  1. omelette wrap....hmmmm....new to me, will have to give that a try
  2. damn, they just showed DJ in his Bears uni...
  3. Love and Ridder. of course neither will get a lot of snaps anyway.
  4. there's several games tonight, and although I have 3000 channels on Spectrum, I only get one. Packers and Bengals....I'll watch....hope someone who can get some other games can give us updates, paticularly the Falcons game.
  5. remember the Texans earned the secon pick in the draft...if Withers had coached from day one last year we probably would have won the division. We're in a lot better shaped than Houston....particularly on OL
  6. yeah CJ and Bryce are tight, I hope he has a long career.
  7. didn't realize they were playing, thanks for the heads up, and I ain't watch much if any of the second game. Just so good to have football back....already planning my Saturday menu
  8. we'll see Hunt in game two One day after news of their workouts was learned, both Kareem Hunt and Anthony Barr are set to head to New Orleans. The Saints are expected to sign both veterans pending a physical, reports ESPN’s Dianna Russini https://www.profootballrumors.com/2023/08/saints-expected-to-sign-rb-kareem-hunt-lb-anthony-barr
  9. the following nin words will send a chill down your spine: This day last year, our coach was Matt Rhule.
  10. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2023/08/panthers-to-sign-olb-justin-houston Houston’s sack total from last season would have ranked second on the Panthers, behind only Burns’ 12.5. A change to a 3-4 scheme under new defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is expected to help Gross-Matos take a step forward, and Frankie Luvu has shown an ability to produce both on the inside and outside at the linebacker spot. Despite the incumbents in place, Joe Person of The Athletic wrote earlier today about the high probability of an addition being made (subscription required). Houston was among the options Person laid out, headlining a group which was thinned recently by the Bears’ deal for Yannick Ngakoue. That accord came in at a higher price ($10.5MM guaranteed) than many anticipated, and it will be interesting to see how Houston made out with this Panthers pact. The latter will look to repeat his success from last year while helping to lead Carolina back to the postseason.
  11. Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Not a lot of balls in the air today. More situational work. Bryce Young was 2-5 in 11 vs 11. Joe Person @josephperson · 1h CJ Henderson picked off Bryce Young in seven on seven drills. Looked to be a miscommunication with Derek Wright Joe Person @josephperson · 2h Several apparent vet days for Shaq Thompson, Hayden Hurst and Adam Thielen. Joe Person @josephperson · 3h Miles Sanders is in full pads today after tweaking something yesterday. Frank Reich wasn’t sure what. Joe Person @josephperson · Aug 5 Frank Reich says Austin Corbett is ahead of schedule in his recovery from ACL surgery. But Panthers are not going to rush it and he’s definitely not going to be ready for Week 1.
  12. Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Spirited end to practice with the first-team defense stoning the offense from the 11-yard line 3 plays in a row.
  13. Brady is our swing tackle...last year was the first time he played guard, and it didn't go very well. He may be a starting guard this year, but if someone gets hurt, I'm pretty sure we'll put him in instead of Cam. Also, it's so funny to see people here saying we need a backup at OT while we went through puragatory looking for a tackle for either end before Moton, and now we have Ickey. We're in the top 10, and probably higher, in this league in regard to OT
  14. I follow the Saints board daily (and used to check the Falcons board, but it's gone, if it migrated somewhere else, I can't find it) It's been fun watching them deal with this over the last year. At first everyone defended Kamara, but when the video came out, more than half said "yeah that's a problem." Many thought he would get jail time, but I'm sure the victim got some hush money (like Hardy's victim) and it got reduced to a misdeanor. Regardless, Goodell has seen the film, and it's another blow to the league's image (and again from the Saints, who have seen more than fair share of embarrassments and scandals. 4 to 6 games seems to be what they feel will happen....Goodell wants to hear Kamara's side of the story before deciding.
  15. a week from this Saturday is our first game!
  16. man, giving presentations to the OL already....that's just and Ickey is looking STOUT
  17. noted that....love the fight in him yesterday too...hoping the new staff can finally give this kid some stability and coach up that talent..
  18. he's probably gonna be a 20 mill per year or more guy...don't think we can afford him and Burns....but if we do, the timing is right....if Bryce is the guy we think he is, 5 years from now he'll be getting a huge chunk of our salary cap. While we've got Bryce cheap, our salary cap situation 3 and 4 years from now is good....it could be done if we think we'll have a chance to win the conference during that time period. The timing for that decison would be better next year after we've seen a season of Bryce. And next year, we might not have an edge like Hunter available. I think we'll look at it, but won't pull the trigger.
