  1. Minnesota tonight, then Miami on Thursday, then the All Star break. Not exactly the ideal last two games before the break. I will enjoy Trez and the energy he brings. Would like to see more Thor as well.
  2. not comfortable with our current backup PG situation. Hornets haven't given any clues about what they're thinking. There has been some talk that the Knicks could buy out Kemba's contract, but there is no guarantee he would accept a backup role. He'd be perfect though, good vet presence, Charlotte loves him, and he has said he loves Charlotte. I thought about Liangelo but he's more suited to shooting guard. Any other options or ideas?
  3. T-Ro messed around and got a triple double, then gets the post game shower
  4. will the bugs keep buzzin tonight? injury report: CHA: Gordon Hayward: out (ankle), Cody Martin: out (left ankle/Achilles soreness), Jalen McDaniels: out (left ankle sprain). MEM: Santi Aldama: questionable (right foot soreness), Dillon Brooks: out (left ankle sprain), Yves Pons: out (left thigh soreness), Killian Tillie: out (back soreness), Xavier Tillman: out (right thigh soreness). The Charlotte Hornets ended a six-game losing streak last night in Detroit, and tonight they have a chance to end a five-game skid at the Spectrum Center against the Memphis Grizzlies. All-Star point guards LaMelo Ball and Ja Morant square off for the second time this season, with the Hornets taking a 118-108 win on Nov. 11. Memphis comes into this one winners of four-straight, averaging a league-leading 130.5 points, 57 rebounds and 30.3 assists per game in that stretch. They’re also second in offense and sixth in defense. The Grizzlies have the third-best winning percentage on the season, but they’ve been especially good in the last few weeks. Steven Adams is scoring the fewest points per game (6.8) since his rookie year, but he’s still Steven Adams. His 9.6 rebounds lead the Grizzlies and a rebounding percentage of 19.3 ranks sixth in the NBA among qualified players. A few days ago, this was a much worse matchup for the Hornets. The addition of Montrezl Harrell shores up some of Charlotte’s interior finishing and rebounding deficiencies, and he’s made an immediate impact. It really seems like Harrell injected the locker room with a burst of energy upon his arrival; former Louisville Cardinals teammate Terry Rozier did promptly record his first triple-double as a Hornet in Harrell’s first game. https://www.atthehive.com/2022/2/12/22930521/preview-rejuvenated-charlotte-hornets-return-home-to-face-memphis-grizzlies?utm_campaign=atthehive&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  5. Bugs seem happy.....set a record for points scored. Charlotte Hornets PR@HornetsPR·1m.@hornets are up, 79-55, at DET to set the franchise record for most points in H1. Charlotte's previous record for points in H1 was 77 vs. WAS on 1/17/18.
  6. Montrez with 3 dunks in the first quarter. Seems to be some life in the Hornets tonight. Montrez-Miles are going to be dunk monsters.
  7. Sam Perley@sam_perley · 29mJB indicates Ball, Rozier and Bouknight will be the primary ball-handlers tonight; Rozier backup PG, Bouknight at SG in the 2nd unit here we go...
  8. I've resigned my to this. We've heard we might sign the oft injured Armstead of the Saints for LT, and I think we then go Pickett. He's the most ready, and we all think Matt knows he needs to win now. I really want to trade back a few spots and get a pick in the 2nd or 3rd, we could get great value in those rounds, but alas...Matt needs a QB. This is a bad time to not have a second and third round pick, and a desperate need for a quarterback.
  9. guess we'll get look at our new guy tonight Rod Boone @rodboone · 1h Mitch Kupchak said he expects Montrezl Harrell to play tonight against the Pistons in Detroit as long as the physicals on both sides are completed. He anticipates it getting done in time for Harrell to make his debut.
  10. No file chosen Your Home Timeline Charlotte Hornets PR @HornetsPR · 25m INJURY UPDATE: @hornets at DET 2/11 Bouknight (R Wrist Sprain) is probable Martin (L Ankle/Achilles Soreness) out McDaniels (L Ankle Sprain) is out Hayward (L Ankle) is out
  11. James Plowright @British_Buzz · 1m Really like the Harrell trade, retain his bird rights for the summer too so if he plays well Charlotte have a way to retain him despite not having CAP space. Also get of Vernon Carey Jr's salary in 22-23 which was fully guaranteed. BIG win!
  12. At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 8m Harrell has a poor reputation as a defender, but Washington's defense has been quite bit a better with him on the floor over Gafford. Also gives some much needed tenacity on the interior. Will be interesting to see what this does to the center rotation and PJ's minutes at 5.
  13. bye bye Ish. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Wizards will receive Vernon Carey, Ish Smith and a second-round draft selection. https://clutchpoints.com/hornets-news-charlotte-acquires-montrezl-harrell-from-wizards/
  14. Montrezl Harrell to Charlotte Shams Charania: Washington is finalizing sending Montrezl Harrell to Charlotte, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. 2 seconds ago – via Twitter ShamsCharania https://hoopshype.com/team/charlotte-hornets/
  15. The Charlotte Hornets and San Antonio Spurs have discussed a possible trade of PJ Washington, Kai Jones, and the inclusion of a first-round draft pick for Jakob Poeltl, league sources told HoopsHype. Currently, both sides are haggling over the potential inclusion of a first-round pick in the trade. Before selecting Josh Primo 12th overall in the 2021 draft, the Spurs considered Jones at that selection as well, HoopsHype has learned. 31 seconds ago https://hoopshype.com/team/charlotte-hornets/
  16. we need a get right game, and the Bulls have won 5 straight against us. We just don't match up well with these guys. We have to win sooner or later....right? CHA: James Bouknight: doubtful (right wrist sprain), Gordon Hayward: out (left ankle), Cody Martin: out (left Achilles soreness), Jalen McDaniels: out (left ankle sprain). CHI: Lonzo Ball: out (knee), Alex Caruso: out (wrist), Ayo Dosunmu: out (concussion), Derrick Jones Jr.: out (finger), Patrick Williams: out (left wrist).
  17. Yurt seems a forever backup, but that won't hurt. Maybe he'll progress with more playing time. Marcus is long in the tooth, but gives us a little vet presence in the post. as bp said above, better to get something for PJ while we can. Will miss him. Wish him well.
  18. staff photographer: Ok now for your official team photo for the Carolina Panthers website. Paul: Carolina Panthers?!? I though I was joining the Jacksonville Jaguars! click
  19. Hayward injured and out for the game. Again. Wonder how long this time.
  20. Jonathan M Alexander @jonmalexander · 21m LaMelo Ball said he found out he was making the All-Star team from GM Mitch Kupchak. He said at the time he was taking a nap. He said the conversation went something like this: Ball: Hello (groggy from the nap) Kupchak: Good news. You made the All-Star team. Ball: oh word? That’s what’s up. Thanks. (Hangs up. Lies back down.)
