett-allen-kristaps-porzingis
  12. How do you feel about playing with Brian Burns? "when you look at the talent between me and him, it should be scary. It's nothing to take lightly. I would definitely be worried if I was other offenses."
  13. Joe Person @josephperson · 40m Tryout kicker Zane Gonzalez is wearing No. 5. As @agetzenberg pointed out, Teddy Bridgewater‘s number is back in circulation.
  14. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 39s The Panthers have agreed to terms with first-round pick CB Jaycee Horn.
  15. we would still need a defender in the post. One source stated that the Hornets are very intrigued by the possibility of adding Porzingis. They want to add a big man alongside LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier. Porzingis would not bring the defensive presence that they would like, but he would add more offensive firepower and more star power in general. During the 2020-21 season with the Mavericks, Porzingis ended up averaging 20.1 points per game to go along with 8.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks. He shot 47.6 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 37.6 percent of his three-point attempts. Those numbers show why a team like the Hornets should take a long look at acquiring him this offseason. Even though he is receiving a lot of criticism right now, there is no question that Porzingis is still a star in the NBA. He can score at a high level and is not a bad rebounder either. At just 25 years of age, Porzingis still has plenty of room to grow and improve. With a young and dynamic team like the Hornets, he could come in and fit perfectly right off the bat. https://www.nbaanalysis.net/2021/06/14/report-hornets-among-teams-considering-trade-for-kristaps-porzingis/
