I never thought Monk was going to stay after his suspension, followed by few minutes until injuries required his playing. He did fairly well in those minutes, and will get a contract with someone else.

The Charlotte Hornets are extending a qualifying offer to point guard Devonte Graham, which would make him a restricted free agent, the team announced Sunday. Meanwhile, the Hornets decided not tender Malik Monk, which means his time with the Hornets is over. Charlotte added two centers on draft night, and also drafted JT Thor, who could be classified as a four or a five. With the moves, they now have significantly less cap space to work with this summer, and also don’t have a huge need for a center anymore. Plumlee can act as their starter and safety net as they try to develop Jones, Thor, Vernon Carey Jr, and Nick Richards.
